3 Introduction Purpose The purpose of this Application Note is to provide step-by-step instructions to set up port forwarding on the iconnectaccess624w modem on release of software. Audience This document is intended for a technical audience. Requirements You must be able to connect to the iconnectaccess624w from the LAN computer s web browser. OPEN Networks Pty Ltd Page 3

4 Log In ëíéé=n= Open a web browser and type the following in the Address bar: ëíéé=o= In the Log In screen, enter username root and password ØP3N. NOTE: The first character of the password is a zero and the password is case sensitive. OPEN Networks Pty Ltd Page 4

5 Using Predefined Rules ëíéé=n= Click the Advanced tab. ëíéé=o= Click the menu item from the Advanced menu. OPEN Networks Pty Ltd Page 5

6 ëíéé=p= Select the IP address of the host computer accepting the forwarded port connections from the LAN IP drop-down list. NOTE: It is recommended that Static IP Addresses rather than DHCP IP Addresses be used for. Should the IP address of the computer not be listed under LAN IP, it can be added using the New IP button. For instructions on adding a new IP address see Add A LAN Client. OPEN Networks Pty Ltd Page 6

7 ëíéé=q= Select the rule from the predefined list of rules: Highlight the required radio button in the Category area of the screen to display a list of rules; Highlight the rule in the Available Rules area to select it; Click Add to move the rule to the Applied Rules area of the screen. ëíéé=r= If the application or service that you require is not listed, user-defined rules can be added in the User category. For instructions on adding user-defined port forwarding rules, see Create Rules. Click the Save / Restart Menu item from the menu list. OPEN Networks Pty Ltd Page 7

8 ëíéé=s= ëíéé=t= Click Save All to save the rule permanently. A message appears advising the configuration will be permanently saved. Click OK. ëíéé=u= ëíéé=v= Click Restart to restart the modem. 9 Create Rules ëíéé=n= ëíéé=o= Click the Advanced tab, then select from the menu list. From the screen, highlight the User radio button in the Category area of the screen. ëíéé=p= ëíéé=q= Click the New button. The Rule Management screen displays. In the Rule Management screen, complete the following: Enter a name for the new rule in the Rule Name field; Enter the port number the traffic will be arriving on in the Port Start and Port End fields; Enter the port number the server will be listening on in the Port Map field. 10 ëíéé=r= Click Apply. The new rule will display in the Rules Management table. ëíéé=s= Add any other required ports to this user-defined rule. Once complete, click Port Forwarding from the menu list. ëíéé=t= ëíéé=u= Highlight the User radio button from the Category area of the screen. Highlight the new defined rule and follow the procedure from step 3 of Using Predefined Rules. OPEN Networks Pty Ltd Page 10

11 Add A LAN Client ëíéé=n= Click either New IP from the screen, or LAN Client from the Advanced menu to display the LAN Clients screen: ëíéé=o= Complete the following on the LAN Clients screen: Enter the IP Address of your computer in the Enter IP Address field; Enter a hostname for your computer in the Hostname field; MAC Address is optional. ëíéé=p= Click Apply. 12 The new LAN client will be added to the Static Addresses table, and will now be available to select in the LAN IP field in the screen. ëíéé=r= Click the Save / Restart Menu item from the menu list. OPEN Networks Pty Ltd Page 12
