We corrected an error where the multiple wells Curve View always defaulted to use imperial measurement units. HRS-9 / R-1.1 Release Notes 1 March 29, 2012

15. We now make sure that all instances of a log are removed from the project and database when you delete it. 16. All well changes (except log curve changes) will be automatically updated from the project to the well database. 17. In the Well Data Explorer, we changed the default not to show the culture data to avoid slowing down the map display if the culture data set is too large. 18. At the prompt to delete a P-wave log, we modified the default buttons to not remove the check shot corrected logs and to not recalculate the computed logs. 19. When creating your own well tops, you can now choose from a list of top names already used in the well database. (TTS ) Seismic 20. While importing SEG-Y data, we now avoid unnecessary data scanning when reloading the output volume by making sure that the header format matches the expected format. (TTS ) 21. We fixed a problem in SEG-Y import where the Pro4D volume could not be created if all selected sub-volumes are already pre-loaded. (TTS ) 22. We fixed a problem in SEG-Y import reading the two byte header shot point field. (TTS ) 23. We corrected a problem using non-standard SEG-Y header locations. You can now import and export SEG-Y volumes with the cross-line and in-line values stored in any header location. 24. The Option, "Save format to file.." in the SEG-Y loading dialog now correctly saves the latest changes. (TTS ). 25. You can now change the header locations for multiple SEG-Y files during import without restarting the load process. (TTS ) 26. Using the trace header editor in SEG-Y import, you can now multiply a two byte header value by a fractional value. (TTS ) 27. We corrected the way we determine which version of OpenWorks is installed on your system before reading OpenWorks seismic (SeisWorks) volumes. 28. You can now change the seismic binning type between offset and angle in the Seismic Data Explorer. (TTS ) 29. You can now import OpenWorks seismic (SeisWorks) depth volumes. Horizon: 30. We corrected an error when importing and merging a new file into an existing horizon. 31. Exporting multiple 2D horizons at the same time will now output all horizon amplitudes correctly. (TTS ) Data Slice: 32. Data Slices are now exported with the correct amplitudes. (TTS ) 33. Removed a slow down when handling a large number of slices during a Project Save operation. Wavelet: 34. We fixed an error deleting wavelets using the right-click menu on project data tree. (TTS ) HRS-9 / R-1.1 Release Notes 2 March 29, 2012

Processes Log Correlation 35. Composite trace extraction correctly uses the modified depth-time table after a stretch and squeeze operation, and the composite trace will now appear in the correct place. (TTS ) 36. We added a warning message and provided an option to remove samples if the time-depth curve does not increase with increasing depth. (TTS ) 37. The log correlation process will now work correctly when a volume name has a dot (. ) in it. 38. We made sure that the wavelet listed in the Log Correlation parameters is consistent with the wavelet drawn in the Log Correlation window after the Reset button is pressed. (TTS ) 39. We made some improvements in Log Correlation to handle multiple-2d data. 40. In Log Correlation we made sure that the user-specified window was set correctly. 41. We made sure that the cross correlation plot is drawn correctly when the depth-time is changed, that persistent data is read correctly and that the correlation window markers are drawn when running log correlation. 42. We fixed an error plotting horizons in the correlation track. 43. We added a warning dialog when the user pushes the stretch and squeeze button while no tie pair exists. (TTS ) 44. We made sure that the log display was redrawn after a Log Correlation stretch and after updating the synthetic trace. 45. A confirmation dialog has been added if the users want to cancel the process. 46. We changed the default to always re-extract the composite trace for a deviated well. 47. We added an option to restore default values in the extract composite trace dialog. 48. The output log created from Log Correlation will not be set to active if the input log is not already an active log. 49. A log created during Log Correlation can no longer be selected for deletion when the user modifies the deviated geometry. Log Editing 50. We made improvements to the Log Editing display. Log Processing 51. We corrected the parameter entry limitation for running Trend Analysis. (TTS ) 52. We added validation of the corner frequency parameters in the Frequency Filter option. 53. The selected input wells list is now the same in both the advanced Log Math dialog and in the basic dialog. 54. The default constant values are now displayed correctly on the Reversed Gardner s Equation dialog. 55. All input logs are displayed after running a Log Transformation option. Seismic Processing 56. Wavelet Deconvolution now works correctly on Windows 64 if no wavelet was selected in the list. (TTS ) HRS-9 / R-1.1 Release Notes 3 March 29, 2012

