3 1. IMPORTING STUDIES Click the Import icon (or goto file - import - import files ) Choose the files you want to import, and click Open Click copy files, not copy links

EXPORTING IMAGES Click on the study you want to export and click the Export icon (or click file - export - export to DICOM files... ) You can also export multiple studies by holding shift and selecting them (or by clicking Edit - Select All ) You can also export individual series within a study (by selecting the series, right clicking it, and pressing Export... )

5 2. EXPORTING IMAGES Select your disk on the left hand side Ensure that Add DICOMDIR file and Include ROI... are checked Then click Choose

6 3. CUTTING DOWN A SERIES To save a cut down series, first you should open it up into the viewer (by double clicking on it) Then go to File - Export - Export to DICOM files

7 3. CUTTING DOWN A SERIES Make sure All images... is selected Then drag the sliders until the portion of the scan you require is selected Now choose a name, and click OK The series will now appear under the patients list of exams You can now delete the old series

CHANGING THE DEFAULT WINDOWING You may want to export a CT different default window settings: First open your series in the viewer (double click on it) Re-window it so that it looks right, and then click file - export - export to Dicom In the box that appears, make sure All images... and As displayed... rather than As stored... is checked. Now re-name your series, and click OK

9 5. ANONYMISING AN ULTRASOUND - METHOD 1 Open the ultrasound in the viewer (Double click on it) Select the green rectangle tool Draw around the image, excluding the patients details Click the Shutter tool Export the study (making sure All images of the series is ticked)

ANONYMISING AN ULTRASOUND - METHOD 2 Open the ultrasound in the viewer (by double clicking it Click on the small arrow next to the green line in the toolbar, and select the rectangle shape Draw the rectangle over the data you want to cover up Click ROI in the menu at the top, and click Propogate selected ROI In the window which appears, make sure entire series is selected, and click OK

11 5. ANONYMISING AN ULTRASOUND - METHOD 2 Now click ROI in the menu again, and select Set pixel values to... In the next window make sure the new value is set to 0, and click OK Now scroll through to check that your study is anonymised Now delete the green box, by clicking Delete all ROIs in this series in the ROI menu Next, navigate to File - Export - Export to Dicom Click All images in the series, and change the name to whatever you want. Then click OK

ANONYMISING AN ULTRASOUND - METHOD 2 Now go back to your database window, where you will see your new study within the patient s list of scans Now check it has worked, and then DELETE the old un-anonymised series (To delete, you right click on the series, and select Delete selected thumbnails or Delete Selected Lines )

13 6. COMBINING STUDIES Select the multiple studies you wish to combine and click Anonymise If StudyInstanceUID is not in the list, you must find it and add it

14 6. COMBINING STUDIES Now change PatientsName, PatientID, and StudyInstanceUID to something different Click Replace (Do not use the native Merge Selected Studies option within Osirix, as it is very unreliable)

15 7. RE-ORDERING A SERIES Click on the small arrow next to a patients name Now select an individual series Now click the Metadata icon

16 7. RE-ORDERING A SERIES Click edit, and make sure the Series dot is selected Now scroll down to find SeriesNumber, double click the box and type a new number Press Enter on your keyboard
