Overview Thank you for becoming an iqsystem center to deliver exams for Microsoft Office Specialist. This Guide outlines the installation and administration of the iqsystem. System Requirements Before you can install the iqsystem software on a workstation, ensure the workstation meets the following requirements: "Complete" Office installation. A "Complete" installation of Office Professional is necessary for MOS testing. If "Complete" was not selected at installation, go to Control Panel/Add or Remove Programs. Click on Office and select "Change". Choose "Add or remove features" and continue. If any boxes are grey you do not have a complete install and must select "Run all from my computer" then update. Administrative Rights. Certiport Console is a front-end to Certiport's iqsystem exam delivery system. Using Certiport Console allows iqsystem to run in a standard user Windows account. This includes all functionality of iqsystem test candidates taking exams, administrators using iqsystem tools, and performing software updates for iqsystem and the exams. RAM. Centers that are running any exams except Office 2007 and 2010 only need 512 MB of RAM, but centers that want to test Office 2007 and Office 2007 applications need to have 1 gig. Correct OS with correct SP level. Centers must use the professional version of the Operating System. We do not work with home or other versions. You should also check the service pack level and ensure you are up to date. Windows XP needs to be at service pack 3. The Operating System, Office suite and iqsystem version MUST be the same language. Correct Office Versions. Centers must have the Professional or Business version of Office suite if running the MOS exams. We support Office Office 2003 should have service pack 4 and office 2007 needs to have service pack 3. My Documents folder. Must be setup to run locally from C: drive My Pictures folder. Must be setup to run locally from C: drive Internet Connection Minimum requirement. Centers must be able to maintain at least 256 kbps connectivity to each machine during testing. Firewall/Proxy. We recommend that centers do not go through a firewall or proxy, but if one is required, please refer to the following list of critical items that must be considered when configuring a proxy server or firewall: The domain certiport.com needs to be accessible. The following IP addresses certprep.certiport.com iqc.certiport.com info.certiport.com 2011 CCI Learning Solutions Inc. P a g e 1

Digital Literacy MySpeed Certiport Terminal Server Certiport Terminal Server Certiport FTP Certiport FTP All need to have full access through ports 80 (HTTP) and 443 (HTTPS) and need access through port 21 TCP HTTP redirects needs to be permitted (these are all completed within the certiport.com domain). BrowserLockdown2.exe is started by the ActiveX control when Lockdown is engaged at the beginning of an exam. If the Testing Center's security software (firewall, antivirus, antispyware, etc.) is not configured to allow this program the same rights as Internet Explorer to access the internet, you may experience: A white screen when the exam attempts to start. The tutorial loads and works but some or all of the exam content does not load Questions start loading but never complete Note: If the internet is accessed through an authenticating proxy server and the system is not configured to automatically pass credentials to it, you will experience the symptoms listed above. Security configurations should be changed so that full access to the internet is given to BrowserLockdown2.exe usually by the IT department or personnel due to access rights. Pop-up blockers. Pop-up blockers and phish filtering should be turned off. Also we request no Internet Explorer toolbars be installed, because they have built-in blockers. Some of these toolbars include Google and Yahoo toolbars. Please remove them if they are currently installed. Adobe. Centers need to install adobe flash in order to run the iqsystem and online exams. Restoring Software. Certain software is built to restore the PC to its original state upon rebooting, such as Deep Freeze. If you are using such software, it must be disabled before testing. Our systems use tracking so that in case a exam crashes, a reboot can be performed and candidates start from where they left off. If this type of software is installed, it will remove all tracking. Outlook Accounts. You cannot have any.pst folder configured on the tests machines if you plan to test the Outlook exams. You must use a default setup with no server support. This means no other outlook personal files setup. Other testing software. iqsystem uses concurrent technology and uses paths inside your machine to run. Other testing software has been found to change our paths or corrupt it. If Certiport is on a machine, we would suggest limiting the amount of other software installed to that machine. This will ensure the best test results. Local settings. Centers should ensure that the clock and time setting for their area are correctly set on each PC. 2 P a g e 2011 CCI Learning Solutions Inc.

