4 About Goose Goose is a mobile workforce management application. It gives organizations the ability to dispatch jobs to field employees and monitor progress as the daily work is completed. With Goose, managers and dispatchers within companies can: Build and optimize routes for field employees Routes can be optimized for the shortest distance between stops for the day. Dispatch routes to field employees Routes can be dispatched from the managers and dispatchers to the field employees mobile devices. Communicate with field employees via text messaging Managers and dispatchers can send messages to individual field employees, groups of field employees, or broadcast messages to all field employees. Monitor employee time keeping Field employees can use Goose to clock in and out each day and display their on-duty and off-duty status to managers and dispatchers along with timecards of where they clocked in and out. Inform waiting clients of ETA s ETA s can be sent to waiting clients with pictures of the field employees as well as contact information. Capture Proof of Service Records Copyright 2018 FieldLogix 4

5 Field employees can take pictures of completed work, capture client signatures, scan barcodes, and add notes to completed jobs. Receipts can be sent to the clients. Track field employees as the day progresses Managers and dispatchers can track field employees via GPS tracking and view which jobs have been completed, are active, and are pending. MobileIron Integration Features The MobileIron platform can be used to add and manage credentials for each Goose mobile user. The current features include: Add username & passwords for users Configure the mobile device s screen to be locked when the user is traveling more than 10 miles per hour. This is a safety feature that allows the device to operate normally, but disables all touchscreen and keyboard input while traveling greater than 10 miles per hour. About This Guide This guide has been created to assist an organization s administrative users in setting up the Goose Workforce Management mobile users in the MobileIron Mobile Device Manager. 7 Prerequisites - You have an active Goose Workforce Management account - You have at least one active field employee (or driver) setup in the Goose Workforce Management account - You have an active account with MobileIron. - You have access to the MobileIron Admin Portal - Your field employees are using smartphones operating on the Android operating system. 8 Quick Installation 1. Set Custom Attributes for users After adding the user, you ll need to set the custom attributes for the user. Go to Settings > System Settings > Users & Devices > Custom Attributes Copyright 2018 FieldLogix 8

9 Once you are in Custom Attributes, select Add In the Attributes window, select the following in the Value Type dropdown fields (required): Attribute Name: goosepassword - Select: String (without quotes) Attribute Name: gooseusername - Select: String (without quotes) Attribute Name: lockscreenover10mph - Select: Boolean (without quotes) *BE SURE TO COPY THE VARIABLE NAMES TO BE USED LATER Copyright 2018 FieldLogix 9

10 2. Add Goose app Go to Apps > App Catalog and select add to add Goose Select In-House Copyright 2018 FieldLogix 10

11 Upload the Goose.apk file provided to you by FieldLogix. If you do not have the.apk file, contact FieldLogix at Copyright 2018 FieldLogix 11

12 Add a description of the app in the Description field and click next. Select the checkbox for Feature this App in the Apps@Work Catalog if you would like your employees to see the app in their app catalog. You can also select featured banner or upload the app screenshots if you would like to provide more details. Click Next. 14 Select the checkbox for Mandatory if you would require the app to be installed on your users devices. Select Silent Install if you would like it silently installed on the users devices. Always select the checkbox for Require the user to install the latest version of the app in order to run it. This will ensure that the app will continue to function properly as updates are released. 15 Back at the Apps > App Catalog screen, click the Goose checkbox and click the Action button and select the Apply to Labels option from the dropdown. Select the checkbox next to Android and click the Apply button 3. Policies & Configurations Go to Policies and Configs > Appconfig > Configurations > Appconfig and click edit In the AppConfiguration window, enter the following in the Value fields exactly as they appear without the quotes (required): Copyright 2018 FieldLogix 15

16 In the value field for password - Enter: $CUSTOM_USER_GOOSEPASSWORD$ (without quotes) In the value field for username - Enter: $CUSTOM_USER_GOOSEUSERNAME$ (without quotes) In the value field for enablespeedlock - Enter: $CUSTOM_USER_LOCKSCREENOVER10MPH$ (without quotes) Click save, then Yes on confirmation popup Copyright 2018 FieldLogix 16

17 4. Add a user Once you log into the MobileIron portal, you must add the users who will be accessing the Goose application. Go to Devices & Users > Users > Add In the Add new User popup, enter the user s User ID, first and last name, display name, password, and address. Copyright 2018 FieldLogix 17

18 Go to devices and users and select users and select the check box for the user, then select set custom attributes from the Actions dropdown. Enter your values for the user s username and password and select true or false for lock screen over 10mph. Defaults to off if the true value is not selected. Copyright 2018 FieldLogix 18

20 5. Test Verify that the users credentials are stored on their device and that they can log into Goose. Also, test a device to verify that the screen locks when traveling greater than 10 miles per hour.
