Driver setup VCAP602 Quick Installation Guide for Windows Windows 7 Step 1: Uninstall the old driver and reinstall the new driver IMPORTANT! -IF YOU HAVE INSTALLED THE DRIVER FOR OTHER VIDEO CAPTURE DEVICES, PLEASE UNINSTALL THEM AND THEN REINSTALL THE DRIVER FOR VCAP 602 FROM THE ENCLOSED SOFTWARE CD 1)make sure login as "administrator" to install driver/software 2) UNINSTALL all the drivers/software for your old USB video capture Step 2: Insert the software CD into CD/DVD Drive. Windows 7 will ask you if you d like to Run VCAP602.exe or Open folders to view files. Please choose Run VCAP exe Step 3: "User Account Control" will be shown on the screen Please choose "Yes" when you are asked "Do you want to allow the following program from an unknown publisher to make changes to this computer?" If it does not startup automatically, please run Drive\setup.exe from the software CD to get the startup menu. Step 4: Please Click Driver install from the main menu

2 Step 5: Click install when the screen shows that Ready to install the Program

3 Step 6: Click "Install" when Winodws Security winodws asks you "would you like to install this device software?" Step 7: Please click "Install" when you are asked "would you like to install this device software?

4 Step 8: Please click "Finish" when the driver is installed. Step 9: now plug the VCAP602 into one of the free working USB 2.0 port. Windows will automatically install the driver for the VCAP602. Please wait for a while until Winodws show you that "your device is ready to use" on the message bar at the right bottom. Step 10: Check if the driver /hardware has installed successfully. Please go to Start >Control panel >"Hardware and Sound" >"Device Manager" "Sound, Video and game controllers" You will see USB 2.0 Video capture and USB 2.0 Audio capture are there and there are no yellow marks.

5 2. Install EZGrabber From the main menu, choose "software install" 3. Install VHS2DVD 3.0 Click "Honestech VHS to DVD" on the main menu to install VHS2DVD 3.0. Please follow the instruction on screen to install it. You will be asked to enter the license key when you use it the first time. Please enter the key on the flap of the white software CD bag (holder/cover). Please do check the key when you enter it. Some customers made mistake in entering the following letters and number:

6 U, V, Z, L, 2, 1,B (they entered U as V, Z as 2, 1 as L, B as 8). 4. Setting for EZ Grabber EZ Grabber is designed to capture video/take still photo while you playing the video on the video source device. If you wish to edit the captured video, please use Software Honestech VHS 2 DVD. 1) Video format and video source setting: Video format: for UK customers, please choose PAL-BDHIG Video Source: Please choose composite if you use composite AV cable (yellow, red, white) Please choose svideo if you use Svideo cable + R/L for audio (red/white) 2)Capture button setting: if you want to capture video, please choose Capture video, If you want to use it to take still photo, please choose snapshot

7 3)Setting for SNAPSHOT (i.e take still picture): you can choose to save the picture as JPG or BMP. 4)Record format setting. If you choose to capture video, you can choose different video record format.

Basic Setting Honestech VHS to DVD 1) Video Device: Please choose Conexant Polaris Video Capture 2) Input device setting: click the setting button beside the Video device, then you can set the Input device. Please choose composite if you use composite AV cable (yellow, red, white) Please choose svideo if you use Svideo cable + R/L for audio (red/white) The Video source must be set to either 'Composite' or 'Svideo' depending on which connector you are using (the yellow phono connector is Composite and the black mini-din connector is s-video) 3)Video Standard setting: by clicking the control button and go to Video decoder you can choose different video standard for your video source device. For the UK customer, please choose PAL I.

9 4)Audio device setting: You DO NOT need to choose any audio device since the chipset for our VCAP602 has combined video and audio together and the audio recording will be controlled by the video device. 5) Format: you can choose different format to save the captured file such as DVD/long DVD 6) Video Type: please choose PAL 7)Split Size: please choose the size that meets your needs

10 8) upload the captured video to YouTube (see picture below.) 9)transfer the captured video to IPOD and PSP

11 6. How to use VCR with VHS2DVD.30 If your source video device is VCR, you need to select VCR INPUT as well. For details, please refer to the setting below. 1)Input device setting: click the "setting" button beside the Video device, then you can set the Input device. Please choose "composite" if you use composite AV cable (yellow, red, white) Please choose "svideo" if you use Svideo cable + R/L for audio (red/white) The Video source must be set to either 'Composite' or 'Svideo' depending on which connector you are using (the yellow phono connector is Composite and the black mini-din connector is s-video) 2)Video Standard setting: by clicking the "control button" and go to "Video decoder" you can choose different video standard for your video source device.
