4 Introduction INDS is excited to introduce a new database delivery tool: INDS Data Manager for Windows (IDM). This database delivery tool is a significant improvement over the current system as it optimizes the downloading and programming of INDS services. IDM offers INDS subscribers a number of benefits over receiving a physical CD and / or downloading data from the INDS website. This is a beta software release, meaning the application is in active development. We believe the application is ready for real world testing, and we like to get your feedback. Please note that the current method of data delivery for each customer will remain unchanged throughout the beta test program. If you have any questions please contact our account services group listed below. INDS Data Manager (DM) Release Notes describes the general features, functionality, and known limitations of the INDS Data Manager beta version. Please refer to the INDS Quick Start Guide for details on the system requirements, installation instructions, supported features and functionality, and general operating instructions. Intended Audience The INDS DM Release Notes is for the following audiences: Customers who would like to switch from using CDs for data updates Support specialists Individuals who install, integrate, or service INDS DM Back office personnel who manage data updates Product Support Within the U.S.: , option 1 International: , option 1 Eastern Hemisphere: , option 1 AeroTech@epicinds.com Release Summary INDS Data Manager Version 3.2 is a beta release that provides the fundamental functionality to download and program INDS services on the Windows platform. Compatibility, installation and operating instructions can be found in the Quick Start Guide. ~ 4 ~

5 Release Identification Information The following table describes this release. Table 1. Release Information Product Current Version INDS Data Manager 3.2 Software Requirements INDS Data Manager is a web-based application and can be downloaded from the following location Windows XP is the minimum operating system supported by INDS DM. Basic Features Quick and convenient way to manage databases using the Cloud to rapidly download databases More capability than INDS website allowing to pause and resume downloads Capability to reduce charts file size without removing content increasing database memory capacity Customize charts database coverage by creating a sub-set region where you frequently travel Reduce the number of charts in your database by filtering on runway size Instant access to charts serial number so you don t have to request temporary access codes Search and organization features to manage aircraft fleet New Features in Beta 2 Program directly to CD. Note: Programming to DVD is not supported. Proxy host settings are now saved. List view of services is held after screen refresh. Directory pick dialog has been improved. Move / remove aircraft in smart folders. Miscellaneous user interface changes and enhancements Quick Link to Flight Info on the INDS website works and contains all the Read Me files previously delivered on CD. Future Features Database expansion to include full suite of Epic, Apex and Elite aircraft configurations. Automatically detect and download available service updates when online. ~ 5 ~

6 Known Limitations in This Release This section identifies and describes any known limitations associated with this beta release of INDS DM. CD drives are not recognized in Windows XP unless the hotfix is applied - When programming to the CD drive, the CD label format does not yet match that of the INDS-colored CDs. CD discs can be ejected during the CD writing operations. Feedback messages are confusing when programming to an empty CD drive or when a DVD is in the drive. When programming to the hard drive destination directory, any prior data that is in the directory will not be erased. Work around: Erase the contents of the destination directory manually prior to programming. Download location dialog does not support creating a folder for data download. The folder must already exist. Please do not submit comments to the Google Group for the known issues above. These issues have already been recorded and will be addressed in an upcoming release. ~ 6 ~