57. You can now copy the AVO Fluid Factor. (TTS ) 58. We improved Trace Maths performance by avoiding unnecessary reading of unused horizons. (TTS ) 59. The Sparse Spike Detection process is now alphabetically listed in the Process Utility list. 60. Processes Cross Correlation, Predictability and Shifts will now assign the correct data amplitude type to the output volumes. This will facilitate the default selection of color keys. 61. We removed the unused Advanced tab in the dialog for the Inverse Q Filter. (TTS ) 62. We corrected an error in Trim Statics when applying multiple cross-correlation windows with an increment greater than the target window size. We also improved the wording of some parameters to make them easier to understand. (TTS ) 63. We changed default for the Shaping Filter not to output auxiliary data. 64. We corrected problems setting the default output seismic name. (TTS ) 65. We handle dead traces for Trace Math correctly now. 66. We fixed a Chained Processing error found in the analysis tool when plotting a post-stack data output after conversion from a pre-stack input. For example, white gaps were seen between two traces in a post-stack output view of the CDP stack process. (TTS ) 67. We now correctly assign the output start time for Volume Curvature based on center of the analysis window. Horizon & Map Processing 68. Overwriting a Map Maths output no longer creates a blank map. (TTS ) 69. Advanced Map Maths for horizon processing now works with spatial zones. (TTS ) 70. You can now create a depth to time conversion of a horizon using a velocity table in depth. (TTS ) 71. We improved the design of the Map Math dialog. (TTS ) 72. We corrected the number of digits displayed for the shift value in the Copy Horizon process. (TTS ) 73. We now warn you if you attempt to overwrite an existing horizon with the Copy Horizon process. (Task ) 74. In Advanced Map Maths, the Output Value Type defaults to domain type for horizons, and to amplitude type for data slices. (TTS ) 75. The Advanced Map Math option now handles restricted zones and deal with maps that differ in geometries. 76. Advanced Map Math now works correctly when overwriting maps. (TTS ) 77. For Advanced Map Maths, removing any rows of the Input will be shown on the screen. Seismic Velocity Field 78. You can now create a single velocity field for a multiple 2D survey by using separate sets of time-velocity pairs from each 2D line. (TTS ) 79. We improved handling of the velocity field when multiple tables were used for multiple2d lines. 80. We improved the velocity field access speed when using a large time-velocity table and without the user-defined grid. HRS-9 / R-1.1 Release Notes 4 March 29, 2012

Wavelet Processing 81. The Flatten on Tops/Horizon display option now works correctly and the curves are displayed in the correct position. (TTS ) Multi-well Wavelet Analysis 82. We now report the total synthetic correlation error in the Error Profile plot. It was incorrectly showing zero all the time. (TTS ) AVO Analysis 83. We added warning messages in the offset scaling analysis when the specified analysis location has no valid data and when the analysis window is out of range. (TTS ) 84. We added an option to annotate the legend at the bottom of the plot in the Pick Analysis display of the Seismic View. (TTS ) 85. Copying an Rp/Rs volume as Fluid Factor will now work correctly. AVO Modeling 86. You can now create zero offset synthetics correctly from the AVO offset synthetic option. (TTS ) 87. The AVO synthetic option does not cause an extra track to be added to the well display. (TTS ) 88. We set the (inline, cross-line) number to (1, 1) if the modeled well is not mapped in the wellseismic mapping table. This allows seismic processing functions to work better on the synthetic gather. 89. For Log FRM, the widgets are no longer hidden based on a user selected option. Instead, they are enabled or disabled accordingly. (TTS , TTS ) 90. We modified the FRM reservoir interval to list tops based on the individual well rather than all tops in database. 91. In the FRM QC Plot we prevent a software crash when trying to rearrange the tracks, and we removed some irrelevant context sensitive right-click menu items. 92. In the FRM QC Plot we fixed an error in setting the output log names of the Output QC logs. 93. We renamed the FRM QC window Export option to "Output QC logs" and moved it out of the File->Export menu. The current option is implemented as a way to select the QC logs to create in the well when the user presses OK on FRM dialog. Previously, the location and wording of the option implied exporting the logs to an ASCII file. To achieve the export option, the user will need to first create the additional logs in FRM and then use Well Data Explorer->Well Options->Export group of logs. 94. In Systematic changes, we now include the option to interpolate across bad values. (TTS ) Inversion & Inversion Analysis HRS-9 / R-1.1 Release Notes 5 March 29, 2012

