Enhancements in this Update EarthPAK Users will now be able to display cross-sections in Measured Depth, allowing easier correlation of logs for deviated and horizontal wells. Users will also be able to directly change the cross-section view between TVD, MD, and Deviated while correlating and interpreting formations, especially when landing wells. Any problems fixed with previous Service Packs and Hot Fixes are included in the current Service Pack or Hot Fix. 2d/3dPAK The ability of the Tools > Calculators > Basic Math gridint function to fill holes in horizons and grids has been improved. (345364) Poor performance that was experienced when deleting a TD survey shared by a large number of wells has been improved. (348770) Customers using author preferred time-depth charts in a multi-author environment no longer lose their time-depth chart choices. (348814) Seismic amplitudes in VSDs viewed with a band pass filter applied were significantly different from the same VSD with no band pass filter. (350034) The map view intersection point of a deviated well with a horizon in depth now matches the intersection point with the horizon in time. (351798) Creating or editing contours sometimes caused KINGDOM to crash. (352992) While using author preferred mistie corrections and exporting/importing misties between KINGDOM project authors, data amplitudes were changed incorrectly. (353925) p. 1

2 Faults exported in depth no longer display spurious flat spots. The problem was caused by converting faults from time to depth when using time/depth tables. (354873) Mistie amplitudes are no longer incorrectly set to zero when using author preferred mistie corrections. (355056) While using author preferred mistie corrections, seismic data merged with an existing volume had an incorrect 90 degree phase shift. (355875) EarthPAK A log correlation polygon created using Tools > Correlation Polygon may now be moved to the left of the left-most depth track in a cross section. (347574) Formation top connection lines were hidden by digital log grid lines. The formation top lines are now drawn on top of the log grid. (350186) Well data imported as Other Categories is now posted correctly on the borehole. (350884) SynPAK Customers who had used the Reserves feature in KINGDOM 8.5 were unable to open the Reserves > Volumetrics window in KINGDOM 8.6. (351108) Formation Top Management > Properties > All tops no longer displays an error message related to the font size. (352590) Oracle database users were unable to successfully import IHS raster log files. The logs were not saved, and the raster log editor displayed an error "The following raster log tiff couldn't be loaded " when the log was edited after import. (353352) Logs > Calculations > Equation. An incorrect log curve equation sometimes caused KINGDOM to crash. (353699) The name of a synthetic seismogram created in SynPAK is now saved and recalled properly. (351930) Duplicate time depth chart rows are no longer created by SynPAK. (351931) VelPAK A VelPAK crash that occurred when an orphaned time depth chart without an owning well was encountered has been corrected. Bug Fixes in this Update (Reference numbers in parentheses) KINGDOM In IT environments with complex domain hierarchies, when a new KINGDOM user was created in the administration role using the security feature, the new user was unable to see existing authors when logging into the project. (347013) Using Map > Presentation Plot, or Line > Presentation Plot and selecting Print to Metafile> CGM occasionally caused KINGDOM to crash. (348334) 2d/3dPAK Trace amplitudes were lost when a lag time was added during SEG Y import. (340475) Extraneous fault line penetration symbols were added to the base map midway between the up thrown and down thrown blocks when using the new fault system. These symbols have been removed. (342837) When using the new fault system, displaying a horizon on the base map was sometimes very slow. (348116). If the file path to a color bar file became invalid because the file no longer existed or was a temporary file, KINGDOM sometimes experienced a hang. (349994) KINGDOM will now correctly convert shape files to contour files that can be used in KINGDOM. (350211) Attempting to add two or more pre-7.5 KINGDOM version contour sets to a single base map sometimes caused KINGDOM to crash. (350738) p. 3

4 EarthPAK Oracle database users were unable to successfully import smartraster log files. The raster log editor displayed an error "The following raster log tiff couldn't be loaded " when the log was edited after import. (348170) The restriction that prevented correctly importing data files with lines longer than 260 characters (e.g. borehole notes) has been removed. Lines up to 4096 characters are now supported. (349849) SynPAK After creating a new time-depth chart by integration, SynPAK did not display or use the new TD chart. An error message Please select TD Curve was displayed. (348916) VuPAK VuPAK sometimes crashed when the time start and end values where changed and VuPAK was reloaded. (349598) Decreasing the End(s): value in the Define Project Time Range dialog resulted in an application crash. Bug Fixes in this Update (Reference numbers in parentheses) 2d/3dPAK 2D survey world coordinates may now be permanently deleted using Surveys > Import World Coordinates > 2D by Dialog. (326600) An obsolete error message "Enter a number between and 1e+030" sometimes appeared using Faults > Convert Fault Surfaces - Time Depth. This error message has been removed. (332735) Wells > Select Wells to Display > By Query > UWI List from File sometimes missed wells, but now works properly. The query list will now display only the well UWIs from the source file and not all the wells in the project. (342940) Importing a Petra grid file is not supported by KINGDOM. Attempting to import a Petra grid file no longer causes KINGDOM to crash. An error message is now displayed The import data format is not supported or the import data has an error." (343993) A confusing error message Error on New Inverse Distance Method at SetGrid Parameter was displayed while using the Tools > Calculators > Basic Math gridint function. The message is no longer displayed. (344624) A temporary KINGDOM file has been given a new file extension (*.temptree) to make it easier to exclude from virus scanning. Closing a KINGDOM project was slow due to virus scanning that did not exclude this file. (345288) Imported perforation data from a horizontal borehole did not post properly in a time VSD. The perforations in the horizontal section of the borehole now post correctly. (345395) The exact gain of the seismic traces selected in VSDs was not preserved when KINGDOM was upgraded to 8.5 Hot Fix 7. (345484) Fault polygon down thrown side symbols were flipped after switching from the existing fault system to the new fault system. (345911) p. 5

