3 1. First Steps 1.1 Download PC SW and Manuals Manuals are available on installation CD or on ComAp website. To access software and manuals on ComAp website, please, register in ComAp club 1.2 Install the PC software Install the PC software in your PC. The latest software version is available on ComAp website - download it if it doesn't match with the version in the controller. 1.3 Power up the controller Power up the controller with 8-36 V DC 1.4 Check the Firmware Version in the Controller The latest software version is available on ComAp website - download it if it doesn't match with the version in the controller. To check the firmware version in the controller: 1. Power up the controller. 2. Hold down Enter and press Escape on the controller. In the middle of the display you can see the controller INFO screen for 10 seconds. 1.5 Connect to the Controller To connect to the controller: 1. Ensure you have a DC Power Supply to the controller ( 8 36 VDC). 2. Connect the controller with your PC via RS232 communication cable either directly or if you do not have the D-SUB9 serial port on your PC, use the USB-RS232 converter and connect it to the USB port on your PC. 3. Turn on the controller. 4. Turn on your PC. 5. Double click the LiteEdit or DriveMonitor icon on your desktop. 6. Click Connection Open connection or click the first icon under the main menu The Open connection window appears. 7. Choose the communication port and click Open connection. Note: COM1 is the default setting. You may need to select a different COM port of your computer. The connection to your controller is being established and the DDE server communication tool is automatically launched. At the bottom of the window a yellow bar appears denoting the connection is preparing and upon a full connection the bar turns green. You can get further information about InteliMonitor in the following chapter. 1.6 Download a New Firmware Version to the Controller InteliDrive-DCU, InteliDrive-Mobile a) Download the new firmware version from b) Open DriveConfig. 4 c) Click Options Import firmware The message appears: d) Make sure no archive is open and click Yes. The new window appears. e) Open the location with the firmware, see the picture above. f) Choose the version of the firmware and click Open. The Import firmware appears: g) Click Import. h) If it is a case, to confirm the message Overwrite file, click Yes to All. ID Lite-1.6 Getting started, ComAp September

5 i) Click File DCU Programming j) Choose the version of the firmware you want to download to the controller and click OK. The message appears: k) Click OK InteliDrive - Lite 1. Go to OPTIONS -> IMPORT FIRMWARE menu to import new firmware (obtained from , ComAp web site etc.) to the LiteEdit. 2. "Import firmware" window appears. Click on icon and select the IWE file you want import. 3. You will see the contents of the IWE file in the lower part of the window. 4. Press "Import" button to import the firmware to the LiteEdit. 1.7 Open Controller Default Configuration/Archive File InteliDrive-DCU, InteliDrive-Mobile In DriveConfig go to File and choose Open selection InteliDrive Lite In LiteEdit go Open offline and choose selected Controller Default Configuration/Archive File 1.8 Modification of Default Configuration/Archive File To proceed refer to Reference Guide for appropriate application: Configure the inputs' and outputs' functions. Use DriveMonitor / LiteEdit to adjust controller setpoints. Configure password protection levels, sensor characteristics, language options etc. 1.9 Write the Archive to Controller InteliDrive-DCU, InteliDrive-Mobile In DriveConfig go to File and choose Write to Controller -Opened archive is loaded to controller. The consistency check runs automatically before archive is loaded InteliDrive-Lite In LiteEdit go Controller Configuration Select (or Modify) and then click Write to controller button. 6 2. Manuals To download manuals according to the specific line of controllers: 1. Open in your browser. To access manuals on ComAp website, please, register in ComAp club 2. Types of Documents on Web page All the documents are intended for everybody who is concerned with the installation, operation and maintenance of a engine application. o o o o o Data Sheets describe basic technical specification and purpose of various types of controllers. Getting Started Guide will help you to answer some basic questions that typically occur during the first contact with engine controller. User guide is Installation, Application and Reference guide in one book. Communication Guides describe communication interface among controller(s) and superior system. From this manual you can get information on all available types of communication. ComAp Electronic Engines Support describes all supported ECU, wiring and functionality. 8 3. Installation Package How to Download the Installation or Import Package from the ComAp Website? To download the installation package from the ComAp Website: 1. Open in your browser. 2. For ID-Lite click Products Engine controllers InteliDrive-Lite Support Software. For ID-DCU click Products Engine controllers ID-DCU-xxx Support Software. 3. For ID-Mobile click Products Off-road machinery controllers InteliDrive-Mobile Support Software. 4. The list of all related software packages appears. 5. Choose the installation or import package of the related product. 6. Log-in and click the file for download. 7. Save the file. 10 4. PC Tools What Is DriveMonitor? DriveMonitor is intended for on-line monitoring of ComAp InteliDrive DCU and InteliDrive Mobile controller values. It enables to: Open direct, modem or internet connection to the controller Open an archive off-line Monitor engine controller View controller values Operate the controller via user friendly GUI View alarm list and history records Change setpoints Save archive files Open DriveConfig PC configuration tool The detailed information on how to work with DriveMonitor you can find in the DriveMonitor Reference Guide. To download the DriveMonitor Reference Guide and/or its new features: 1. Open in your browser. 2. Click Products PC Tools Monitoring SW DriveMonitor - Support. Click Products PC Tools Configuration and Monitoring SW LiteEdit - Support. The list of related documents appears. 3. Click the file you want to download. 4. Log in if necessary and click the file you want to download again. 5. Save the file. What Is DriveConfig? DriveConfig is intended for off-line configuration of ComAp InteliDrive DCU and InteliDrive Mobile controllers. Any configuration modifications have to be subsequently downloaded to the controller or saved to an archive file. Online changes and monitoring has to be done from DriveMonitor. Pay attention to DriveConfig Overwrite setpoints option. DriveConfig enables to: select which functions and protections will be connected to binary/analog inputs and outputs of the controller select which extension modules will be connected to the controller configure the internal PLC blocks providing free usable functions assign protection levels to setpoints and commands To open DriveConfig from DriveMonitor click Tools DriveConfig. 11 2. Click Products PC Tools Configuration SW DriveConfig Support Manuals. The list of documents related to DriveConfig appears. 3. Click the file you want to download. 4. Log in if necessary and click the file you want to download again. 5. Save the file. What is LiteEdit? LiteEdit is intended for on-line monitoring and configuration of ComAp ID-Lite controller. LiteEdit supports InteliDrive Lite and is Windows 2000 / XP / Vista based software which provides following functions: Direct, off-line, modem or internet communication with the controller Controller configuration Controller firmware upgrade Read / write / adjust setpoints Read measured values Display controller history Export data into a XLS file ID Lite-1.6 Getting started, ComAp September

13 6. ComAp Club Why and How to Register and Become a Member of the ComAp Club? You can become a member of the ComAp club and enjoy a range of exclusive benefits such as up to date information on new products and full access to materials otherwise restricted such as product manuals and software updates. To register and become a member of the ComAp club: 1. Open in your browser. The ComAp homepage appears: 2. Click Register, see below. 3. After the user registration form appears, fill in the form and click REGISTER. Your user name and password will be sent to your address. 4. Open this mail and click the confirmation link. 5. 14 How to Log in to the ComAp Club? To log in to the ComAp Club: 1. Open in your browser. 2. Fill in the fields USER NAME and PASSWORD. 3. Click ENTER.How to Get a Forgotten Password to the ComAp Club? To get your forgotten password to the ComAp club: 1. Do one of the following: Contact us on comap.team@comap.cz. or open in your browser. 2. Click Log in. The ComAp members club Login page appears. 3. Click at the appropriate link. 4.
