2 Yearly Technology Guide, Goals and Procedures *Stallion Technology Checkpoint: Please be sure to complete the Stehlik Technology Check Point Course as the sign-out and return for technology. Goals: (Beginning and Throughout the Year) Teacher should include some type of technology in every lesson Level UP: 9 teachers who complete the Level Up Online Course through Schoology will receive a half set of Chromebooks. 370 Chromebooks are used for technology integration at Stehlik 90 Chromebooks reside with the Testing Coordinator and may be reserved when testing is not in progress. The Testing Coordinator will be the contact for these. Each of the 4 Skills Specialists will maintain 40 Chromebooks for their department. Those may be reserved by contacting them directly 117 Chromebooks reside in technology office and may be reserved by sending Mr. Colter an specifying the days needed Lab # 633 is used for students and staff and may be reserved by sending Mr. Colter an specifying the days needed. He will alert you of availability Web 2.0 tools are available as instructional resources at Printers. 8 new printers will be placed in the courtyards on campus to ensure that all staff members can print. However, if there are large jobs we ask that you get with your department Skills Specialist for access to the office printer. SAMR is a model designed to help educators infuse technology into teaching and learning. Developed by Dr. Ruben Puentedura, the model supports and enables teachers to design, develop, and infuse digital learning experiences that utilize technology. SAMR Coaching is available for staff all staff members and 10 will be selected as a coaching collaboration As it relates to the Bright Bytes Survey that is given in the fall and spring of each school the overall goal is to increase Stehlik s SAMR technology integration level in the modification level.
3 Technology Reservations: Campus Work Order Requests: Chromebooks reside in technology office and may be reserved by sending Mr. Colter an specifying the days needed Lab # 633 is used for students and staff and may be reserved by sending Mr. Colter an specifying the days needed. He will alert you of availability IPads: 19 IPads will reside with the ELA Skills Specialist as prescribed by a grant. Passwords: Write down your passwords for Novell, Gmail, etc. and store in a secure location in the case of experiencing challenges upon your return. Please be sure to log into the Aldine ISD Service Console to update your challenge questions and to ensure that your network login credentials are up to date Cleaning: Please do a thorough cleaning of your computers before leaving for the summer. Do not spray any liquid solutions directly on the computer (use a feather duster or air can). Please be sure to neatly roll up all cords and label them with the Class # for accuracy
4 Teachers Administrative Computers: Upload all files to your Google Drive Account. You have limited space in your Aldine ISD Google Accounts. Note: You can save any type of file to the Google Drive, but the file may not open. You can download the file to any device to use the file as Microsoft Office file. Delete all your files from the Desktop and My Documents Folder on the hard drive. There may be room changes for next year and the teacher computer stays in the room per district policy. Cover computers with a sheet, cloth or craft paper. Do not use plastic bags. Lock up the teacher keyboard and mouse in your classroom closet. Please label computer equipment with the room number, not your name. Student Computers: Delete all files from the desktop regularly and My Documents Folder on the hard drive. Place and cover computers with a sheet, cloth or craft paper. Do not use plastic bags. (End of Year) Lock up the student keyboards and mouse(s) in your classroom closet. (End of Year) Please label computer equipment with the room number, not your name. (End of Year) Tech Equipment to be placed in locked closet: ELMO/LUMENS(red, portable LCD Projectors and Scanners) (End of Year) LASER PRINTERS Shut down, unplug and cover with a sheet, cloth or craft paper. Do not use plastic bags. (End of Year) Temporary-Building Teachers: Teachers in temporary buildings need to store your technology equipment in Room #536 on a cart covered with a sheet, cloth or craft paper. Please label with the room number, not your name. (End of Year) Deleting Files: 1. Click one time on the document you want to delete 2. Right click and drag over to the Recycle bin (OR right click on the file and select DELETE.) 3. A window will pop open that states: Are you sure you want to send: (name of file) to the Recycle Bin? Click YES if you are sure you have a copy on a disk of the document. Deleting s: Please purge over 3 years old. Select the document(s) you want to delete and click the trash can (OR right click on the file(s) and select DELETE.) Delete all JUNK s and empty s in the TRASH CAN. Saving to your U Drive Save all your documents to your U drive and you can access them any where you are in the building by logging into Novell. 1. Open My Computer 2. Look for a network drive that has your name on it. 3. Select, Drag & Drop your files to the drive and all your documents will be backed up for next year. Note: DO NOT click and drag the My Documents icon to your U drive as this will not save any documents!!!
5 Summer School Classrooms: Please leave your teacher computer set up for the Summer School teacher. You will receive an of the list of rooms used this summer. Old Broken Equipment: If you have any old and broken equipment, there will be a time and place designated to receive these items. Please DO NOT store old and broken equipment in closets/cabinets. * Please make sure that the equipment is indeed broken and unusable, as we don t want to lose valuable resources. Campus Checkout: Clean computers. Clean/wipe Elmo/Lumens Take a picture of your connections as a reminder to re-connect your computer with supporting equipment. Place all student computers on the side counter after cleaning. Label all devices and cords/cables with your current classroom and place them inside the cabinet. Turn in any district mobile devices.
