1 CVR Release Notes Page 1 of 5 CVR Software Release Notes OREVR Version 2.9A Introduction CVR is pleased to announce Oregon Electronic Vehicle Registration (OREVR) Software Release 2.9A. This release includes new features to the OREVR product as described in this document. Please note that a shortlist of significant features is available under the Release Scope Overview section. Required Installation Date The table below describes the main release and (if applicable) consecutive minor releases available as part of Oregon Electronic Vehicle Registration (OREVR) Software Release 2.9A, along with their deployment requirements, date of availability and required installation dates. The specifics for each release are detailed starting at the next section. RELEASE SCOPE OVERVIEW The primary features and functions available in this release are: Keep Kids Safe Passenger plate for Transfer and Renewal transactions only ODVA Veteran option that will update the Customer Information DMV Screens Blocking Duplicate VINs from PEND Transactions Surcharge Fee Issues for Specialty Plates Release Checklist Items: Current Dcomm/CVRUpdater Current Polk/Zip B. SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS OREVR 2.9A requires a computer with the following minimum hardware configuration: 1024x768 or higher resolution video card and monitor A high-speed internet connection (DSL, Cable, T1, etc.) Keyboard and mouse Any Laser Printer available. A CD ROM drive for installations and updates. One of the following operating systems with the recommended hardware configuration for the OS: Windows XP Professional 800 MHz or faster processor 512 MB system memory 1.5GB available hard disk space Windows Vista Business and Windows 7 Pro (32-bit) 1 GB system memory 16 GB available hard disk space Windows Vista Business and Windows 7 Pro (64-bit) 2 GB of system memory 20 GB available hard disk space Windows 8.0 Pro (64-bit) 2 GB of system memory 20 GB available hard disk space Note: 250 MB of free hard disk space should be available for the EVR application and database files for a typical installation.

3 CVR Release Notes Page 3 of 5 C. INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS New Installation This application can be used as a New Install or as an upgrade from the previous version of OREVR. During the installation process, click Next to accept the default setup values displayed for each of the prompts. Note: Please save and close all applications and documents. You MUST restart your PC for updates to occur on this release. Failure to do this will result in files not updating for this release. Upgrade Installation Clients must be on version 2.7A or 2.8A to upgrade to 2.9A D. ENHANCEMENTS 1. Keep Kids Safe Plate Type Add The state added a new passenger plate type that will allow dealers to transfer and/or renew the Keep Kids Safe license plate. Users will only be able to process the Keep Plates Safe plate type for the following transaction types: Plate Transfer Plate Transfer/Renewal Title Transfer Title Transfer/Renewal Users will not be able to order this plate type. The Keep Kids Safe plate type is allowable for Passenger vehicles only. Plate Screen

4 CVR Release Notes Page 4 of 5 2. ODVA Veteran Flag The state has added a new field to the Customer Information System (CIS) to allow users to indicate if the customer is a Veteran. Owner Screen Selecting Yes will set the Veteran flag on the OR DMV s CIS entry screens for the customer. Selecting No will remove the existing Veteran flag form the CIS entry screens for the customer. When the ODVA field is left blank (empty), the customer s record will retain its current state. The Primary Owner, Co-Owner or BOTH can be indicated on the OR DMV CIS entry fields as Veterans. The Form 226 Application for Title and Registration has been modified to print/display the customer s name indicated as a Veteran. The print area on the Form 226 is not large enough to contain both names, and only the Primary Owner s name will print; however, both owners are required to sign the form. Form 226

5 CVR Release Notes Page 5 of 5 3. Duplicate VINs The OREVR application had a defect that allows for duplicate VINs to be processed on the same day. If the VIN (SAMPLEVIN ) is processed in the morning, the same VIN can be processed again and the system will allow both independent transactions to PEND. Changes have been made to disallow this from happening. The CVR Host will return the following error response: 0605F VIN SAMPLEVIN Alloc Assigned to Prior Control Number 0605F This Vehicle Was Assigned To A Previous Transaction 4. Specialty Plate Fee Issue for Transfer Plates The OREVR application had a defect regarding Surcharge Fees on specialty plates. Users were getting error messages similar to this: 9999F 22/COMPUTER GENERATED RPL/STICKER FEES WERE This issue has been corrected on specialty plates for Surcharge assessed per plate per period of registration on renewals and new registrations. 5. Polk/Zip Update This release includes the latest RL Polk VIN data for 2013 and 2014 vehicles. These files translate the 17- character VIN into Vehicle Year, Make, and Body information on the Vehicle page. 6. Dcomm/CVRUpdater This release includes the latest update to the communication library and Flexnet update so that the transmission and upgrade utilities are free of known issues and up-to-date.