6 An arbitrary seismic line created by an author in KINGDOM 8.5 sometimes failed to copy to another author using KINGDOM 8.6. (346586) Mistie phase rotations applied prior to TracePAK usage were not used correctly by TracePAK for subsequent phase rotation. (347363) Tools > Trace Calculators > Inversion (High Frequency) sometimes caused KINGDOM to hang. (347553) KINGDOM base map rulers and the X,Y location readout at the bottom of the base map sometimes failed to operate. (348760) New fault system fault surfaces and/or fault intersections could be slightly offset for long arbitrary lines displayed at certain angles. Fault surfaces and intersections are now displayed correctly. (349207) The new fault system fault intersection plus mark now displays on the segment intersection instead of the surface intersection. (349209) In the new fault system, under certain data conditions, fault polygons failed to generate correctly. (349234) EarthPAK In Reserves > Volumetrics, the computed gas volume was incorrect after an additional oil layer was added. Gas, oil, and water volumes are now correct. Enhancements in this Update Improvements have been made to Borehole Notes imports. Clicking on the header row in the import file now automatically reads the column headers and creates new borehole note categories. It also marks the number of lines to skip above the first row of data. A NOT function has been added to most well queries which allows each query to be inverted. Multi-line text boxes have been added to Base Map culture annotation. Added the ability to merge multiple fault polygon sets. Clicking the right mouse button on a VSD Ruler displays a shortcut to the Numbers Format tab in User Preferences so that the number of decimal places displayed may be quickly modified. The font size for the well depth track annotation on a VSD can now be adjusted to small, large or x-large. This is set on the Log Settings > Define Curve Tracks tab. Transparency control has been added to all of the Log Curve Shading options in Log Settings. Virtual log curve names can now be shown and selected in calculation list boxes. This applies to Log Equations and the Zone Attribute Calculator. The log curve smoothing functionality has been enhanced to allow the selection of any sized averaging window from 3 to 2,000,000. The User Preferences Status Bar and Color tabs have been reorganized for clarity. Smoothing of manual and imported contours has been re-enabled. 8 2d/3dPAK The number of decimal places selected in Project > User Preferences > Status for depth values is now correctly used on the color bar for a depth horizon or grid. (332407) In order to maintain survey priority, arbitrary lines drawn on overlapping surveys will now adhere to the following rules: (334158) o o o The arbitrary line survey priority is determined by the survey the arbitrary line was created for. As long as any part of the arbitrary line is on the original survey, that survey will have priority. Any portion of the arbitrary line that is not on the original survey will default to the Survey Display order priority. If the arbitrary line is moved completely off the survey it was created for, the Survey Display Order will determine the survey priority for the arbitrary line. The Import Multiple LAS Files dialog All/None options are now fully functional. (337850) Formation tops no longer incorrectly appear on seismic lines beyond the borehole projection distance (Wells > Borehole Display Options > Borehole Projection). (338284) Slight changes to the well deviation survey occasionally corrupted the Time-Depth relationship and time and depth values. (343775) Time slices above a flattened horizon now display properly. (344336) (345104) EarthPAK KINGDOM crashed when attempting to import a Petra grid. Importing this Petra grid format is not supported by KINGDOM. A warning message now displays and KINGDOM no longer crashes. (343993) In Preferred TD Chart mode the preferred TD chart is now persistent for TD charts created using SynPAK and 1DFM. (344269) An unexpected shutdown of KINGDOM that sometimes occurred when digitizing arbitrary lines across 2D surveys has been fixed. (345569) The formation top selected when the Formation Top edit dialog is closed will be the default formation top selected the next time the Formation Top edit dialog is opened. (344817) When viewing wells in spreadsheet format (Wells > Spreadsheet ) KINGDOM occasionally crashed after clicking OK in response to the message Operation is too large for the buffer. Do you want to continue? (327818) KINGDOM 32-bit occasionally crashed when exporting formation tops (Wells > Spreadsheet > Export). Formation Tops were incorrectly exported in date/time format. (332061) When opening Petrophysics (Logs > Petrophysics), KINGDOM would occasionally freeze with an unhandled exception error message. (337487) SynPAK Extracting a trace at the bottom location of a deviated borehole now functions properly. In some cases, a trace from the surface well location was extracted. (310074) p. 8

9 VuPAK The active fault plane may now be made transparent when viewed in VuPAK. This allows users to visualize data that would otherwise be obscured by the active fault. (293613) VuPAK - Microseismic After selecting Load Point Sets, the wells in the KINGDOM working set are now correctly listed. (343939) Trace Calculations (formerly TracePAK): Tools > Trace Calculation > Multiple Traces > Rotate(90) now correctly scales the resulting traces for high resolution datasets. (338742) The intermittent crash in the Horizon Smoothing Parameters dialog has been fixed. (344467) Microseismic Startup performance has been improved. Test case projects that were taking minutes to open now take seconds to open. (342855) SynPAK Synthetics can now be displayed on the vertical seismic display in the depth domain.
