1 DTA Installation Checklist Panasonic Dealership Name: I have read the notes below and understand that the installation can not be scheduled until all sections of this document are complete and have been returned to CommSoft. Name: Signed: Note - the checklist must be completed fully before an installation date can be confirmed. If the installation engineer is unable to commence or complete the installation on the arranged day, Panasonic will charge for an aborted installation. A new installation date will only be arranged once payment for the aborted installation has been received. CommSoft has provided this checklist to assist in the correct installation of the Desktop Telephony Assistant (DTA) software, the checklist is used to confirm that everything is in place for the installation. There are five sections to the checklist. These should be completed by the dealer and the customer s LAN / IT maintainer. 3 2. Telephone System to DTA Server PC Connection 2.1 Telephone System The following Panasonic Telephone Systems are compatible with the DTA. Check that the telephone system software level complies with one of those listed below. Tick the relevant box to confirm that the software level has been checked. Telephone System Type Minimum Software Level Select KX-TD 612E V KX-TD 816E KX-TD 1232E* V6 V6 KX-TDA 15/30E V KX-TDA 100/200E V KX-TDA 600E V *Note - double cabinet installations using the KX-TD1232E are connected via the call logging port in Master cabinet, DTA clients will not function in the Slave cabinet. 2.2 Telephone System and DTA Server PC Connection The DTA Server PC must be connected to the telephone system. The connection method depends on the telephone system being used. KX-TD612E / 816E / 1232E The KX-TD telephone systems are connected to the DTA Server PC using the SMDR call logging Port., please tick the following boxes to confirm the required settings have been performed and the required cable has been provided. Item Parameters & Settings KX-TD SMDR Call Logging Port 9600, Mark, 8, 1 Switched ON KX-TD to DTA Server PC Cable * CAT5 wiring & patch lead/s Note the KX-TD 816/1232 to DTA Server PC connection cable is a 25 way male D type to 9 way female D type. The KX-TD 612 has a 9 way male D type connector. If a Panasonic installation is being performed, the accredited installer will provide D type to RJ45 converters. The maximum un-amplified cable distance between KX-TD and DTA Server PC is 50 feet. * THE PANASONIC DEALER OR MAINTAINER MUST ensure that there is a working CAT5 connection with patch leads between the KX-TD system and the DTA Server PC. 4 KX-TDA15E / 30E / 100E / 200E / 600E These systems are connected to the DTA Server PC using a USB port or a CTI Link Card. If the USB port is to be used, please tick the boxes below confirming the following has been checked and a suitable cable is available. If a CTI Link Card is to be used (KX-TDA100E / 200E / 600E only), please tick the box below to confirm card has been fitted and the telephone system has been correctly configured. Item Parameters & Settings CTI Link Card * Static IP address & subnet mask * The IP address and subnet mask will need to be supplied to the dealer by the customer s IT maintainer. The dealer will need to ensure this information has been used to program the CTI Link Card options for the telephone system. Please supply the IP address in the below box. CTI Link Card Static IP address 3. DTA Server PC Specifications Please complete the following information. * Fields are mandatory *Computer Name: *Logon Name: Password: (Can be supplied on the day of installation) *CPU Type and Speed: (Must be 300MHz or above) *System Memory: (Must be 256MB or above) Windows 2000 Professional (SP4): Windows 2000 Server (SP4): Windows XP Professional (SP2): Select the OS installed on the DTA Issue 11 Panasonic UK Limited working in conjunction with CommSoft (Europe) Limited 4 of 7
5 Windows 2003 Server Standard Edition (SP1): Server Windows 2003 Server Small Business Edition (SP1): *Available free hard disk storage capacity: (1GB or above) *Network Connected & workgroup or domain configured: *Unused serial port: (Mandatory for a KX-TD telephone system) *Unused Parallel port for Parallel dongle: (Mandatory for Parallel dongle) *2 Unused USB ports for connection to a KX-TDA system via USB cable and / or USB dongle: (Mandatory for USB dongle and USB connection to a KX-TDA system) Yes: No: Yes: No: Dedicated DTA Server PC: Yes: No: If above is No then specify what else the PC is being / will be used for: IMPORTANT: It is recommended that the DTA Server software is not installed on the main company network server. This is for practical maintenance purposes, to avoid disruption during installation and minimise the risk of any possible application conflicts. If the DTA server application is installed on the main company server and a conflict or problem does occur Panasonic / CommSoft will not be liable for any cost involved in moving the DTA to an alternative PC, loss of service or data loss. 4. DTA Client PC Specifications Please complete the following information. * Fields are mandatory. *All PCs with a CPU speed 300Mhz or above: *All PCs with system memory 256MB or above: Windows 2000 Professional (SP4): Windows 2000 Server (SP4): Windows XP Professional (SP2): Windows 2003 Server Standard Edition (SP1): Windows 2003 Server Small Business Edition (SP1): *Minimum free hard disk space 500MB or above: **Networked and privileges to access DTA Server: C all pc s have a listed OS Issue 11 Panasonic UK Limited working in conjunction with CommSoft (Europe) Limited 5 of 7
6 **Note All DTA Client PCs will need to be able to access the folder <Drive>:\RT\User\Database with Read, Write and Modify network privileges, when the DTA Server application is installed. This may require configuration by the network maintainer. 5. Application Automation The DTA is able to integrate to a number of third-party applications. This integration may include one or more of the following: Display additional information, such as name and company, for incoming calls. Automatically screen-pop the third-party application with the record that contains the caller s details. Ability to dial a number from the third-party application. 5.1 Standard Macros The DTA performs the above (apart from dialling) using the DTA Macro engine. Below is a list of macros included in the DTA package. Please indicate if any of the macros will need to be configured during installation. Application Description Required Microsoft Outlook Two versions of macro available one for name lookup and one for CLI lookup. TAPI dialling available from outlook. Symantec ACT! GoldMine Maximizer These versions only perform a lookup on the local Outlook Contacts folder. A custom macro will need to be ordered to search in the Exchange Server Global Contacts folder. CLI contact lookup macro available. TAPI dialling from ACT available. Two versions of CLI lookup macro; native DTA CLI lookup and DDE CLI lookup. Dialling using DTA Goldmine dialler executable. CLI contact lookup macro available. TAPI dialling available from Maximizer. 5.2 Custom Macros If the DTA is being used to integrate with a custom database or business software application then a Custom Macro is required. Custom macros are not supplied with the DTA. Custom macros can be produced using the DTA macro editing and production facility. Custom integration often involves the use of other scripting or programming languages. Any requirement for custom integration should be pre-arranged with the DTA installer or IT authority. This work is not included in the standard installation of the DTA application unless this has been specifically agreed in advance with the Panasonic dealer and Panasonic accredited DTA installer. The production of custom integration using DTA custom macros, 3 rd party scripting or programming applications may be undertaken by the customers IT authority.
