1 Inspections and Trends (Section 2 of 2) Overview The Inspection and Trends module provides tools (Widgets) for extracting data on Stan/Eval, Testing, Training, Waivers, and Go/No Go. Users designate the Parameters desired for each Widget which are then used in Layouts to mine thetims/gtims database for specific types of trending data. Layouts are customized views of Widgets that are Run to extract the desired data from the system for analysis/ presentation. Depending on the intent of the analysis to be done, Layouts could consist of a combination of Widgets for a single Org (i.e., how is Unit X faring?) or a single Widget for a combination of Orgs (i.e., how do Unit X & Y compare?). Layouts can be saved and opened in the future without having to redefine the Widgets. This checklist is divided into two sections describing the operation of the Inspection and Trends module of TIMS/GTIMS. Section 1 deals with setting up Layouts in which Widgets are utilized to extract information from the database. Section 2 shows how to populate, extract and export the data in a Layout using the Widgets. Section 2: Adding Widgets to a Layout Once a Layout is built, Widgets are added to it using the appropriate menu. 1 Select the Layout from those available (below, left) JB Charleston, in this case. NOTE: When a Layout is open, selecting it again here will open a second (or third, etc.) version. NOTE: If Widgets are selected before a Layout has been created, then the system will create a Layout automatically and it must be saved, if desired. 2 From the menu, click on the desired Widgets (below, center and right) to populate the Layout. NOTE: Widgets must be individually added to a Layout using their individual Parameters dialog. Also, they cannot be dragged and dropped to a Layout. 2 1 NOTE: A Layout with its associated Widgets can be saved and reopened at a later time. However, when Widgets are Run, the results produced are NOT saved as part of a Layout. Thus, each time a Layout is opened, the Widgets will need to be Run again. NOTE: The Parameters for the Widgets are saved from the last time they were Run; therefore, unless a quarter or year has lapsed since the Widgets were last Run, the results will be unchanged from the last time the Widgets were Run when Previous Quarter/Year or Custom Dates were used for the Date Range,.

2 Based on the Parameters Set, Widgets Provide the Following: Stan/Eval: Form 8 Tool Information on completed Forms 8. Stan/Eval Audit Log Audit log entries recorded in Stan/Eval. Discrepancies All discrepancies recorded on Forms 8. Evaluations Each qualification renewed indicating the numbers completed in zone as well as out of zone, and the number of No-Notices. SPOT checks, to include no-notice SPOTs, are also included. However, since SPOTs are not associated with a qualification the numbers in zone and out of zone are always 0. Quals that were not renewed (INIT, Q3s, etc.) are not included. However, INSTR quals are included as they do not expire and therefore do not have zones. Eval Requisite Speed Shows that part of the zone in which requisites are being completed. Only returns data for Forms 8 completed for qualification renewals. SPOTs, INITs, INSTRs, and Q3s not resulting in a qualification renewal are not included. Less Than Q Form 8 items that receive a less than Q grade. FEF Comments By organization and by type of comments (EQ, Commendables, etc.) on a Form 8. Discrepancies and Training Comments Discrepancy and training comments entered on a Form 8. Duty Code vs. Certification A list of individuals with a certification along with their duty codes. FEF Certifications All the qualifications possessed across an organization. FEF Qualifications The qualifications of a student for completed Forms 8. Testing: Testing Instance Statistics for questions in completed tests. Testing Question Bank Statistics for questions by question bank and then by test. Training: Task-Based Training Template Trends A summary view of the progress of Task-Based Training at the template level in one of two ways: 1) Templates: Trending at the highest template level. 2) Template Raw Data: The raw data used to generate the template trends. Task-Based Training Task Trends A summary view of the progress of Task-Based Training at the task level in one of two ways: 1) Tasks: Trending at the task level. 2) Task Raw Data. The raw data used to generate the task trends. New Personnel Training Insight into personnel that have been assigned predefined templates. Task-Based Training Comments by Task A summary of the comments associated with a task. Task-Based Training Comments by Template A summary of the comments associated with a template. Waivers Status of Task Based Training waivers. Go/No Go: Go/No Go Override Trends The most commonly overridden items, those individuals that most often had items overridden, and the individual who made the most overrides. FCIF Data about the FCIF, to include % read and % overridden. Miscellaneous: Self-Inspection Log Used to enter comments into or else view and edit existing comments in the inspection log.

3 Stan Eval Widgets: The basic Parameters found in every Stan/Eval Widget dialog box are similar to those used in the Layout setup where Organization Filters include Base, Platforms and Organization(s), as well as Resource Type, Crew Position, and Crew Member options. Other differences are found in the respective Options section for each Widget. Parameters for Discrepancies (below, left), Evaluations, Eval Requisite Speed, Discrepancies and Training Comments, FEF Qualifications, Duty Code vs Certification, and FEF Certifications are identical. However, Parameters for Duty Code vs Certification, and FEF Certifications do NOT include the Crew Member option. The Form 8 Tool Parameters (left, center) includes checkboxes to Only Include Multiple Flights or Only Include Less Than Q1. Stan/Eval Audit Log Parameters (right, center) includes an Audit Category drop-down menu (below, right). The Less Than Q Parameters (left) includes a box where a value for Threshold % of U and Q- Items may be entered. The FEF Comments Parameters (right) has checkboxes to Select Comments.

