Fully Re-engineered Hot Folders with Automation A new flexible and scalable automation system is now available with Océ ProCut V5.0. The new design allows users to create automations and use them in three different ways. The benefit is being able to create numerous short-cuts, thus saving time and having the ability to efficiently expand the business. THREE WAYS TO AUTOMATE A. Automate using active Hotfolders B. 2 A. Automate using active Hotfolders This new feature allows users to drop a file into a hot folder, have the file processed automatically, with the result that the job appears in the job, nesting or cut queue. To set up this workflow, go the setting as noted in the screen shot below: Setup Hotfolders and define automations through Océ ProCut Server preference dialog 2 R4 Public July 2018

3 Create and edit automations Setting up automations is done though the Océ ProCut Server preference dialog. Simply click through the individual tabs and enter the relevant values. 3 R4 Public July 2018

Using the automations with File Import The automations are available from the File Import dialog allowing the user to apply Prepress actions/automations to one or more files already at time of import. The files will then be prepared according to the preset automation selected and appear Green = Ready for processing into the Job Queue respectively Nesting Queue. Creating and applying automations will help to reduce prepress tasks significantly and thereby improve the overall efficiency. Simply select your file(s) and choose automation from the dropdown menu in FILE IMPORT-dialog: 9 R4 Public July 2018

10 Example of how Océ ProCut 5.0 automation is an improvement when compared to Océ ProCut 4.7: CURRENTLY - Structural design files from CAD software (ERPA, Artios, Impact, Engview, ZDC ) typically arrive in the print shop with cut and crease lines on top of the graphics, and layers named differently. With Océ ProCut 4.7, these files would need individual Prepress operations to hide layers, select Océ ProCut media, map cut and crease layers to Océ ProCut layers, join curves and create output. These tasks currently take a few minutes per file with Océ ProCut 4.7, due to the need to open files one by one and prepare manually, then selecting the same media, find the same curves etc. in Océ ProCut Prepress Editor for each file. NOW With Océ ProCut 5.0 Simply create an Automation that does the above-mentioned prepress actions and launch it directly from the File Import dialog!!! The Files will appear ready in the Job Queue seconds later and just one click on Generate is needed to create output files Expect significant time savings!! 10 R4 Public July 2018

11 C. Combining Océ ProCut automation with other workflows Each automation that is created saves a.json script onto the hard drive. This script can be used / altered or even completely written by another software. This allows the development of workflows that could be tailored to a specific workflow demand with local resources at a minimum cost. Example of automation tasks with.json scripts A W2P-solution receives files and sends them to a Preflight-solution that creates/edits a ProCut.json script that processes the files for both printing and cutting. 12 First place the.pdf into the EXTRA folder, then place the JSON-script into the IN folder (one file level above). This file structure is identical to how Océ ProCut connects with ONYX. All automations follow the normal Océ ProCut workflow known from working manually with the user interface. Jobs submitted to Hotfolders for automation appear in the Queue system as if it were being processed manually. The advantage is that jobs via Hotfolders can be nested with other jobs manually processed. Furthermore, if a job fails to be processed automatically, the job will appear in the Job Queue marked Yellow = to be assisted by a user and with a relevant message in the Automation Error column. 2. Faster nesting and nested artwork preview The nesting user interface has been improved for full screen compatibility displaying several layouts simultaneously. Nesting results are updated quickly and presented on the screen. The Media profile and sheet sizes are displayed to inform the user. 12 R4 Public July 2018

14 The nesting window automatically scrolls to the last sheet during nesting this way the user can directly see the most relevant part of the nesting results. 16 3. Production Tracking Océ ProCut 5.0 is capturing data from each of the cutters and from the ProCut Server. The purpose of collecting the data is to be able to provide relevant information back to the user. Available information: - What job has been cut on which cutter - # of Copies produced - # of Meters cut with what tool / layer, total meters - Timings: start and end time, total production time - Type of material - Production method (with or without reg. marks, Auto Pilot, face down) - Much more! The data is shown in an easily accessible Statistics Module. The service is running and driven by the ProCut Server. The module runs in the browser on all platforms including mobile devices logged onto local production network. 16 R4 Public July 2018

