1 RELEASE NOTES Océ ProCut 4.1 Features Highlights New features 1. New enhanced curve system improves routing quality and speeds up ProCut 2. New lead in/out feature to help hide the start/stop point on routing jobs 3. New ITI support and warnings to place and remove additional router underlay 4. Original tab functionality on MAC client to hide/show PDF layers in print output 5. Enhancements in ProCut Vision 1. Speed and edge quality improvement with ProCut Vision 4.1 A new enhanced curve handling system has been implemented into ProCut Vision. The combination of the current firmware and ProCut Vision 4.1 will improve the speed and quality when curves are used. The machine movements on most curve designs will appear smoother in 4.1 compared to previous ProCut versions. 2. New lead in/out feature available in ProCut Vision Editor Océ ProCut Prepress 4.1 has new functionality to apply lead in and lead out vectors to any closed curve in the design. The functionality can be used on certain routing jobs to reduce or even eliminate the small mark seen on the material edge in the position where the router bit is lowered into the material (start/stop point). Typically if there is a straight corner somewhere on the design, this corner can be used as a starting point and no marks will be seen. On designs where there are no straight corners (to hide the lead in/out mark), it is possible to benefit from adding a lead in vector and/or lead out vector. The ProCut will lower the router bit outside (or inside for inner design parts) before the actual starting position leaving the mark outside the desired media. For the stop point, the router will move away from the cut path leaving no marks at the actual start/stop point. The lead in can be defined as a straight line or an arc with a certain diameter. ITI support for ProCut G3 With the launch of the new built in ITI instead of the AKI, ProCut Vision 4.1 now fully supports the use of ITI in the following way: Setup on the ProCut G3: Use Additional underlay function on the ProCut G3 Because the ITI isn t placed onto the underlay(s) like the AKI, underlay thicknesses on the ProCut G3 must be specified. Menu entry defines the thickness of the conveyor belt (or on a static table the cutting underlay). The conveyor belt is defined as 2,80 mm thick. Menu entry defines the thickness of the Additional underlay (SealGrip or another type) placed on top of the conveyor belt when routing. The thickness of SealGrip is defined as 2,00mm.

3 Menu entries and are used to switch the use of Additional underlay ON/OFF. It is recommended to program the shortcut function button F7 on the G3 control panel to 1.6.3! Using this setup, pressing F7 on G3 control panel will switch the Additional underlay between ON and OFF. Setup ProCut Vision 4.1: It is possible to select one or more tools to be automatically initialized using the ITI. Click on the tool image and select which tools to be initialized. It is recommended to begin each work shift by initializing all mounted tools on the machine! If the Additional underlay is set to OFF when starting a routing job, ProCut Vision will warn and prompt to set this active! It is not possible to start routing until this is set ON.* If the Additional underlay is ON when starting a knife cutting job, ProCut Vision will warn and prompt to set it to OFF. It is not possible to use the cutting tool before this is set OFF.* * In the setup dialog for ProCut Vision, you can select to use the warnings or not! 6 4. Hide / Show PDF layers to be printed, now available in MAC client Océ ProCut Prepress 4.1 includes an updated MAC client with Original tab functionality as known from the Windows client. Print file before editing Print file after editing Note! This feature requires the PDF to be designed with layers.

7 5. ProCut Vision enhancements Océ ProCut Vision 4.1 includes improvements that help ProCut G3 operators! REFERENCE POINT The message dialog to remove a reference point when starting a camera job no longer appears; instead the ref. point is automatically removed. Message in previous versions of ProCut Vision will not appear with version 4.1 VACUUM ADJUST The message dialog about adjusting vacuum width on G3 s if a job exceeds the activated vacuum zone no longer appears; instead the vacuum width is automatically adjusted outwards. Note! Vacuum is not adjusted inwards. Message in previous versions of ProCut Vision will not appear with version 4.1

8 SET COPIES The message dialog to set copies if copy count has reached zero (0 copies) no longer appears ; instead one (1) copy is automatically used, so the cutter will always cut 1 copy unless more are specified. Message in previous versions of ProCut Vision will not appear with version 4.1
