1 Revisions for VISRAD Support has been added for the SLAC MEC target chamber: 4 beams have been added to the Laser System: X-ray beam (fixed in Port P ), 2 movabe Nd:Gass (ong-puse) beams, 1 movabe short-puse beam. Anges for Diagnostic Ports: Ports are identified by their ange with respect to target chamber center (e.g., P ) has a poar ange of 90 degrees, and azimutha ange of 180 degrees. Laser Beam Capture/Cearance Cacuations: 1w (red cone) Footprint Cacuations can now be performed for NIF. In these cacuations, any portion of the target mesh on which two or more red cones overap are tracked. n Resuts are dispayed in the Main Graphics Frame (either shown automaticay after a cacuation, or using the n Dispay 1w Cone Overap menu item). A summary of the resuts are tabuated in the Capture/Cearance Reports diaog on the 1w (red cone) Footprint Report tab. n Enhanced aser beam cone radii are utiized (set using Min. Target Cearance in Red (1w) Cone Cearance / Footprint box; see beow). The section used to set parameters for the capture/cearance cacuations and the section used to show resuts have been separated into two different widgets (eft and right widgets shown beow):

2 Defaut setup parameters for aser beam capture/cearance have been added. Defaut vaues are stored in Preferences on the Config. Check tab (see beow). When cicking on the Set to Defauts button on the Set Capture/Cearance Parameters diaog, the defaut vaues for the setup parameters are oaded. NIF TaLIS Interference Checks: A new controer for supporting TaLIS Interference Checks has been added (see beow). To access the TaLIS Checks Controer, seect the NIF-OPS TaLIS Checks menu item. Supported checks incude: n Capture of 3w beams on target n Cearance of 3w beams for Target and Chamber Components n Cearance of 1w beams for Target and Chamber Components n 1w Footprint on target For each cacuation, the foowing are supported: n Setting the defaut view in the Main Graphics Frame n Starting the cacuation n Showing the cacuation status (In progress, Pass, Fai) n Showing tabuated resuts in the Capture/Cearance Reports diaog NIF CMT XML fie support: The abiity in input target and aser beam data from NIF CMT XML fies has been added. Supported data incudes: n Target Data n Target STP fie associated with each target mount n Laser Beam Data n Beam On/Off Data n Pointing Data: n Pointing position, with pointing provided in Cartesian (x,y,z) coordinates in the target chamber coordinate system. n Defocus (a positive vaue moves the ens towards the target) n For both position and defocus variabes, units of "cm", "mm", and "um" (microns) are supported. n Phase Pate (CPP) Data: n Phase pate name

3 The command ine for VISRAD startup has been updated to support accepting a NIF CMT XML fie as input. The fiename foows the "-n" switch (e.g., -n qsnifcmtxmfiename). Detais for command ine startup for VISRAD is provided in the documentation. Preferences: defaut directory for target CAD input fies identified in the CMT XML fie has been added on the Directories tab. NIF Laser Beams: The defaut vaues for the power in the red (1w) and green (2w) cones have been changed to have non-zero vaues. For each cone, the new defaut vaue is 5% of the tota cone power. (Defaut vaues are ony utiized for new workspaces.) Two NIF Phase Pates (CPPs) have been added: NIF CPP HWHM R-major (mm) HWHM R-minor (mm) Supergaussian n * No CPP um CPP Importing CAD Fies: Importing more than one CAD fie at a time is now supported (using the Fie Import CAD Fies menu item). When importing a STP-formatted CAD fie as a Target Component, if the CAD fie contains more than one object (or "shape"), a reference object is automaticay set up, and each of the CAD objects use this reference object as their Reference Coordinate System. This aows users to easiy rotate or transate the entire set of CAD objects. The reference object is a sma Cone object that is hidden when set up, and it is set to be ignored in aser deposition and radiosity simuations. When importing STP CAD fies, progress messages are posted on the bottom of the Main Window. Support for changing the Reference Coordinate System for mutipe Target Components has been added. To do this, right-cick on the Target Components List and seect the Set Ref. Coord. System menu item. Dispay of Laser Beams in Main Window: The abiity to show aser beams with an enhanced radius can be done using the Lasers Show Enhanced Radius menu item. n Enhanced radii vaues for the Fixed submenu item are set in the Cearance Report tab (Show in Main Window box) of the Capture/Cearance Reports diaog, and in the SRF Laser Parameters widget for OMEGA. n Enhanced radii vaues for other submenu items are set in the Set Capture/Cearance Parameters widget.

4 The abiity to imit the extent (distance from focus) for which aser beam cones are rendered has been added. To do this, seect the Edit Preferences menu item, and on the Lasers tab, set the vaue for Limit dispay of beams from focus. For NIF, this affects bue (3w) cones ony. Laser Beam Spot Overays: The abiity to adjust the thickness of contour ines for the beam spot overays has been added. To do this, seect the Edit Preferences menu item, and on the Lasers tab, set the vaue for the Line Thickness in the Beam Spot Overays box. Target Positioning Viewer: For NIF, the imits for x, y, and z transations have been increased from 10 mm to 30 mm. Chamber Component Parameters Diaog: Size/Gridding tab was added. This shows the number of surface eements and nodes that make up the Chamber Component, and its min/max x, y, and z node positions in the target chamber coordinate system. A vaues are not editabe. The Diagnostic Ports Seector, which is used by severa diaogs to seect the anges of a diagnostic port, has been updated. Check boxes are now at the top, and are used to show or hide sub-ports and unassigned ports. Unassigned ports are those that have Assignment string that is empty, or starts with either "Bank" or "Unassigned". The sub-ports of individua ports can be expanded or coapsed by cicking on the icon to the eft of the port ID. However, this capabiity is not avaiabe when sorting by other than the ID coumn. The ist can be searched by right-cicking in the ist and seecting the Find menu item. Copy/paste of position variabes: It is now possibe to copy and paste position variabes between diaogs. When this is done, a 3 position variabes are copied, and the geometry (Cartesian, cyindrica, or spherica) is tracked. When pasting into boxes using a different geometry, the position variabes are converted to that geometry. (Note: conversions to not take into account the Reference Coordinate System used for the position variabes.) To do this, right-cick on any of the 3 position boxes, and seected Copy (Paste) Position Variabes. The transparency used is specified in Graphics tab (Target Positioning Viewer box) in Preferences. Bug fixes: Set Viewing Parameters diaog: bug associated with setting the Scene position when using cyindrica geometry has been fixed. A probem that caused a crash to occur when importing STP-formatted CAD fies has been fixed. A probem that prevented the f-number of custom aser beams to be edited has been fixed. Crash that sometimes occurred when adding a GENERALIZED_MESH target component to the Chamber Components List has been fixed.
