1 Onsite Installation Instructions: 1) Verify and note the.net Framework, Microsoft OS Version and Administrative rights. i) Should any of these items be incorrect STOP THE INSTALLATION and notify the Customer and the Automated Meter Collection Personnel Or call us with any questions at or ) Verify/Discuss the Hardware with Customer a) PERRY protech recommends installation on a Server. b) If a server is not available, a PC/workstation is permitted as long as the PC/Workstation is logged into daily. c) Installation on a Laptop is not permitted. 3) Installation Instructions based on OS (Operating System) a) Microsoft Windows 8 or Windows Server 2012 b) Microsoft Windows Vista/7/ and Microsoft Windows Server 2008 c) Microsoft Windows XP/Lower and Microsoft Windows Server 2003 and lower 4) Configure Onsite 5) Verify that the correct machines are reporting! 6) Finished Page 1

2 Automated Meter Collection Software Minimum Requirements PERRY protech Automated Meter Collection Software (Onsite) requires the following minimum configuration: Microsoft.NET Framework 2.0 (provided in Windows Update) Microsoft Windows 2000/XP/2003/Vista/7/2008/2008 R2 (32-bit or 64-bit) For Microsoft Windows 8 and Microsoft Windows Server 2012 The Microsoft NET Framework feature must be turned on within the Programs and Features option off the Control Panel. Requires a User with Administrative permissions to install correctly For Microsoft Windows Vista/7 and Microsoft Windows Server 2008 Requires a User with Administrative permissions to install correctly Internet Explorer 7.0 or higher (or compatible) 23 Megabytes Hard Disk Space MDAC 2.6 or higher (Windows 2000 Only. Download MDAC update now) Jet 4.0 (Windows 2000 Only. Download Jet update now) Below are the ports and url s that may need additional firewall permissions. Please check your firewall to be sure that the data is capable of being sent through your firewall. 3 Configure Onsite a) Open FMAudit Onsite Application i) C:\Program Files\PERRYproTECH\LaunchUI.exe ii) A new tab will open in the Windows Internet Exployer Browser iii) Click on the Login Button (Do not change Username/password) iv) At this point, verify that the Account Name in Onsite matches the Account name in Central. If the account names are different, please change so they both match before continuing. v) Click on the Settings Option in the Menu Bar. Page 3

4 vi) Click on the Network Option. Click on the IPv4 Tab to enter begin entering in the IP addresses 1 Click on Add List to enter a range of IP addresses. Validate Configuration Settings: Check: Enable Task Period: 4 Hours Start Date: Current Date and Time Check: Send to FMA Central Make Changes as needed and click Apply. When the Changes are applied, click Start Now. Page 4

5 ii) Repeat the steps in (i) above for the Status Data, and Service Data Tasks. iii) Click on the Auto-Update Task and verify that it is enabled. iv) After the Historical Data, Status Data and Service Data have been started, Click on Account in the Menu Bar, and then Activity Log. (1) Verify no error messages (Call if error messages) (2) Verify data was received in Central (Call if no data has been received) v) Validate the the correct machines are reporting! Page 5

6 Install Microsoft Windows Vista, Windows 7, Windows 8, Windows Server 2012 i) Assumption: (1) The USER ID has Administrative Permissions (2).NET Framework is already installed and enabled and/or the Features have been enabled. ii) Log into your account in the Automated Meter Collection Software (1) url: meters.perryprotech.com (2) userid: your address (3) password: Perry123 iii) The Home Page is displayed. Navigate to the Accounts Page. Click on Accounts Option in Either the Menu or Quick Navigation Area Page 6

7 iv) Search for the Customer that is being installed Enter a small portion of the Customer Name and Click Go Page 7

8 v) A list of Accounts that have the Search Criteria will be presented. Click on the Customer Account Name. The Account information will then appear as follows: TO START THE INSTALLATION: CLICK ON THE ONSITE INSTALL BUTTON vi) The following screen is displayed to download the installer file. Click Click to download button. If prompted DO NOT RUN this file! Always SAVE the file and RUN the saved FILE as Administrator! Page 8

9 vii) CAUTION: If this message is shown please close out of the screen by clicking on the X viii) Navigate to the saved Download File. Select the file, Right-click and Run as Administrator! ix) While running this file, there will be three comman prompt screens display. To ensure a successful install, please count these screens and be certain all three of them have executed. (1) First command screen is to start the installation (2) Second command screen is to install the.net application (3) Third comman screen is to start the FMAudit Service. x) Installation has started when the first command screen is displayed: xi) Next the FMAudit Onsite Installer is displayed. Click next on this screen. Page 9

10 xii) The FMAudit Onsite Set-up Screen is then displayed. Change the install Folder to: C:\Program Files\PERRYproTECH. (1) This is completed by placing your cursor inside the text box and removing the FMAudit folder and replacing it with PERRYproTECH. No need to click on the Change button just change the text in the text box (2) After the Install Folder has been changed, Click Next. Page 10

11 (3) The second command screen will appear that signifies that the.net application has been installed: (4) A third command screen will flash to signify that the Service has been started. (5) The Installation Successful screen will appear. Click Finish and the screen will disappear (along with the first command screen)! (6) Configure Onsite Page 11

12 Install Microsoft Windows 8 or Windows Server 2012 a) For Microsoft Windows Vista/7 and Microsoft Windows Server 2008 i) Enable.NET Framework Features so that Version is included. (1) Windows 8 Workstation: (a) Go to Control Panel, Programs & Features and Click on Turn Windows Features on or off (b) (c) The Windows Feature screen will appear and Load. Click on Microsoft.NET Framework to select the feature and Click OK. Enable.NET F Click OK after the.net Microsoft Framework is selected to enable the feature (d) (e) Wait for response that the Feature has been enabled and click here to begin Installation! Page 12

14 (c) Click the.net Framework Features Option as shown below. Once selected click Next until the feature is installed. (d) Wait for response that the Feature has been enabled and click here to begin Installation! Page 14
