4 Introduction INDS Data Manager Release Notes describes general features, operating requirements, updates, and known limitations for INDS Data Manager (IDM) for Windows. Please refer to the INDS Quick Start Guide for details on supported features and functionality. Intended Audience The intended audiences for are pilots and support specialists who currently use or support IDM. Product Support Within the U.S.: , Option 1 International: , Option 1 Eastern Hemisphere: , Option 1 AccountServices@epicinds.com Release Summary IDM version 3.4 introduces the Delta Data Loading for charts feature on the Windows platform. Release Identification Information This document supports IDM version Operating System Requirements The minimum operating system required for IDM version 3.4 is Windows 7. IDM is compatible with Windows 8 and 10. See the IDM help file for additional system requirements. Updating from IDM version 3.3 to 3.4 If IDM version is currently installed on your computer, you will receive an in-app update. There is no need to uninstall the application. We encourage you to update to the new version as soon as possible to take advantage of new functionality and bug fixes. You have the option to complete the update at another time. The update can be accessed from the IDM menu in the upper left corner of the application. Select IDM Update from the list of dropdown options. Copyright 2016 Jeppesen. All rights reserved. Page 4

Basic Features Quick and convenient way to manage databases using the Cloud to rapidly download databases Easy to use drag and drop interface More capability than INDS website allowing pause and resume of downloads Capability to reduce charts file size without removing content when compared to the distributed DVD format Customize charts database coverage by creating a subset region where you frequently travel Reduce the number of charts in your database by filtering on runway length Instant access to charts serial number so you don t have to request temporary access codes Search and organization features to manage aircraft fleet Program directly to CD/DVD Program to the hard drive for use with Data Loading Software Network proxies are supported Installation Instructions Build is available for download at the following link: Download the application and save it to your computer. Execute the MSI file and follow the installation instructions. Read Me files currently located on the INDS discs are available on the INDS website. What's New In addition to being compatible with Windows 10, the latest release of IDM introduces the following new features and enhancements: Delta Data Loading (DDL) for charts Delta Data Loading (DDL) for Charts IDM has integrated Honeywell s Delta Data Loading (DDL) specification to provide customers the ability to upload to the avionics only the charts that have changed from the previous cycle. When programming your DDL charts, IDM will create two folders TerminalCharts and TerminalChartsDDL. Copyright 2016 Jeppesen. All rights reserved. Page 5
6 When reading the DLS screen, it is important to note if the aircraft is capable of reading the DDL charts. If the aircraft is not capable of reading DDL charts, the following text will be displayed. This is the header read from the jeppall._dr in the TerminalCharts directory. If the aircraft is capable of reading DDL charts, the following text will be displayed. This is the header read from the charts_ddl._dr in the TerminalChartsDDL directory. Copyright 2016 Jeppesen.
