1 Overview This document will provide you instructions on how to install and use the Afaria client on your Motorola Xoom tablet. The Afaria client is designed to allow applications to be made available to your device for your use and is also a critical component for ensuring that your device is secured when accessing Komatsu IT systems. If you have not logged into a computer before on the Komatsu network, your username and password will be supplied to you separately.

5 10. The client will automatically connect to the Afaria server and prompt for your username and password. This is your Komatsu username and password that you use to login to your computer. i.e. JSMITH. If you have not logged into a computer before on the Komatsu network, your username and password will be supplied to you separately. Once you have entered your username and password, please click OK to continue. 11. During the download of the policies you will be prompted to create a screen lock password for the device, these needs to be a minimum of 4 alphanumeric characters. 12. When prompted to set up a password, tap the Password to proceed.

6 13. The password screen will indicate what is required to create correct password. Once you have entered a password, press enter to continue 14. The session log will then be displayed, ensure you have Successful session commented at the end of the log. If not tap Connect again to reconnect to the server. 15. Following the first successful session you must SHUTDOWN your tablet by holding down the power button and selecting the SHUTDOWN option when prompted. This is essential to ensure your Tablet device operates correctly. 16. Once the tablet device has shut down, please power on your tablet and enter your screen lock password.

7 Application Installation With the Afaria client you can download applications published to you through Komatsu. This application list will contain APPROVED applications you may install to your device. You are NOT permitted to install any non approved applications via the Android Marketplace or any other means. If you require an application that is not available please send a request to the Komatsu I.T. Service Desk for approval, and if approved it will be added to the Afaria applications list. In order to send a request to the Komatsu I.T. Service Desk, please send an to help@komatsu.com.au, detailing the name of the application you require or a description of the application and what it is designed to do if you are not sure of the exact name. Browsing and installing applications 1. From the home screen tap the APPS button from the top right corner, then tap Afaria 2. Tap on the APPS logo to list the available applications 3. Select the application or widget you wish to install, a single tap on the item will bring up its description. 6. To install the item in the application list tap Install, then follow the onscreen instructions. 8. While one application is downloading you can go back to the application list and select additional applications to install and have them downloading and installing simultaneously. 9. Note when a security prompt appears to install an item always tap the Install option. 10. Instructions for how to use each application or widget are available in the applications usage guides. 11. You can also use the Search and Updates tabs to locate applications and updates as they become available.

9 Manual Policy Update only to be used as directed by IT for support If directed by I.T. support to perform a manual policy updates please perform the following procedure. This may be required if your device stops communicating correctly with the Komatsu IT system. 1. From the home screen tap APPS button from the top right corner, then tap Afaria 2. Tap the SETTINGS icon along the bottom of the screen 3. Tap Connect to commence the policy update 4. Ensure the policy update completes successfully, if not tap Connect to retry.
