This new color laser MFP offers fast printing of up to 25 pages per minute (ppm) 1 for both color and monochrome printing on letter media and up to 23 ppm 1 on A4 media. Other benefits of the InfoPrint Color 1826 MFP include: All-in-one MFP with color printing, scanning, and faxing capability Smaller size and weight than previous color MFPs Eco-Mode and Quiet Mode settings will help decrease energy consumption and printing noise New chemical-processed toner that provides better image quality 10/100BaseTX networking and duplex printing standard on all models Wireless model that includes the b/g/n standard, eliminating the need for extra networking cables 1 Exact print speeds vary depending on document complexity, system configuration, software applications, driver, and printer status. Key prerequisites None Planned availability date November 14, 2008 Description InfoPrint Color 1826 MFP is an all-in-one MFP with color printing, scanning, and faxing capability. It offers printing of up to 25 pages per minute (ppm) letter size and 23 ppm A4 size for both color and monochrome printing. The time to first print is as fast as 13 seconds for monochrome and color. One 650-sheet duo drawer is supported for a total input capacity of 901 sheets. This duo drawer has a 550-sheet draw and a 100-sheet multipurpose feeder (MPF). Output capacity for all models is 150 sheets. Duplex capability is standard on all models. Memory All models have one slot for additional SDRAM memory. Memory options for the printer include 128 MB, 256 MB, and 512 MB memory DIMMs. All models have one slot for flash memory with a 64 MB flash memory option available. Network connections All models include 10/100BaseTX Ethernet as standard. Some models include wireless Ethernet as standard. The wireless models allow the printer to be connected directly to a wireless LAN. This supports the IEEE b, g, and n draft 2.0 standards. Draft 2.0 refers to the version of the not-yet-ratified IEEE n standard. Usage rates The maximum monthly usage for the InfoPrint Color 1826 MFP is 55,000 impressions. InfoPrint Solutions Company does not recommend printing to the monthly maximum on a consistent basis. License conditions This machine is sold subject to certain license conditions. 3 Print quality The resolutions of the printers are: 4800CQ (default resolution) (full printer speed) 1200 dpi (at reduced printer speed) (supported in PostScript and PCL only) InfoPrint Color 1826 MFP has five Toner Darkness levels for color and monochrome. The default setting is 4. When printing in color, level 5 is equal to level 4. Refer to the table below. 7 4 The power consumed is the maximum average observed during our testing at the prescribed test conditions per the applicable Product Safety standards. Your measurements and those made at other prescribed operating points (such as EPA testing) will vary considerably, although these should be the maximum observed in any realistic customer operating mode. Note: The numbers shown in the above are the actual power values for the product measured with the final level hardware tested using standard procedures. Notes Using a 220 V ac to 110 V ac power converter with the low voltage model is not recommended. All models are Energy Star compliant. All models ship with Power Save Mode in the "On" position. The default timeout to power saver is 60 minutes. 8 Installation and configuration of the printer and features by following the installation instructions, including: Installing and maintaining cables Loading print media and clearing jams Performing low-level problem determination Ordering and installing supplies and consumables Working with InfoPrint Solutions Technical Support to complete low-level problem determination including: Downloading and installing microcode updates as directed by the InfoPrint Solutions Technical Support Center Replacing defective features that were installed as part of the customer setup process It is the customer's responsibility to order and maintain an adequate inventory of toner cartridges and maintenance supplies. Cable orders No attachment cables are required for this feature. Supplies No supplies are required with the machine order. InfoPrint Color 1826 MFP is shipped with 2,500-impressions 5 black print cartridge and 2,000-impressions 5 CMY print cartridges. Refer to table below for replacement print cartridges. It is the customer's responsibility to order and maintain an adequate inventory of toner cartridges and maintenance supplies. Many factors (for example, print coverage per page, machine settings, paper type and size, and environmental conditions) can affect supply life. Maintenance supplies There are no maintenance supplies for this product. InfoPrint Solutions Company reserves the right to make available additional replacement maintenance items that are the customer's responsibility to purchase. Supply warranties are only for defects in materials and workmanship at the time of shipment and installation. They are not for print count life or normal wear and tear, nor for any print count minimum. Contact your place of purchase for warranty return instructions. InfoPrint Solutions Company is committed to environmentally conscious programs for printer supplies. A collection program for used printer cartridges has been established and return instructions are included in the supply item packaging, with free return shipping. InfoPrint Solutions Company printing supplies are distributed by Priority Fulfillment Services (PFS) and a worldwide network of resellers. End users can contact PFS at 888-IBM-PRINT ( ) for the name of an InfoPrint Solutions Company reseller in their area where printing supplies can be purchased. Pallet quantity The pallet quantity for InfoPrint Color 1826 MFP all models is eight printers per pallet. Security, auditability, and control This product uses the security and auditability features of the host hardware, host software, and application software. The customer is responsible for evaluation, selection, and implementation of security features, administrative procedures, and appropriate controls in application systems and communications facilities. Terms and conditions Warranty period Twelve months Warranty service If required, InfoPrint Solutions Company provides repair or exchange service depending on the types of warranty service specified for the machine. InfoPrint Solutions Company will attempt to resolve your problem over the telephone, or electronically via an InfoPrint Solutions Company Web site. You must follow the problem determination and resolution procedures that InfoPrint Solutions Company specifies. Scheduling of service will depend upon the time of your call and is subject to parts availability. If applicable to your product, parts considered Customer Replaceable Units (CRUs) will be provided as part of the machine's standard warranty service. Service levels are response time objectives and are not guaranteed. The specified level of warranty service may not be available in all worldwide locations. 10 Customer Replaceable Unit Service and On-site for other selected parts. CRU: InfoPrint Solutions Company provides replacement CRUs to you for you to install. CRU information and replacement instructions are shipped with your machine and are available from InfoPrint Solutions Company upon your request. CRUs are designated as being either a Tier 1 or a Tier 2 CRU. Tier 1 CRU: Installation of Tier 1 CRUs is your responsibility. If InfoPrint Solutions Company installs a Tier 1 CRU at your request, you will be charged for the installation. Tier 2 CRU: You may install a Tier 2 CRU yourself or request InfoPrint Solutions Company to install it, at no additional charge. Based upon availability, CRUs will be shipped for next-business-day delivery. InfoPrint Solutions Company specifies, in the materials shipped with a replacement CRU, whether a defective CRU must be returned to InfoPrint Solutions Company. When return is required, (1) return instructions and a container are shipped with the replacement CRU and (2) you may be charged for the replacement CRU if InfoPrint Solutions Company does not receive the defective CRU within 15 days of your receipt of the replacement.
