The iumination beam has been separated from the observation beam (Gustrand-Principe). A refexes are diverted away from the observation beam due to the curvature of the refective cornea. Due to the fat, compressed form of the ight beam, a maximum amount of ight enters through the pupi. [ 05 ] Once past the anterior chamber, the ight beam opens up dramaticay to iuminate a arge area of the retina.