.Net 3.5 installed. Machines must have.net 3.5 to run the iqsystem exams. Browser Lockdown Configuration (Certiport Online Exams) A quick installation of Certiport Browser Lockdown 2 is required for all Certiport Online Exams. If this has not been installed prior to launching an exam, you will be prompted to do so. An ActiveX bar will appear at the top of your screen on the Proctor Authorization page. Click on the ActiveX bar and select Install. For more information, click here. iqsystem uses concurrent technology which uses hard-coded paths and the registry inside the machine to run. We recommend iqsystem be installed on a machine with as few other software applications installed as possible. 2 P a g e 2011 CCI Learning Solutions Inc.

Steps to update to a "Complete" Office configuration: 1. Start Control Panel. 2. Select Uninstall a program (with XP, select Add/Remove Programs). 3. Select Microsoft Office and click Change as shown here: 2011 CCI Learning Solutions Inc. P a g e 3

5. If there are any greyed out boxes as shown below, it indicates you do not have a Complete install and must update. Proceed to step CCI Learning Solutions Inc. P a g e 5

6. Click on the drop down arrow for Microsoft Office and click Run all from My Computer. Then click Continue. The system will now update and request a reboot to finish. When your system restarts, you will have a complete Office installation. 6 P a g e 2011 CCI Learning Solutions Inc.

Understanding the iqsystem Roles There is a hierarchy of roles and access rights that one can have with the iqsystem, starting with the Test Candidate and going up to the Organization Administration. This is shown in the following where each of the higher circles can set up roles within their own circle. For instance, an Organization Member can set up someone to have the role of Proctor as well as a test candidate; however, someone with the Teacher role can only set someone up to be a test candidate. Organization Administrator Organization Member Proctor Teacher Test Candidate Depending on which role you hold, when you log into the Web site, these will be added to a list where you can select the appropriate role: 2011 CCI Learning Solutions Inc. P a g e 7

Becoming a Test Candidate You must register on Certiport s site before you can take a Microsoft Office Specialist or Microsoft Technology Associate exam. 1. Navigate to and then click Register. 2. Enter the fields as shown on the screen and then click Next. 3. Fill in the fields as marked (those with * are mandatory) and then click Next. 8 P a g e 2011 CCI Learning Solutions Inc.

Becoming a Proctor A Proctor is: Responsible for ensuring the integrity and credibility of Microsoft s certification exams Adheres to rules and policies to ensure a fair and secure testing environment Ensures adequate equipment for each test candidate Ensures the latest iqsystem software is installed and working To set up an individual requesting Proctor status: 1. The individual needs to log into the Certiport Web site and select Proctor as the role. If the person who registered as a test candidate may also become a proctor in future, at the last screen welcoming them to the Certiport site, you can select Register to become a proctor and you will go through the same process as follows. 2. Click View Proctor Agreement to view and read the agreement before proceeding. 10 P a g e 2011 CCI Learning Solutions Inc.

3. After reading the agreement, click Accept at the top. 4. Click Next to continue. 5. Click Finish. This role is perfect for someone who wants to be able to view the information but may not need to do anything other than launch an exam for a Test Candidate. An example would be a Director who is not involved in the training but wants to see the number of candidates and success rate. Being an Organization Administrator The Organization Administrator has full rights and access to all features, in a similar manner to a network administrator. They can control and organize how the exams are distributed as well as ensure the database of information for your organization maintains its integrity. This portion of is called the Dashboard. (See Using the Dashboard) You, as the client, determine who will be the Administrator. In most cases you may assign only one person to this role but there may be two or more people you may want to include in this list. Once you determine who should handle this role, please send the name to your CCI Account Manager or Client Care so we set the roles up just before or after the webinar training CCI Learning Solutions Inc.