95. For Pre-stack Inversion Well Data Cross Plotting, there was an error in getting the deviated well log curves from a wrong datum. Now the software is corrected to plot TVD data from SRD. (TTS ). Inversion Analysis 96. We corrected an error in reporting the relative error of the inverted synthetic in the Error Profile plot. It was incorrectly reported as the correlation value instead of the relative error value. (TTS ) 97. In cross plotting of inverted results when a filter option is used for the original log data, the filtered version will now be used in the cross plot with the inverted results. Before this update, only the original log data were used in the cross plot regardless if the filter option was chosen or not. (TTS ). 98. We added the option to set the Inversion Analysis Correlation Calculation Window to the same values as used in the Log Correlation process if the window was previously set in Log Correlation. (TTS ) 99. We fixed the Reset option of the Correlation Calculation Window dialog, which was inoperative before. Now, it will reset the calculation windows to the default seismic processing range. (TTS ) 100. We fixed the horizontal Fixed-Grid annotation option for curve tracks. Before it was using 10 divisions only and now you can control it with any number of divisions. (TTS ) 101. We improved the information displayed in the cursor reader yellow tooltip. (TTS ) 102. Specific horizons can now be selected for plotting. Before, all horizons in the project were always plotted. (TTS ) 103. You can now control the track plotting order of additional curves. (TTS ) 104. We fixed an error where the display scale, when in zoomed mode, was reset when inversion parameters were changed. (TTS ) 105. We fixed an issue where the horizon data were not populating correctly when both depth and time domain horizons exist in the same project. (TTS ) 106. We fixed a problem where the model tracks disappeared when running in "Modeling Only mode and when changing the plot parameters. (TTS ) 107. You can now control the Top track width for multiple wells displayed in the Inversion Analysis window. (TTS ) LithoSI 108. We added a right-click menu option for copying a LithoSI session We fixed the session Rename option We added additional tracks in the well display to show a comparison of the input and the computed lithology log for each training set. Pro4D HRS-9 / R-1.1 Release Notes 6 March 29, 2012

Batch 111. For Apply Phase and Time Shifts, we constructed a new table to allow users to update the cross-correlation phase and time from a single table We multi-threaded the "Apply Shaping Filter" process We multi-threaded the "Pre-condition Time Shifts" process The batch program will not save the project if it was opened by another program. This reduces the possibility of losing changes on that project. Windows and Scenes Cross Plot Window 115. We added an option for selecting "Depth" as an X or Y attribute in log cross plotting The program will no longer fail if the Color Key window is blank and you click its Apply button. (TTS ) The secondary data scaling now works correctly. (TTS ) 118. Rotation of the regression line now works correctly We added an option for filtering well names based on the log types they contain. Map Window 120. We corrected the problem of the normalize option preventing the modification of colors. (TTS ) 121. You can now select zones and edit them directly on the map using the editing pop-up menus. (TTS ) 122. Geometry subsets are now displayed correctly when the map size is changed. (TTS ) 123. The map now draws the horizons as they are picked. (TTS ) 124. We added a vertical size control and automatically reset the height of the title block after editing the title text. (TTS ) 125. We corrected an error in drawing well symbols on the map. Some of the symbols were shown incorrectly with a black color solid fill The color key default scan ranges are now changed back to the minimum and maximum ranges minus one standard deviation as was done in CE8. Release HRS-9/R-1 used the absolute minimum and maximum In some data conditions, the Edit Color Key Range dialog gave incorrect upper and lower bounds checking values. (TTS ) 128. We avoided a crash in the software while the map was busy loading one data set but at the same time the user was trying to access some other map data in the view We fixed a possible error in color key name mismatch when a map has multiple 3D survey slices or horizons on top of each others The Fit-to-View option for 3D surveys is improved. We have reduced the empty space around the survey area We added new option to set the same color key to all maps in the same window. This is a right-click menu option from the Color Key drawing box. HRS-9 / R-1.1 Release Notes 7 March 29, 2012

