Both offerings support a range of client-access types, from HTML-based messaging to the full Lotus Notes -integrated client. Lotus Complete Messaging Express Starter Pack includes Lotus Domino Messaging Express and Lotus Sametime Standard while IBM Lotus Complete Collaboration Express Starter Pack includes Lotus Domino Collaboration Express and Lotus Sametime Standard. With updated Lotus Domino Messaging Express software, users can implement a complete messaging, calendar, and group scheduling solution. No individual server licenses are required; users can deploy one Lotus Domino server or as many as required. 3 Description Each starter pack is comprised of two basic components Lotus Domino Express (Messaging Express or Collaboration Express) V8.0 Lotus Sametime Standard 8.0 The starter packs are sold in units of 10 authorized users and will deliver enterprise-class messaging and collaboration capabilities to companies that employ fewer than 1,000 people. The starter pack offerings are packaged and priced to meet the needs of small start-up entities, all the way up to mid-sized businesses. Lotus Domino Messaging Express 8.0 Lotus Domino Messaging Express 8.0 provides a messaging, calendar, group scheduling, and contact management solution in a whole new way. Delivered with context sensitive toolbars and customizable view preferences, Domino Messaging Express 8.0 allows customers to utilize the sidebar to display critical information and alerts including Lotus Sametime Standard 8.0 contacts, day-at-a-glance, Really Simple Syndication (RSS), and Atom Feeds. Lotus Domino Messaging Express V8.0 also delivers other exciting new capabilities such as: "Open" button for fast access to most often used applications. Conversation mode that lets users gather and review threads based on subject headers. Omnipresent search center for , calendar, the Web, and users' desktop. Support for activity-centric computing. Word processing, spreadsheets, and presentation applications which support OpenDocument Format (ODF), Microsoft Office, and Lotus SmartSuite file formats. Ability to export documents to Adobe Portable Document Format (PDF). Collaboration history that lets users search and view their collaboration history with specific people. Server-managed provisioning. Cross-platform support for both client and server. Multi-directory integration improvements provided through limited entitlement to Tivoli Directory Integrator that accompanies Lotus Domino 8 software. Mail recall. With this software, users can deploy one Lotus Domino server or as many as they would like. Lotus Domino Messaging Express V8.0 allows users to access Lotus Domino-based messaging from their choice of supported client, Lotus Notes, Lotus Domino Web Access, or other IMAP/POP3 compliant software. Users are not restricted to one client. For example, they may choose to use Lotus Notes software in your office, and Lotus Domino Web Access software when at home, or at a shared kiosk. In addition to using messaging, Lotus Domino Messaging Express also entitles users to share information in Lotus Domino Discussion Databases, and store files in Lotus Domino Document Libraries. Lotus Domino Messaging Express is an excellent solution for companies looking to move from a competitive system to a security-rich and reliable offering from IBM. Lotus Domino Collaboration Express 8.0 Lotus Domino Collaboration Express builds upon Lotus Domino Messaging Express by adding entitlement to Lotus Domino-based applications. IPLA and Subscription and Support considerations IPLA licenses can be transferred from one machine to another within, but not limited to an enterprise. You may aggregate the capacity for all the processors the product is operated on to achieve a more economic price. This will result in a single proof of entitlement (PoE). It is your responsibility to manage the distribution of Value Units within the limits of the entitlement of the product license. Subscription and Support must cover the same capacity as the product license entitlement. Subscription and Support will be available in the country in which the agreement is made. Future releases of the starter pack will remain relatively consistent with major future releases of the component parts. Minor version changes to the product components will be considered for new starter pack release based on the particular value and impact of the changes on the target or existing customer base at the sole discretion of IBM.
