3 OWB Spport OWB was a free ETL tool distribted with Oracle Database Server Enterprise Edition Oracle has dropped the OWB from Oracle Database 12.x distribtion bt will spport the 11.x OWB with 12.1 database server OWB will be not be spported once the Oracle Database 12.1 release has reached its End of Premier Spport

4 Oracle Data Integrator (ODI) ODI is the ETL tool chosen by Ellcian to replace OWB This tool incldes the fll Application Site to implement data integration soltions Prodcts inclded in a fll distribtion are: Weblogic Application Server Oracle Data Integrator Stdio ODI Master Repository and ODI Work Repository Sorces and Targets (In or case Banner and ODS/EDW/DSR) Rntime Standalone Agent

8 Upgrade Paths Install and setp ODS from scratch Recommended if yo don t have cstomization done to ODS Will be a clean install with no OWB objects and repository left in the database Upgrade the existing ODS environment If there are a lot of cstomization done then pgrade path can be taken Will have to cleanp OWB objects and repository after the pgrade is done

9 Centennial Infrastrctre for ODS 9 Storage is EMC VNX-5200 with all SSD drives Oracle Sparc T5-8 machine 30 thick threaded virtal cores / 512G RAM for ODS server 92 thick threaded virtal cores / 1TB RAM for Banner server 38 thin threaded virtal cores / 64G RAM for Cognos server

34 ODS9.0 Upgrade Set yo environment to Banner DB Make sre yo nlock yor system accont in BANNER DB and reset password to a known vale Change yo directory to /software/banpg/ods_edw/ods/ods90000/banner/pgrade and modify login.sql to reflect yor environment Rn the change_password_before_pgrade.sql to change passwords of defalt acconts in BannerDB Rn sqlpls Rn sqlpls Set yo environment to ODS database Modify the login.sql in /software/banpg/ods_edw/ods/ods90000/ods/pgrade to reflect yor ODS environment Rn the statement sqlpls Rn the Rename_script_from_SCT_to_BL.sql as odsmgr Rn sqlpls