17 The data is also available in CSV format so it can be easily exported in the desired time interval and opened in Microsoft EXCEL. The Statistics Module is included with Océ ProCut Prepress Packages free of charge. 17 R4 Public July 2018

18 4. Improved Control for folding applications A few new parameters and features have been added in Océ ProCut Vision. V-Cut Offset A new parameter can be entered for Two-Way cutting with the VCT groove tool. The value entered can be positive to create a gap (distance between cut paths) in the bottom of material. Or the value can be negative to create an overlap of the cut paths in the bottom of the material. The benefit of being able to adjust the V-cuts is to allow better compensation for folding jobs. It also helps maintain the cut out parts (V-grooves) in the material, rather than being lifted into the light barriers of the cutter or moved around randomly on top of the sheets. V-Cut Angle A new option exists in the angles parameter dropdown menu called Defined in Cutter. Selecting this value means that Océ ProCut Vision is not sending the VCT angle (0, 15, 22.5, 30 or 45 degree) to the cutter. Selecting Defined in Cutter means that the user must manually set the desired angle in the cutter machine panel. The reason to use the settings in this way is that advanced users can fine-tune the factory offset settings (-8, 6 mm). Please refer to the cutter manual for details. IMPORTANT: This feature can only be used if the option Defined in cutter is enabled. This optional setting is for the VCT angle. Cut media manager dialog Cutter machine panel 18 R4 Public July 2018

19 X-offset Correction All relevant tools (UCT, KCT, EOT, EOT-250, POT, DRT) now include a setting that allows the operator to correct the cut path by means of the cutter X-offset. The value entered is equivalent to those entered manually from the G3/S3 machine panel. However, with this option, Océ ProCut software now transmits an offset value to the cutter in addition to the value entered manually from the panel! Therefore, we recommend that users not enter the value manually in the G3/S3, but set it to zero (0,00 mm) and use the new X-offset setting from Océ ProCut. The x-offset value is used to help improve cut quality on tight radius. Example of X-correction Ø10 mm radius cut in Reboard 16mm (honey comb sandwich material) with knife Z Extended vacuum width adjustment for G3 Océ ProCut Vision now provides the option to allow the cutter to choose the best vacuum width for each job. This new setting allows Océ ProCut Vision to fully control the opening and closing of the vacuum zones, which helps to ensure that jobs are held in position with the strongest and best possible vacuum at all times and without any user intervention! 19 R4 Public July 2018

21 7. Support for cut files generated by OneVision WF Automation Suite Océ ProCut Vision now supports cut files that have been generated by OneVision WF Automation Suite software. OneVision WF Automation Suite cut file import is setup via the ProCut Server preference dialog Barcode Hotfolder in the same way as is used for the ONYX cut file connection. Simply create the link and browse to the cut file folder on the OneVision WF Automation Suite setup. Once set up, OneVision WF Automation Suite cut files will automatically appear in the Océ ProCut Vision Cut Queue. Files can be scanned and loaded into Océ ProCut Vision using the handheld code39 compatible barcode scanner. Cut files are presented with cut path preview only. Océ ProCut Media profile mapping happens dynamically. The first time a cut file appears it will open in the Vision Editor, where the relevant ProCut Media profile is selected and applied. All new jobs coming with the same Media name* will open directly using the mapped ProCut Media profile. The functionality is identical to the connection to ONYX. 21 R4 Public July 2018

22 If OneVision WF Automation Suite.pdf cut files contain a ProCut Media name (e.g. Self-adhesive Vinyl) as a Keyword, then this will automatically select the ProCut media at import. 22 R4 Public July 2018

23 8. Others An End User License Agreement (EULA) is to be accepted upon first start-up of Océ ProCut Prepress and ProCut Vision software 5.0. The following dialog appears only at the first install and with a new software version update. 24 ProCut Prepress communication to Zünd Cut Center (ZCC) has been updated. When running ProCut Prepress in ZCC-mode, a few additional meta data is now being passed from Prepress to ZCC cut queue.
