3 EXHAUST - THRUST REVERSER - MAINTENANCE LOCK ASSEMBLY REPLACEMENT 1. PLANNING INFORMATION A. Effectivity Airplane - Cessna Citation Model 680 Sovereign with NORDAM Thrust Reverser Assemblies P/N 07ND and 07ND , T/R Serial Numbers SVN001; SVN003 to SVN332. B. Concurrent Requirements None. C. Reason The maintenance lock assemblies used to secure the thrust reverser doors in the deployed position during maintenance cannot be installed. The maintenance lock assembly is too large to fit in the thrust reverser actuator assembly. D. Description This service bulletin gives instructions to replace the maintenance lock assemblies. An optional procedure is also provided for those choosing to modify their existing maintenance lock assemblies. E. Compliance NON-QUANTIFIED TIME. This service bulletin shall be incorporated at the next available maintenance. F. Approval This service bulletin has been reviewed by the appropriate governmental authority and the repairs and changes herein obey applicable Aviation Regulations and are APPROVED for the Cessna Citation Model 680 Sovereign. G. Manpower Approximately 0.5 labor hour is necessary to replace the maintenance lock assemblies for each airplane. Approximately 2.0 labor hours are necessary to modify four existing maintenance lock assemblies for each airplane. NOTE: This man hour estimate must be used for planning functions only. H. 6 3. ACCOMPLISHMENT INSTRUCTIONS SERVICE BULLETIN A. Replace Maintenance Lock Assemblies. NOTE: Use Replacement SB Kit No. CITSV (1) Replace the existing four maintenance lock assemblies with four new maintenance lock assemblies (07ND ). B. Optional Rework Instructions for P/N 07ND and P/N 07ND Maintenance Lock Assemblies. NOTE: NOTE: NOTE: Use Rework SB Kit No. CITSV See Figure 2 if reworking P/N 07ND Maintenance Lock Assembly. See Figure 3 if reworking P/N 07ND Maintenance Lock Assembly. (1) Carefully remove the sleeve (MS ) from the wire rope attached to the lock (See Figure 1). (2) Remove the wire rope from the lock (See Figure 1). (3) Remove the tab flush with surface A. (4) Remove material from surface A to achieve inch width. (5) Remove material from surface B to achieve inch width. (6) Break all sharp edges. WARNING: CHEMICAL CONVERSION COATING IS CLASSIFIED AS A HAZARDOUS MATERIAL WHICH MAY CAUSE INJURY OR ILLNESS IF NOT PROPERLY USED. THIS PRODUCT SHOULD BE USED ONLY IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE APPLICABLE MANUFACTURER'S MATERIAL SAFETY DATA SHEET. (7) Apply chemical conversion coat (MIL-C-5541, Class 1A) to the bare surfaces of the metal using a brush. WARNING: EPOXY PRIMER IS CLASSIFIED AS A HAZARDOUS MATERIAL WHICH MAY CAUSE INJURY OR ILLNESS IF NOT PROPERLY USED. THIS PRODUCT SHOULD BE USED ONLY IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE MANUFACTURER S MATERIAL SAFETY DATA SHEET. (8) Mix epoxy primer base, hardener, and reducer referring to the manufacture s instructions. (9) Apply epoxy primer to the bare surfaces of the metal and allow to dry. (10) Apply top coat (Insignia Red No ) as necessary to cover primer. (11) Allow the top coat to completely dry. (12) Insert the wire rope through the hole in the lock (See Figure 1). (13) Secure the wire rope end to the wire rope with a new sleeve (MS ) (See Figure 1). Page 4 of 10

7 C. Optional Rework Instructions for P/N 07ND Maintenance Lock Assemblies. NOTE: See Figure 4 if reworking P/N 07ND Maintenance Lock Assembly. (1) Carefully remove the sleeve (MS ) from the wire rope attached to the lock (See Figure 1). (2) Remove the wire rope from the lock (See Figure 1). (3) Remove the tab flush with surface A. (4) Remove material from surface B to achieve inch width. (5) Break all sharp edges. WARNING: CHEMICAL CONVERSION COATING IS CLASSIFIED AS A HAZARDOUS MATERIAL WHICH MAY CAUSE INJURY OR ILLNESS IF NOT PROPERLY USED.
