1 My project won't save to Remote storage... what should I do? Date : September 30, 2016 Networking and permission issues may prevent your project from saving back to remote storage. Should you encounter this problem, here are the steps to follow. Failed saves may display a detailed networking message or simply show a failure to save. 1 / 14

3 To save locally, click on the Menu icon, choose File > Save As... and then point to your Desktop or the My Projects folder. Click on the SAVE button in the bottom right corner. 3 / 14

5 Relaunch YearbookFusion Close your project, and shut YearbookFusion down, then relaunch the software. This will allow it to reconnect to your local network, in case it went down during your previous session. Internet outages that occur during an active YearbookFusion session will result in a failure to save your opened project, so relaunching the software would give it the opportunity to reconnect to the internet. If your network is down, you will most likely have issues relaunching or a connectivity error will appear. If connectivity errors appear when none was present a few minutes previously, speak to your local IT person to ensure that your local network is up and running, or try launching your web browser, to see if you are able to navigate to a website. On rare occasions, the LumaPix servers may go "down" temporarily. If this is the case we will post a message on within minutes of detecting the outage, or a message will appear in the software directly. Check for networking permissions errors If YearbookFusion relaunches with no issue, open a random page from your book ladder, or add a new blank page to your ladder (temporarily) and open it. Drop an image or make a small edit to the page, then save the project. 6 requirements/ This page lists the permissions and networking requirements for using YearbookFusion. If these requirements are not met, your YearbookFusion installation will not be able to "talk" to the LumaPix servers to get all the content it needs to open projects and save properly. No errors? Check your project backup. If the test file closes correctly, most likely your computer lost its internet connection while you had your project open, and as a result, it wasn't able to resave the project back up to the remote storage server. You can try to resave the project from its local backup if this is the case. First, reopen the project from your local drive. Navigate to the Menu, then File, and Open Recent to see your last saved local file. 6 / 14

7 To ensure that the project was properly downloaded, run a "missing images" check on it. Click on the Menu icon, choose Tools > Locate Missing Images... 7 / 14

8 When the Image locator appears, click on the first button at the top left: FIND MISSING. This may trigger a download from the server if the project was missing components that were located on the server. If the Image locator does not find any problems, X out this window in the top right corner. Your project should be ready to save back to remote storage. If the Image locator does find problems, it will show the page(s) where it found missing content. Choose SELECT ALL in the top right corner to see the missing content. You will then see tiny thumbnails versions of photos it cannot find, or a font reference, or perhaps some other item. Each missing item will be accompanied by a "twin" image that is blank. 8 / 14

9 If you only see a missing photo or two that you have just recently dropped, and have those readily available to redrop on your local drive, just X out of the Image Locator (top right corner) and redrop the images. You can run the Image locator tool again to make sure the file is repaired. If you are missing many photos, fonts and other items that were on your remote storage project when you first launched it, and you have made extensive edits to it since it was last saved, please contact the LumaPix Support team under the Help & Support option of the software. We will be able to rewire your project with you. Resave the project to remote storage If the project is repaired, save it back to Remote Storage. 9 / 14

10 From the Menu Icon, choose File > Save As and point to your Remote Storage folder. Rename the file slightly (eg. add a "repaired" or "2" at the end of it), since you will not be able to overwrite the original file on Remote Storage. Hit Save. The project should go back to remote storage. 10 / 14

11 Replace the original project on your ladder with the resaved project Go to My Book and find the original version of the project on your ladder. Hover over it, and Remove it from your ladder. 11 / 14

12 Click on Add Pages at the top of this window, choosing My Sections. Find your resaved project, and add it back to the ladder. Your project is now repaired. 12 / 14
