3 TITLE NAVIGATION - INSTALLATION OF SCN FOR UNS-1 FMS EFFECTIVITY MODEL SERIAL NUMBERS 560 (Citation Ultra) thru (Citation Encore) thru This service bulletin only applies to airplanes with 802.X software. REASON To install SCN software due to erroneous UNS-1 FMS information displayed on the PFD. DESCRIPTION This service bulletin provides instructions to return the UNS-1 FMS to Cessna for upgrade to SCN software. COMPLIANCE RECOMMENDED. This service bulletin should be accomplished at a scheduled maintenance period or phase inspection. A service bulletin published by Cessna Aircraft Company may be recorded as completed in an aircraft log only when the following requirements are satisfied: 1) The mechanic must complete all of the instructions in the service bulletin, including the intent therein. 2) The mechanic must correctly use and install all applicable parts supplied with the service bulletin kit. Only with written authorization from Cessna Aircraft Company can substitute parts or rebuilt parts be used to replace new parts. 3) The mechanic or airplane owner must use the technical data in the service bulletin only as approved and published. 4) The mechanic or airplane owner must apply the information in the service bulletin only to aircraft serial numbers identified in the Effectivity section of the bulletin. 5) The mechanic or airplane owner must use maintenance practices that are identified as acceptable standard practices in the aviation industry and governmental regulations. No individual or corporate organization other than Cessna Aircraft Company is authorized to make or apply any changes to a Cessna-issued service bulletin, service letter, or flight manual supplement without prior written consent from Cessna Aircraft Company. Cessna Aircraft Company is not responsible for the quality of maintenance performed to comply with this document, unless the maintenance is accomplished at a Cessna-owned Citation Service Center. Prepare the airplane for maintenance. A. Make sure that all switches are in the OFF/NORM position. B. Disconnect electrical power from the airplane. (1) Disconnect the airplane battery. (2) Disconnect external electrical power. C. Attach maintenance warning tags to the battery and external power receptacle that have "DO NOT CONNECT ELECTRICAL POWER - MAINTENANCE IN PROGRESS" writtenonthem. 2. Remove the UNS-1 FMS computer. (Refer to the Model 560 Maintenance Manual, Chapter 34, UNS-1CSP Flight Management System - Maintenance Practices.) NOTE: Airplanes with Dual UNS, two units will need to be removed. A. Send the UNS-1 FMS to Cessna for modification. NOTE: Please make sure that the UNS-1 FMS is protected from electrostatic discharge by placing them in a static shielding bag, and make sure to protect it with bubble wrap or other vibration absorbing packing materials. 3. Install the UNS-1 FMS computer. (Refer to the Model 560 Maintenance Manual, Chapter 34, UNS-1CSP Flight Management System - Maintenance Practices.) NOTE: Airplanes with Dual UNS, two units will need to be installed. 4. Prepare the airplane for power. A. Make sure that all switches are in the OFF/NORM position. B. Remove maintenance warning tags to the battery and external power receptacle that have "DO NOT CONNECT ELECTRICAL POWER - MAINTENANCE IN PROGRESS" writtenonthem. C. Connect the airplane battery. D. Connect external electrical power. 5. Configure the UNS FMS as follows: A. Press the ON/OFF DIM key. After five seconds of warming up, the FMS will do a self-test. If there are no faults found, the initiation page will be displayed. B. Press the ACCEPT (L5) key to initialize the UNS FMS. NOTE: Date, time and position do not need to be entered into the system. 5 C. Push MSG (R1) and review any messages. D. Push RETURN (R5) to go back to the initialization page. E. Push (R1) to highlight the date field and enter 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, and 9. Push enter. F. Push DATA to show the data 1/4 page. G. Push MAINT (R5) to go to the maint 1/1 page. H. Push CONFIG (L1) to go to the first configuration page. I. Push EDIT (R1) to change the configuration. NOTE: DISPLAY (L1) will change to STORE (R1). NOTE: All of the following changes must be entered before pushing STORE because the system will restart immediately after. J. The following format should be followed for the aircraft ID: CITATION ULTRA OR ENCORE S/N XXXX. Where XXXX represents the airplane serial number. BK. To save the new configuration, push STORE (R1) two times. The system will now reset itself and initiate power on self tests. NOTE: If you push return at this point, none of the options will be stored. The configuration module will retain its previous configuration. BL. To display the airshow of additional video input on the UNS-1 FMS, select the ON/OFF DIM function key. Select the display option (R4). The display option window will allow you to select the video option. 6. Do a check of the software version. A. Cycle the airplane power. B. Make sure that software version is now displayed on the bottom RH corner of initialization page of the FMS and that it passes the self test. 7. Power down the airplane and remove the external power. 8. Update the 560 Citation Ultra or Encore FAA Approved Airplane Flight Manual. NOTE: Look at the configuration codes listed in the applicable supplement and/or in Section 1 of the FAA Approved Airplane Flight Manual to make sure all changed crew procedures or limitations are complied with. A. Make sure that Supplement 56FMA-S74-03 or later is inserted in the 560 Citation Ultra FAA Approved Airplane Flight Manual (56FMA). Page 10 Revision 1 - February 22, 2012

13 B. Make sure that Supplement 56FMB-S63-03 or later is inserted in the 560 Citation Encore FAA Approved Airplane Flight Manual (56FMB). 9. Make sure the flight crew receives the Flight Crew Operations Summary, which shows the operational changes that are a result of the accomplishment of this service bulletin. 10. Record that this service bulletin has been completed. A. Complete a Maintenance Transaction Report. B. Put a copy of the completed Maintenance Transaction Report in the airplane logbook. C.
