1 IvAp for Prepar3D Version 4.x How to install IvAp in Prepar3Dv4.x Version 7 Revised version-7 including installation images and a BETA MTL version. You need the following files: 1. File #1: FSUIPC5.dll (Download FSUIPC5.x from this site non-licensed works ) 2. File #2: SimConnect.msi {C67A3A1B-F52B-42CC-85E A09312} >> this file is in your P3Dv4 folder??:\p3d4\redist\interface\fsx-sp2- XPACK\retail\lib\ 3. File #3:: the usual file from IVAO >> ivap-v2.0.2-b2773.exe 4. Assuming you created a specific disk and/or an installation folder for your Prepar3D version 4... say F:/P3D4/ where F: is called the root of your INSTALLATION DISK (thus drive F:) and where /P3D4/: is called the root of your INSTALLATION FOLDER (thus folder /P3D4/). Install File #1: check before installation if a previous installation of version FSUIPC5.x is already present in the... /Modules folder, then you can skip this step, else install File #1 (FSUIPC5 - non-licensed works). 8. Install File #2: SimConnect.msi (right mouse on the filename and install as administrator). 9. Then: Create a copy of the file Prepar3D.exe (it's in the root of your P3D4 installation folder) Then rename this copy into fsx.exe and leave it in the root of your P3D4 installation folder. 10. Install File #3: Right mouse clicks the file ivap-v2.0.2-b2773.exe and install as usual and (of course) as administrator in the root of your P3D4 installation _disk. And again: Do not install IvAp in disk\p3d4\ nor in \Program Files (x 86)... FS Eindhoven KLM juli

4 12. Now watch: you must use the selected the upper line Flight Simulator X 13. Installed in: press Browse and find the folder where you created before a copy of prepar3d.exe and renamed that as fsx.exe Do not use the lower possibility Prepar3D: and Press Next >. 14. You now get the correct path to install: [The reason is that there is NO installer for P3D, so we will fake the presence of a fsx.exe] Press Next >. 15. Ignore the Setup warning and press OK. 5 16. By default the MTL installer will run don t worry Say Yes and press Next >. 17. Select as indicated, otherwise you will see this later press Next >. 18.Say No to install FSUIPC, because you did already install FSUIPC5; press Next >. FS Eindhoven KLM juli

6 19. Review the installation path, if oke, don t change, press Next >. This folder is created by the installation, so do not create this folder manually; just install in the root of your P3D4 installation disk 20. You get a shortcut forget it press Next >. 21 If you need to install TeamSpeak2, check the box then press Next > else press Next >. FS Eindhoven KLM juli

7 22. Ready to install the version you read here represents the properties of the previous copy of prepar3d.exe and which you renamed into fsx.exe; press Install. If the installation path is not correct, press Back and review the settings. 23. Installing 24. Press Next >. Almost ready FS Eindhoven KLM juli

8 Only for P3D version Complete the MTL process by mandatory selecting FULL INSTALL (recommended); you will get models (in 366 folders) to download let it go and don t interrupt. You will get a folder \IVAO_MTL in \Simobjects\ If you have a current installation of IVAO_MTL? Rename the current IVAO_MTL folder Go to mtl.exe and run as administrator. (The mtl.exe is in the root of your current IvAp v2 folder) Done! BETA IVAO_MTL After the IVAO_MTL download is completed: Check the availability of this folder in \Simobjects\IVAO_MTL\ In the meantime download this file from Unzip the file. You will create D:\Downloads\MTLTest-Full-0.1\IVAO_MTL\; this additional IVAO_MTL folder contains 368 folders. When the installation process of IvAp v2 is completed, then overwrite your IVAO_MTL (in \Simobjects\IVAO_MTL\) with D:\Downloads\MTLTest-Full- 0.1\IVAO_MTL\ Say YES to overwrite and DONE! :: Any complaints? 9 ANY CHANGE IN THE IVAO_MTL REQUIRES A REINDEX IN THE IvAp v2 CONFIGURATION Open the file ivap_config.exe in F:\IvAp v2 Select Online Traffic and press the button Reindex MTL FS Eindhoven KLM juli

10 IvAp Configuration Since the transponder codes can only be set in standby position, don't forget to check in IvAp v2 - Configuration Enable IvAp <-> FSUIPC SDK in the section 3rd Party Tools. See picture >>>. Adding the IVAO_MTL entry in simobjects.cfg Open the file simobjects.cfg in C:\ProgramData\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v4\ Add this text: [Entry.10] <<<< or any subsequent number Title=IVAO MTL Path=SimObjects\IVAO_MTL <<< or any other path you have chosen Required=False Active=True Save the file and check the presence of the folder name in... \SimObjects\ Do not make any additions or changes to the dll.xml since IvAp will be started in another way as follows: NOW START THE SIM Manual Starting IvAp: Press your Windows key and go to the folder IVAO\ Select the icon IvAp v2 - External More and Run as administrator. 11 Manual Starting IvAp 2nd (better) option: Right mouse clicks the icon IvAp v2 - External and Add to Start, Then Open file location; select properties and check in the compatibility tab: Run as administrator. After making CONNection and submitting your flight plan (ACARS-SEND FLIGHTPLAN) you will be visible in Webeye. Your flight results will be registered in the IVAO database. If you want IvAp to be started by the sim Add the following statement into the exe.xml. This exe.xml file resides in: C:\Users\yourname\AppData\Roaming\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v4\ Open the exe.xml with Notepad++ and add to the end of the file, JUST BEFORE </SimBase.Document> these 6 lines: <Launch.Addon> <Name>IvAp for P3D4</Name> <Disabled>False</Disabled> <Path>F:\IvAp v2\ivap_dllhost.exe</path> <CommandLine>ivap_fsx.dll</CommandLine> </Launch.Addon> Adapt your path (not the filename) of your IvAp v2 installation as in <Path>F:\IvAp v2\ivap_dllhost.exe</path> Do not change the <CommandLine> statement Save the file and then run the sim. You will find IvAp as usual in your Add-ons menu together with FSUIPC a.s.o. FS Eindhoven KLM juli

12 User Issues Transponder codes reset to 1200: the transponder codes can only be set in standby position Weather: strange effects? Disable the weather engine in the IvAp Configuration panel, section Weather. MTL: Any complaints? Refer to this webpage: Remember: BETA IVAO_MTL covers 8 GB+ data. If you don t want to load this permanently when the sim is starting, cut the IVAO_MTL folder out of \Simobjects\ and paste it into the root of your P3D installation disk.
