2 ISS Sync Program Overview ISS Sync Program Overview The ISS sync program is a small Visual Foxpro application that pulls your active client, employee and cost center lists (only the code, description and client/employee type is pulled) and sends them to the Solana automated forms processing server so that our verification process can compare the information on the completed forms with your latest lists to improve data accuracy. It also syncs information so you can use pre filled forms. The ISS sync program needs to be: Installed on a computer with ISS 3 installed. Installed on a computer that is on when the sync runs. Installed on a computer where it can be scheduled (using Scheduled Tasks) to run (typically at night). Installing the ISS Sync Program To install the ISS sync program: 1. Solana will send you an e mail message with the ISS sync program (imaging.exe) file for your agency attached to it. 2. Copy the imaging.exe file to your ISS3 shared drive. Typically the ISS3 shared location is called ISS Windows. Note The name of the file may have your agency code as a prefix. For example, ifsimaging.exe. Throughout this document, it will be referred to as imaging.exe. If you do not know where your ISS shared drive is, you can find the share location by pointing to Programs in the Start menu and then pointing to Integrated Software Series and clicking Setup Manager. To configure the ISS sync program: 1. Make a shortcut of imaging.exe in the shared ISS3 shared drive to the user s desktop. a. Right click the imaging.exe icon and click Create Shortcut. b. Drag the shortcut icon created from the ISS3 shared window to the user s desktop. 3

In the Target box, place your cursor at the end of the path and enter a space followed by the name of your database (in this example, the database name is Demo1).If you have spaces in your path, you must put quotes around the entire path. For example, M:\ISS Windows\imaging.exe Demo1 4. Click OK. Important: Enter the name of your database here. If you have spaces in your path, you must put quotes around the entire path. For example, M:\ISS Windows\imaging.exe Demo1 If you do not know the name of your database, to find it: a. Log into the ISS software under the Administration group and ISS_Master database. b. On the Module menu, point to System Manager and click Databases. 4

Note ISS3 must also be installed on the user s computer. To run the ISS sync program: 1. Double click the imaging.exe shortcut icon. 2. Click Sync Lists. 5

3. Click OK to exit the confirmation window. 4. If new automated forms processing forms are needed, submit a support request to ask for an updated form. 5.

Note ISS3 must be installed on the computer running the scheduled task and the computer must be powered on when the task is scheduled to run.

Click Exit to close the Data Sync Program. You will need to set up a Scheduled Task so that your data will sync each night with Solana. Note ISS3 must be installed on the computer running the scheduled task and the computer must be powered on when the task is scheduled to run. Typically, the task will be scheduled on your server. To schedule the ISS sync program to run nightly: 1. From the Start menu on your computer, click Control Panel. 2. Double click Scheduled Tasks. 6

12 15. Next, test the task to make sure it runs properly by right clicking the scheduled task icon and clicking Run. You will see a blank window open briefly and then close. The task has been scheduled successfully. 12
