This printer is the replacement for the InfoPrint Color 1614 and This new color laser printer offers faster printing of up to 25 pages per minute (ppm) 1 for both color and monochrome printing on letter media and up to 24 ppm 1 on A4 media. 2 Planned availability date vember 14, 2008 February 6, 2009 (for dn1 model in Taiwan and dw2 model in Singapore and Hong Kong) March 20, 2009 (for dw1 model in Taiwan) Description InfoPrint Solutions Company InfoPrint Color 1824 is the replacement for the InfoPrint Color 1614 and 1634 workgroup printers. This new color laser printer offers faster printing of up to 25 pages per minute (ppm) letter size and 24 ppm A4 size for both color and monochrome printing. The time to first print is as fast as 11 seconds for monochrome and 12 seconds for color. One 650- sheet duo drawer is supported for a total input capacity of 901 sheets. This duo drawer has a 550-sheet draw and a 100-sheet multipurpose feeder (MPF). Output capacity for all models is 100 sheets. Duplex capability is standard on all models. Memory All models have one slot for additional SDRAM memory. Memory options for the printer include 128 MB, 256 MB, and 512 MB memory DIMMs. All models have one slot for flash memory with a 64 MB flash memory option available. Network connections All models include 10/100BaseTX Ethernet as standard. Some models include wireless Ethernet as standard. The wireless models allow the printer to be connected directly to a wireless LAN. This supports the IEEE b, g, and n draft 2.0 standards. Draft 2.0 refers to the version of the not-yet-ratified IEEE n standard. Usage rates The maximum monthly usage for the InfoPrint Color 1824 is 55,000 impressions. InfoPrint Solutions Company does not recommend printing to the monthly maximum on a consistent basis. License conditions This machine is sold subject to certain license conditions. Font support The InfoPrint Color 1824 printer resident fonts include support for following: Emulation Number of scalable fonts Number of bitmapped fonts PCL PostScript 91 0 PPDS 39 5 Additional fonts can be downloaded to the printer RAM. PCL emulation supports both scalable and bitmapped downloadable fonts. PostScript emulation supports only downloadable scalable fonts. Included on the CD-ROM shipped with the printer are a variety of downloadable fonts for Hebrew and Arabic. Keys are discernible by touch without activating them. The display, controls, latches, and levers are accessible to someone in a wheel chair. 6 Quiet (simplex) 46 dba Planning information Customer responsibilities These printers are designed as a Customer Setup Unit (CSU). The customer is responsible for: Adequate site, system, and other vendor preparation Receipt at the customer location and placement of the printer Installation and configuration of the printer and features by following the installation instructions, including: Installing and maintaining cables Loading print media and clearing jams Performing low-level problem determination Ordering and installing supplies and consumables Working with InfoPrint Solutions Technical Support to complete low-level problem determination including: Downloading and installing microcode updates as directed by the InfoPrint Solutions Technical Support Center Replacing defective features that were installed as part of the customer setup process It is the customer's responsibility to order and maintain an adequate inventory of toner cartridges and maintenance supplies. Cable orders attachment cables are required for this feature. Supplies supplies are required with the machine order. InfoPrint Color 1824 is shipped with 2,500- impressions 3 black print cartridge and 2,000-impressions 3 CMY print cartridges. See the table below for replacement print cartridges. 7 3 Approximate yield has been established with an average coverage of 5%. An "impression" is defined as one printed side of a sheet. A duplex sheet would consist of two impressions. The approximate average yields are not a warranty or guarantee of minimum life, and are provided to assist in initial supplies planning. Actual usage should be used to establish the supply's life in the end user's application. Many factors (for example, print coverage per page, machine settings, paper type and size, and environmental conditions) can affect supply life. Maintenance supplies There are no maintenance supplies for this product. InfoPrint Solutions Company reserves the right to make available additional replacement maintenance items that are the customer's responsibility to purchase. InfoPrint Solutions Company is committed to environmentally conscious programs for printer supplies. A collection program for used printer cartridges has been established and return instructions are included in the supply item packaging, with free return shipping. End users can contact InfoPrint Solutions Company for the name of a reseller in their area where printing supplies can be purchased. You must follow the problem determination and resolution procedures that InfoPrint Solutions Company specifies. Scheduling of service will depend upon the time of your call and is subject to parts availability. If applicable to your product, parts considered Customer Replaceable Units (CRUs) will be provided as part of the machine's standard warranty service. Service levels are response time objectives and are not guaranteed. The specified level of warranty service may not be available in all worldwide locations. Additional charges may apply outside InfoPrint Solutions Company's normal service area. Contact your local InfoPrint Solutions Company representative or your reseller for country- and location-specific information. This product is covered by the following types of service. Customer Replaceable Unit Service and On-site for other selected parts. CRU: InfoPrint Solutions Company provides replacement CRUs to you for you to install. CRU information and replacement instructions are shipped with your machine and are available from InfoPrint Solutions Company upon your request. CRUs are designated as being either a Tier 1 or a Tier 2 CRU. Tier 1 CRU: Installation of Tier 1 CRUs is your responsibility. If InfoPrint Solutions Company installs a Tier 1 CRU at your request, you will be charged for the installation. Tier 2 CRU: You may install a Tier 2 CRU yourself or request InfoPrint Solutions Company to install it, at no additional charge. Based upon availability, CRUs will be shipped for next-business-day delivery. InfoPrint Solutions Company specifies, in the materials shipped with a replacement CRU, whether a defective CRU must be returned to InfoPrint Solutions Company. When return is required, (1) return instructions and a container are shipped with the replacement CRU and (2) you may be charged for the replacement CRU if InfoPrint Solutions Company does not receive the defective CRU within 15 days of your receipt of the replacement.
