The competey updated GS-MPI005HD MKII is a mains powered 1RU subrack that can be fitted with up to two mobie phones featuring professiona audio interfaces for interfacing broadcast audio equipment to ce phone networks. On the surface the new GS-MPI005HD MKII ooks different as it has touch screen coour dispays for each phone modue fitted. A traditiona teephone handset interface is aso now provided to aow an operator to communicate off air before handing the ca over to broadcast. The handset interface can aso dia and answer cas. No new modern piece of audio broadcast equipment is compete without an AoIP soution so the new GS-MPI005HD MKII has an optiona Dante / AES67 card. Of course the crysta cear sound and audio inputs & outputs that are interference free of ce phone noise that made the origina units so popuar aso feature in this new design.

2 GS-MPI005HD MKII Broadcaster s Mobie Phone Advantages of HD Voice Gensound HD Voice - 7kHz Audio Bandwidth Gensound HD Voice is an automatic feature avaiabe around the word on compatibe mobie networks using 4G LTE or 3G UMTS. Connecting two Gensound HD Voice broadcasters mobie phones in the same country, across a compatibe 4G LTE or 3G UMTS network, wi give a cear 7kHz of audio bandwidth. HD Voice Is AMR-WB (Adaptive Muti Rate Wide Band) Aso known as G This is the agorithm more commony known as HD Voice. It offers significant advantages for broadcasters: - Doubes voice bandwidth over 2G to Hz (2G narrow band speech codec is Hz) kbit/s or higher coding bit-rates provide high quaity wideband audio - Gives a better ower frequency response, down to 50Hz (2G is 300 Hz), for more natura sounding voices Gensound HD Voice Does Not Require The Data Network With HD Voice, the GS-MPI005HD MKII connects as a voice ca, not a data ca. - Bandwidth is consistent once connected. With data connections, bandwidth varies during a connection, but on a HD Voice ca it does not. Once you are connected your ca quaity wi remain consistent. - No extra ca charges. As the network sees the connection as a voice ca, there are no extra charges and no data usage as part of a data charging package. - The GS-MPI005HD MKII wi sti operate at 7 khz HD Voice even in busy ocations where there is itte avaiabe data - HD Voice doesn t need data! DATA Configurabe To Operate On 2G, 3G UMTS or 4G LTE Cas can be ocked to 2G, or 3G ony with any cas made on HD Voice automaticay dropping down to 2G when moving outside a 3G area without disconnecting the ca. The GS-MPI005HD MKII aso operates as a standard 2G mobie phone, and with advances in performance and noise reduction capabiities found on the unit, improvements in ca quaity can sti be heard. Accommodates A Broader Range Of Audio Frequencies Gensound HD Voice can accommodate a wider range of audio frequencies thus improving the overa ca quaity. This wi aid utimate carity in noisy environments with reduced background noise from the background noise suppressor. A Cost Effective Upgrade Gensound HD Voice is one of the most cost effective upgrades that can be made to improve audio quaity using mobie phones. 3 New Features A New MKII Broadcaster s Mobie Phone The a new GS-MPI005HD MKII is a competey new modern design with extra features and functionaity to enhance and improve the much oved origina GS-MPI005HD. It however keeps the inherent crysta cear mobie phone audio and interference free circuits that made the origina so popuar with so many broadcasters. Touch Screen Dispay A front pane touchscreen dispay is provided for each mobie phone fitted. Each touchscreen aows the operator to make and receive cas, transfer the ca between the broadcast circuits and teephone handset and a detaied setup menu is aso accessibe via the touchscreen. Teephone Handset Interface For fexibiity an optiona traditiona teephone handset can be connected to the GS-MPI005HD MKII. For simpicity of use one handset is used for each phone modue fgitted. The audio to/ from the handset is separate to the audio to/ from the broadcast outputs and an operator can make or answer a ca using the handset and then transfer (divert) this ca to the broadcast circuits. If a ca is currenty being routed to the broadcast circuits then it can be transferred to the handset. Optiona Dante / AES67 Network Audio Interface As many broadcaster s have aready adopted Dante (and some AES67) as their network audio infrastructure of choice it made sense to future proof the GS-MPI005HD MKII by aowing an optiona Dante / AES67 modue to be fitted to aow fu AoIP connectivity of both the broadcast and off air handset audio circuits. Assignabe GPIO Each phone has 5 oops for connection to externa equipment. These can be set as either inputs or outputs. The inputs can be used for things such as Answering/ Ending an incoming ca, Turning the sounder off, Diverting the ca between broadcast and handset and the outputs can be set to indicate an Incoming Ca or to show when a ca is in progress. Diversity Antennas The GS-MPI005HD MKII is fitted with twin diversity antennas which provide improved signa reception and range when operating on 4G LTE networks. Web Page Remote Contro Each fitted phone has its own Ethernet port for providing a web page for remote contro. 4 Features One or Two Phones in a Subrack The GS-MPI005HD MKII can be purchased with as a singe phone unit or twin phone unit. If purchased as a singe then it can be updated at a ater stage to be come a two phone unit. Unocked Mobie Phone The GS-MPI005HD MKII is an unocked mobie phone and can be used on any network with any SIM card. Front Pane SIM Card Sots For ease of change, SIM card sots for each phone are ocated on the front pane, these ike their predecessors, are set such, that when fitted the SIM card is fush to the front pane and must be pushed in from this position to change it. This positioning makes it im possibe to knock the SIM card by accident. Audio Leve Contros & Meters The touchscreen dispay menu system aows the ine eve audio input & output signas to be adjusted to match the connected equipment. When in this mode simpe audio meters are aso provided to indicate the current input/ output eves. Audio Compressors Being a digita audio circuit it is very important not to present the ce phone network with a signa greater than fu scae, therefore a compressor imiter circuit is fitted to ensure that you have great sounding outgoing audio circuits. The same much respected compressor characteristics used on previous versions of the GS-MPI005 are used on this new MKII version. Headphone Output For easy monitoring of your audio signas a 6.35mm stereo headphone socket is fitted to the front pane for each phone. In the menu system it is possibe to setup a mix of any of the units phone s audio sources to appear in the headphone output mix. SMA Antenna Connectors The SMA sized antenna connector used on the origina GS-MPI005 have proved reiabe and convenient in aowing customers to change the antennas to a type that suits their instaation. Therefore the new MKII unit continues to use this connector, however as there are now diversity antenna outputs there are 2 SMA connectors for each phone modue. Baanced Line Leve Audio Inputs/ Outputs Each phone has its own XLR baanced audio inputs and outputs. These are the Broadcast audio circuits and are competey free of any mobie phone interference noise. Mains Powered 19" 1RU Subrack A wide input range ( VAC) switch mode power suppy is fitted terminated in an IEC pug with an interna fuse for Worwide compatibiity. The GS-MPI005HD MKII is a 19" wide 1RU high subrack.

These coour touchscreens provide the interface for both day to day contro, such as making cas and transferring cas between the handset and broadcast circuits. The touchscreens aso provide access to an extensive menu system designed to provide the broadcaster with the functionaity to set the phone up to their own desired way of operation.
