7 Fuelbook Fuelbook for Fleet Discounts on Diesel Fuel What is Fuelbook? Fuelbook is free app for iphone and Android mobile devices that allows you to search diesel prices and take advantage of the Evans Network of Companies fleet discount, as well as other benefits. Install Fuelbook If you are using a corporate tablet, Fuelbook is already installed. If you are using your own smartphone or tablet, then 1. Access the Google Play store from your Android-powered mobile device or the Apple AppStore from your iphone or ipad. 2. Search for and install Fuelbook. Register NOTE: If you are using a corporate tablet, do NOT attempt to install Fuelbook yourself from the Google Play store. Fuelbook is already installed. 1. Open Fuelbook. If displayed, read and then tap OK on the safety reminder. 2. Tap Fuel Code (Android) or Code (iphone). 3. Enter the Evans Network of Companies Fuelbook code 8120 over the letters C O D E. 4. Enter your own name and your own address; then tap Submit. Use Fuelbook 1. Open the Fuelbook app on your mobile device; then tap Diesel. 2. Tap Quick Nearby Search or enter whatever search criteria you choose. 3. Then tap Power Search. 4. Sort by Price, Distance, or Less IFTA. 5. Scroll through your results and choose a fueling location. Get your Discount 1. Purchase your fuel using your Comdata Card. 2. Your receipt will show the regular price from the pump, but your weekly settlement will reflect the discount. 9 BigRoad BigRoad and Dashlink for Electronic Logs What is BigRoad? BigRoad is a mobile app for Android and ios devices in use with the Electronic Logs Program at the Evans Network of Companies. It works with the Dashlink device. How can I get BigRoad? Call or talk to your Terminal Manager. How do I install the BigRoad app? If you are using a corporate rental tablet, the BigRoad app is already installed. If you are using your own smartphone or tablet, you may download the BigRoad app from the Google Play store (for Android devices) or from the AppStore (for ios devices). 17 erigs The Evans Real-time Information Gateway System What is erigs? The Evans Real-time Information Gateway System (erigs ) will help you handle many tasks while on the road, including: Accept loads assigned to you by your dispatcher. Quickly and easily update the status of your loads. Electronically capture and submit proof of delivery (POD) documents. Avoid miscommunication and save miles with the erigs mobile app. Who can use erigs? Your dispatcher must use the Dispatch Grid (in the Evans Agent Portal) to assign your loads and you will need an Android-powered smartphone or tablet to use the app. What does it cost? There is no charge for using the erigs mobile app. However, there may be costs associated with using your smartphone or tablet, such as purchase cost, rental fees, and/or data plan charges. 19 Using the erigs Mobile App Log In to erigs 1. To open the erigs app, tap on the green e icon on your device s Home Screen. 2. To log in to the erigs app, enter your Evans PitStop username and password using the onscreen keyboard, then tap the Login button. If you don t know your PitStop username and password, please contact your agent or terminal manager for assistance. Log Out of erigs To log out of the erigs app, tap the padlock icon. 20 Navigating erigs Navigating the erigs app is simple Just tap the buttons and tabs with your fingertip or a stylus. IMPORTANT: Never use a pen, marker, pencil, or other writing instrument on your device screen. Viewing Your Loads From the erigs My Orders, you can view the loads that have been assigned to you. 22 Take Action on a Load From the Load Details screen, you can take action on the load by tapping one of the buttons, including: Accept the load Update the status of the load Capture and submit proof of delivery (POD) and other documents Accepting a Load If you haven t accepted the load yet, tap Accept on the Load Details screen to accept it. You ll be alerted that the status was successfully updated to Accepted. Just tap OK. The Load Details screen will be displayed again. 23 Updating the Status of a Load Departure/Outgate, Loaded or Unloading, Departed Pick-Up or Delivery, Completed 1. If you have accepted the load, tap Status Update on the Load Details screen to update the status. 2. Tap the down-arrow on the Select menu. 25 Updating the Status of a Load (continued) Dropped Loaded or Dropped Empty 1. Updating the load s status to Dropped Loaded or Dropped Empty requires an additional step. 2. As with any other status update, start by tapping Status Update on the Load Details screen. 3. Then tap either Dropped Loaded or Dropped Empty. In this example, we tapped Dropped Loaded. 26 Updating the Status of a Load (continued) 4. erigs will remind you that this status update will clear the load from your list of assigned loads. If you need to send any documents, tap Cancel; otherwise tap Continue. 5. After you tap Continue, you ll specify the yard. 6. Select the yard where you are dropping the equipment. Then tap Save. NOTE: If the yard is not listed, just tap Cancel and contact your agent or terminal manager to provide this status update. 27 Submitting Documents You can electronically capture and submit Proof of Delivery (POD) and other documents using one of two methods. The Electronic method allows the authorized recipient to sign a POD directly on your device. The Camera method allows you to take a picture of the signed paper document. NOTE: Always use the Electronic option for PODs unless instructed otherwise by your Agent. With either method, you ll submit the document directly to Evans, eliminating the need to find a local fax machine or rush back to the office with your documents. Even if you are not in a 4G LTE service area, your device will hold the documents and upload them as soon as you re-enter an active service area. IMPORTANT: Always leave your device powered on so that pending documents may be sent as soon as you enter an active service area. Using the Electronic Method 1. After tapping Send POD on the Load Details screen, tap ONSCREEN SIGNATURE to capture and submit and electronic proof of delivery document. 29 Using the Electronic Method (continued) 3. If the person signing requests a copy of the document, ask him or her to type in an address, then tap Continue. (If no copy is requested, just tap Continue.) 4. Hold your device horizontally and ask the authorized recipient to use his/her finger or a stylus to sign directly on your device screen. 5. If the authorized recipient is satisfied with the signature, tap Done. Otherwise, tap Clear to erase the signature and sign again, or tap Cancel to return to the proof of delivery form without saving the signature IMPORTANT! Always use your fingertip or stylus to sign or tap on your device screen. Pencils, markers, or pens will damage the screen. 30 Using the Electronic Method (continued) 6. The authorized recipient s signature is now shown on the onscreen proof of delivery form. If the signature is legible, tap Send. (Otherwise, tap Sign again.) 7. On the Preview and Submit Document screen, you ll have a final opportunity to enter any address(es) for requested copies and review the document. 8. 31 Using Camera Capture Best Practices for Camera Capture Ensure good lighting Make sure you re in a well-lit area and that the light can reach your document. If the cab of your truck or the room you are in is dimly lit, then your image will be dark too. Use a light background Place the document on a light background, like a piece of white cardboard or fabric. With a dark background, the camera will try to balance the shades, making your entire image darker. Keep a steady hand Hold your device steady while capturing your image to ensure a clear image with readable text. If needed, brace your arm against something solid. Avoid shadows Hold your device so that it doesn t block the light. Try propping your clipboard against something; then you can hold your device vertically in front of your document instead of over it. Frame the document Make sure that the document fills the entire frame of your camera screen. If your image shows other items in the background, then you re too far away from the document to get a clear image. Review image before sending Take a look at your image before you tap that Send button. If it s not a clear, well-framed, bright image, then tap the Cancel button and try again. Otherwise, tap Cancel to discard and retake the picture. 4. When you are satisfied that you have taken a clear picture, tap Send. Just like with the electronic/onscreen method, on the Preview and Submit Document screen, you ll have a final opportunity to enter any address(es) for requested copies and review the document. 6.