4 Testing Widgets: The Parameters for the Testing Widgets are identical except Testing Instance Parameters (left) includes a list of available Tests from which to select while Testing Question Bank Parameters (right) includes a list of available Question Banks (QDBs) from which to select. NOTE: Use the Clear Selected (either Tests or QDBs) button to remove unwanted Tests or QDBs from the analysis. If more than one Test/QDB is to be removed, use the Ctrl key and select those to be cleared. Task Based Training (TBT) Widgets: The Parameters for TBT are also identical except Template Trending (left) has an option to Separate Completed/Not Completed training (the default). The filters for Scope and Class are both controlled by dropdown menus. Task Trending (right) includes filters to select Task or Task Association. NOTE: The lists of Templates, Named Template Associations, Tasks, or Named Task Associations presented are filtered to those associated with the selected organization(s), if any are selected. NOTE: Templates, Named Template Associations, Tasks, or Named Task Associations may be optionally specified to do trending for only the selected Templates, Named Template Associations, Tasks, or Named Task Associations. NOTE: Both TBT Widgets have an option to Display Raw Data. When selected, a dialog box (below) warns of the time involved in producing the requested data.

5 Task Based Training (TBT) Widgets (cont): The Parameters for TBT Comments by Template are identical to those for TBT Template Trending except the Display Raw Data and Separate Completed/Not Completed checkboxes are NOT included. Similarly, the Parameters for TBT Comments by Task are identical to those for TBT Task Trending except the Display Raw Data checkbox is NOT included. The Parameters for TBT New Personnel Training (left) include the Separate Completed/Not Completed checkbox also found in the TBT Template Trending Parameters. Waivers: Although separate from TBT on the Widgets menu (below), Waivers Parameters (right) provides data on waivers made to Task Based Training. Go/No Go: The Parameters for Go/No Go Override Trends (left) and FCIF Reads (right) are similar in function. However, FCIF Reads has options to display All Posted FCIFs in Date Range or Active Only FCIFs in Date Range. Additionally, an option to Select Read Requirement allows for a single or several FCIFs to be processed. Use the Ctrl key to select more than one FCIF.

6 Self-Inspection Log: The Parameters (left) for the Self- Inspection Log are self-explanatory. It is the only Widget that, with the appropriate permissions, can be edited. Make inputs on the Widget (right) using the controls at the bottom A Populated Inspection and Trends Window: As soon as the OK button is selected for each Widget, it is Run and the results appear on the Layout screen (the Form 8 Tool, Discrepancies, Evaluations, and Less Than Q Widgets for JB Charleston are presented below). NOTE: Data results can be ordered by one or more fields by dragging the header of the column by which you wish to order, into the window at the top of the widget. Dragging multiple columns will create subgroups ordered by those additional columns. When the data is exported to Excel, these groupings will be maintained in the created Excel file. 1 Select the Parameters icon to 2 change them for a Widget. 1 5 Expand a Widget by selecting the Enlarge icon. Continued on the next page. 3 Select Add (1) to create an entry or highlight an existing entry and select Edit (2) or View (3). These three actions open the Add/Edit Self-Inspection Log dialog box (right). Make inputs/edits or complete the review then select OK. Highlight an existing entry and select Delete (4) to remove it. NOTE: Self-Inspection Log entries are only editable for 96 hours. Editing can only be accomplished by the individual who created the log entry, i.e., you cannot edit someone else's entries A Global Parameters icon can change Base, Orgs, and Dates (but NOT the MDS) for all Widgets in a Layout. However, this overwrites individual Widget Parameters. 3 Run a Widget to update it. NOTE: Widget results are NOT saved as part of a layout; each time the Layout is opened, each Widget will need to be Run to get updated data results. 4 Remove a Widget from the Layout by selecting the X icon.

7 7 A Populated Inspection and Trends Window (cont): From Step 5 above, the Form 8 Widget was expanded and the Inspections and Trends window changes as seen below. NOTE: All Widgets remain on the screen when one or more are expanded. NOTE: Only two Widgets can be expanded at a time; the data presented is limited by screen size Use the scroll bar at the bottom to 6 view all information. NOTE: Columns can be dragged and dropped in different locations in order to customize the grid layout. However, those columns left of the vertical red line (8) can NOT be moved to the right of the red line (and vice-versa). NOTE: Clicking on a column header groups or sorts the column (e.g., clicking Org (9) will group the aircrew members by subordinate organization or clicking on Name (10) reverses the alphabetical sort from A Z to Z A). Right-clicking anywhere in the desired grid opens the menu (right) presenting options to reset the grid or any sorts or else zoom in/out on the grid. Reset Grid returns columns to their original locations. Reset Sort restores columns to their original sort order. Reset Zoom returns the zoom to the original setting. 8 Results from a Widget may be exported to Excel by selecting Export Grid to Excel. 6 Select the Switch to normal size icon to return an expanded Widget to the same size as the others. NOTE: When more than one Widget is expanded, switching any one of them to normal size will switch all that are expanded back to normal size. NOTE: Group by a particular column by dragging that column header to the container (7).