132. We added two short cut (fast) keys: <Alt-Z> for 'Zoom Extent' and <Crtl-Z> for 'Rubberband Zoom We sped up the drawing of culture data We added a quick access pulldown menu under the View menu to turn on and off culture display We fixed an error in hardcopy printing where the picture was vertically shifted to accommodate the title area The grid lines are displayed behind other objects when creating a hardcopy print. Seismic Window 137. When selecting a cross plot Zone Set for the color display the required data will now be automatically loaded into the view. (TTS ) 138. Improved the plotting speed due to flickering of the mouse over the seismic window. The slowdown occurred when many horizons were displayed, or interactive picking was done because some of the data was unnecessarily redrawn as the mouse was moved We corrected an error in plotting the inserted curve of a deviated well in the depth domain and when the Seismic Reference Datum (SRD) is set. This only happened when plotting deviated logs on depth seismic. The inserted log may have been placed incorrectly in its overlay position on top of the seismic. It displayed at the correct depth mapping but not the correct trace position mapping. (TTS ) 140. Added highlighting of favourite wells in the jump-to-well pull-down selector. Favourite wells should now show as blue highlight in the jump-to-well pop-up menu of the seismic display. (TTS ) 141. We added azimuth angle annotation. You can now turn on azimuth trace header annotation in the seismic display We corrected the interpretation of the depth unit. Previously when setting the depth scale as feet/inch it was interpreted as feet/cm Non-standard seismic volumes output from Systematic Changes will now show volume sorting access controls annotated as thickness or porosity instead of inline or xline We implemented the Details option when opening seismic from the project. (TTS ) 145. We corrected the Color Key / Data Range dialog so that it displays the correct colors in the seismic view, even when the "Lower value" is set greater than the "Upper value". (TTS ) 146. The horizon picking parameters dialog has been widened so that the parameters can be read properly. (TTS ) 147. The title of the Seismic View now matches Seismic View contents without having to click "Apply" or "OK" buttons more than once. (TTS ) 148. We implemented the Export a Trace option from the right-click menu of the Seismic View. (TTS ) 149. We now get the correct measurement unit from the seismic volume when plotting together with pre-stack horizon picks. View3D Window 150. We corrected an error in inserting a deviated well when the Seismic Reference Datum (SRD) is set. (TTS ) HRS-9 / R-1.1 Release Notes 8 March 29, 2012

151. When the brick format was used for a 3D survey, there was an error in positioning. This error is now corrected. (TTS ) 152. In some cases, when the brick format was used, the extreme amplitude values of the volume were converted from extreme positive to negative due to a decimation error. This error has now been avoided The memory requirements are now calculated correctly for bricked format during volume loading We fixed an error that happened when plot data was sent from the Seismic Window to the View3d window. This error only occurred if the plot data title had a space in it but the volume name did not Pressing the Apply button of the Horizon menu, when no horizon was loaded in the view now works correctly We fixed a display problem with the well log amplitude limits Seismic volumes are now shown correctly according to their respective domains (depth or time) using the domain unit of the volumes We fixed a top annotation error for deviated wells When switching between depth and time domains, the reference geometry will be reset properly for the new domain using the best available data in the new display domain in the following order: seismic, attribute and then horizon. This will ensure the well and the seismic volumes are redrawn properly in the new display domain Well logs are now correctly re-plotted after switching between time and depth domain We improved the extrapolation of curves when the depth-time curve is shorter than the deviated well path. Wells Window 162. We solved a problem that in active log display mode, the display becomes confused about which version of the active log (the old or new one) it is displaying and will not allow replacement of the active log with its predecessor The seismic data track annotation will now be correct after you re-arrange the track order in the Log Track Window. (TTS ) 164. We fixed the send-to-back option when multiple curves are in one track We improved volumetric fill option On the seismic panel, we corrected the use of several parameters so that the input values are honoured. These include trace Direction, Excursion, Mean, Standard Deviation, Color Sample Resolution and the Fill peak values. (TTS ) 167. We permit displaying seismic volumes generated from systematic changes, where inlines and cross-lines have different labels We added control of the capture distance for 2D lines displayed in a Seismic Panel We made improvements for handling multiple-2d lines displayed in a Seismic Panel All the correct traces will be shown when you resize the Seismic Panel displaying an arbitrary line along a deviated well We improved the trace range editor for the Seismic Panel. HRS-9 / R-1.1 Release Notes 9 March 29, 2012

