1 STIOffice Installation and Updates About this Document This document provides instructions on installing STIOffice. Also included are the steps required to install each workstation and to run the program updates. Installing STIOffice on the Server Perform the following steps to install STIOffice: Double click on the file isst32.exe. Create the directory. To do this, perform the steps in section below. Creating the SSTS2 Data Directory The STIOffice data directory (referred to as the ssts2 folder) must be created before you may proceed with the installation.. 2 Click OK. A Notice! screen will appear, listing the current program versions. After reading, click OK to close this window. The window shown in the screen shot below will appear next advising you to select the data directory. This will be the \ssts2 directory created earlier. 3 You will then see an Installing progress window, followed by an Installation Completed window. Server Installation The welcome screen shown below will start the installation of STIOffice on the server. Click OK to confirm that you wish to install the program files on the data server. 4 Select your state. If your state (or country) is not listed, please select Other. Enter the installation password in the space provided and click OK. If you do not know the password, contact STI Support at (877) If you see the error shown below and you are sure you have entered the password correctly, please contact STI Support for assistance Quick Reference Guide STI_ STIOffice Installation and Updates 4

5 After you have entered the password, you will see the Installing progress window, followed by an Installation Completed window. Click Finish. You will now need to visit each workstation and perform the Workstation install. Quick Reference Guide STI_ STIOffice Installation and Updates 5

6 Installing STIOffice Workstation Locate the ssts2\sst directory on the server. You may do this in one of two ways: o o Click the Windows Start button and select Run Browse to look for the ssts2\sst directory on the server. Click on My Computer and select the c:\ drive. Then select your ssts2 folder. Inside this folder, select the sst folder. Locate and double-click the ISST32ws.exe file and click OK. The window will appear shown below will appear. Click OK again. 7 Once again you will be prompted for the data directory on the server. After selecting the correct directory, click OK. You will then be prompted to select the LOCAL directory into which to install the program files. This will default to C:\SST and should not be changed. Click OK. 8 Another status bar will display. When the installation has finished, an Installation Completed window will appear. Click Finish. Quick Reference Guide STI_ STIOffice Installation and Updates 8

9 You will now have a folder on the workstation s C:\ drive named sst. You should now be able to access the program by clicking the Windows Start button and selecting Programs or All Programs STI Applications STIOffice. Quick Reference Guide STI_ STIOffice Installation and Updates 9

10 Updating STIOffice You may locate the latest update files at Click on the Support link and log in. After logging in, you may click on the Updates link and browse to the STIOffice link. Download the appropriate update file and then double-click to execute it. You will be prompted to have all users out of the program and on the most recent version. Click OK to continue. 11 An installation progress bar will indicate how long it should take to update your current version of STIOffice. Next, a security options screen will instruct you as to which groups will be modified. Follow these directions and then press Continue. In the next screen that appears, select your state and click OK to continue. The document displayed onscreen lists all changes that were made during the update.
