2 Application Browser Intro For the LUCIA Matrix models, we have created an intuitive software package that makes it easy to set up one or more LUCIA amplifiers in any real life application. Everything you need to configure the devices can be accessed from one simple view that works offline. All the settings are written to a device later on with the Program button (bottom right corner). 2

3 Application Browser Installation There is no installer. Place the ApplicationBrowser.exe where you want it. For instance: On the desktop In My documents Or someplace else that you have write privileges to The software will create a folder for the saving of applications in: C:\Users\username\Documents\LUCIA Applications 3

4 Application selector For selecting the starting point (in red below) The application selector allows you to select an application template to use as a starting point for your current installation job. Browse the library of typical application templates made by our product specialists here at TC Group. Save your own custom made application setups and they will appear in the list for easy access later on. 4

5 Application view Overview of the products in the application (in red) In the Application view (the center section), you get an overview of all the LUCIA amplifiers in the application. You can rename amplifiers, label inputs and outputs, and add or remove amplifiers from the application. The information icon will provide a short description of the application. 5 Select one of the amplifiers for to view and edit the settings for that amplifier.

6 Block diagram Shows the main functional blocks (in red below) The simplified block diagram is shown for navigation purposes. Select which of the four blocks Input Matrix Output Control that you wish to view or edit the settings for. The selected block will get its frame highlighted in blue and the view beneath (orange above) will change its contents and show the relevant parameters for it. 6

7 Block diagram Inputs For each of the four inputs you will be able to choose between a list of level and EQ presets to match the input source. A new release in May 2014 will allow the addition of user defined custom settings. 7

8 Block diagram Matrix At the heart of the LUCIA M variants is the Matrix, which allows users to route and mix any input to any output. Users can carefully adjust the level at each patch point using the slider to the right of the matrix. There are also presets for some anticipated applications that can be selected at the bottom. Please note! To avoid risks for errors and misunderstandings the view is disabled when a GPI control has selected to be a Source Selector. The presets shown are those the GPI can select between in this case. 8

9 Block diagram Outputs Select the block named OUTPUTS to configure the output processing. Here you can select a preset per channel from a comprehensive selection of Tannoy loudspeakers as well as some generic ones. This will adjust the amplifier s output filters and dynamic processing algorithms to perform optimally with the selected type of speaker. The ADLC (Automatic Dynamic Loudness Contouring) function that gives optimal sound balance no matter what the listening level can be enabled per channel to the right of the preset selector. It is also possible to create user defined settings. To generate these, select Custom at the bottom of the list. Check the website for updates with more presets and more functionality here! 9

10 Block diagram Outputs Custom edit If you select Custom at the bottom of an output preset selector, then you will get the chance to create custom filter for the 4 filter sections for that output. In PRESET you can select complex types that require multiple filter sections such as Linkwitz-Riley. By clicking on the icon under Band you can select the type of filter that you want to define. The filter type selected determines which of the GAIN/FREQUENCY/WIDTH parameters that you can to edit to the right of the icon. Exit by clicking OK to confirm that you want these settings. Please note! This is offline editing, so you still need to press Program to get this to the device (unless you are in synced mode). 10

11 Block diagram Control (GPIO) The control view is used to view and define the functionality for the GPI ports of the device. For each of the two GPI it is possible to select what type of function the input controls with the MODE selector (level/mute/wake/source select). Once the MODE is selected it is possible to view the predefined PRESETs that are available for the selected MODE. The PRESET box simply explains the functionality if wake or mute was selected. For the level and source select modes there are several different presets to choose between. There will be an April release with significant improvements here! 11

12 12 Save the application And share it! The software works offline with the selected application. Please note that selecting a different application will clear everything you have done if you haven t saved it. The only ways to get the settings anywhere are with Save and Program. Save will store the application with its settings for all the devices in it. You will then get the chance to give it a name and enter a description of it. Once this is done it will be visible among the other applications in the Application list. Sharing with others No matter where you chose to place the software, it will store each application that you save as a *.SAPL file in this folder: C:\Users \username\documents\lucia Applications This is where it looks for applications so you can share applications with other users be copying and pasting files to and from this folder. 13 Program a device Nothing happens until you program The software works offline with the selected application. In order to get the settings to a device within the application you need to follow the steps outlined here. 1. Select the which device in the Application view that you would like it to be programmed to be by clicking on that device. The selected device will get a blue frame. 2. Connect the USB cable between the device and your computer. The Program button will be enabled as soon as a LUCIA *M device is connected. 3. Press Program. As soon as the settings have been transferred there will be a confirmation shown. 4. In this confirmation dialog you have the option to select that additional edits to this device gets written automatically as soon as they are made as long as it is connected. Press OK to exit. 13

14 Sync enabled Could be referred to as online mode The software can remain in an online mode for the selected device if you select Enable Synchronization in the programing confirmation dialog. Once this is selected the selected device will have an orange frame and the program button will be orange and show Sync Enabled. This especially attractive if you wish to create a custom EQ. 14

15 Sync enabled Could be referred to as online mode Any edit will trigger an automatic programming of the connected LUCIA for as long as it is in this mode. There will be a circular animation in the selected amplifier block while it updates the device. It will automatically leave the Sync Enabled mode if Another device is selected Sync Enabled is pressed 15