172. We added a restore default button for the view parameter menu and a seismic view tab for the mean and standard deviation in the Seismic Panel We added support for cursor reading of the trace location, offset, trace amplitude and color amplitude for seismic tracks We fixed a problem in the Log View Parameter Dialog where selecting Color Trace Lateral Resolution and a high Subsample Resolution will actually use low resolution (or "blocky" mode) The seismic color trace data selections (such as Incident Angle) will now be drawn correctly when screen refreshed or redrawn Support is added in the Log View Parameter dialog for the user to make color trace data selections that are related to the velocity field model You can now set the scale using the seismic page of the log view parameter dialog We changed the controls to force a selection for the tops annotation location when the tops annotation option is on We sped up the time it takes to bring up the Curves tab on the Log View Parameter dialog We added a global log preferences option that can be used for the whole project. When users switch to a new project, the global object still stores the old project information. Now the global projects will be re-initialized when users switch to a different project We now adjust the size of the View Mode, Direction and Polarity controls to show the full name We now turn the trace fill on if you select a composite trace or a synthetic trace in the inserted curve selection We now turn the trace fill on when displaying composite trace on the display while running the log correlation process The SRD line is now drawn in the correct location for deviated wells We now ensure that the composite trace is re-created when a window is reloaded Log curves that are dropped into a Log Track window can use the amplitude range already used by similar log types that are already displayed in that Log Track window. An option, the Linked by Log Type mode can be used to turn on or turn off this behaviour A legend is now shown by default We synchronized the vertical settings on the Scale & Details page and Seismic View page in the Log Display dialog. Both pages can now change the vertical settings to be consistent with the other. Wavelet Display 189. We corrected the Color Transparency setting to apply the correct transparency setting in the Wavelet Display. (TTS ) Other Windows and Scenes 190. The runtime message file now shows the hardware and system information separately from the project information in the header block. HRS-9 / R-1.1 Release Notes 10 March 29, 2012

191. We added an option to close all windows in a scene tab A map window in the background can now be brought to the foreground in the scene by clicking on its title bar The rubberband zoom now works correctly in the Amplitude Spectrum Display We added select and unselect for all spectra to plot in the Amplitude Spectrum Display We added a Ctrl-C shortcut for copying a screen shot to the clipboard for the multicurve view, the single well display, inversion analysis, the wavelet plot and the variogram plot You can now launch an XTERM window on Linux and Solaris systems from the Help menu In Advanced Trace Math, Log Math and Map Math, you can now create variables that have non-alphanumeric characters. (A dash ( - ) in the variable will be changed to an underscore ( _ ).) 198. Windows listed in the tree view of the Scenes tab are now sorted correctly when a new window is inserted. (TTS ) Workflow 1. We made improvements for the Time-lapse (Pro4D) processes. 2. We check if the input volume is overwritten when processes are run in workflow mode. Before this change, the input/output volume name was not checked by the process when invoked under the workflow tab. 3. We removed the empty output volume when estimating Phase and Time Shifts. The main outputs of this process are maps. HRS-9 / R-1.1 Release Notes 11 March 29, 2012
