1 How to use the new LGH CME system LG Health s CME office has partnered with Electronic Education Documentation System or to enhance our CME program. There are four easy ways to register for live and recorded events, log your attendance, upload CMEs you received elsewhere, download certificates and much more (see following pages for cheat sheets on each option). Option # 1: LGH Website for computer 1. Go to 2. Click on Register for Live Events or View Enduring Events with Credit if you want to take a class 3. Log in with your LGH User ID (the same ID you use for Epic, don t use the name/ option) and follow the steps to register for your event. Any questions? 2 Option # 1: LGH Website (continued) 1. Go to 2. To log your attendance or your get your certificate and transcript, click on LGH Med Staff & Employees: Sign in Here for Credit and Certificate 3. Log in with your LGH network User ID and password 4. Click Sign In to an Event enter the activity code the CME presenter gave you. (You must sign in within 24 hours of event to get credit)

3 Option #1 LGH Website (continued) Once you log in to your eeds account via the LGH CME website you can also: Download a single certificate or transcript (available to LGH Med Staff providers only, all others limited to certificates) Upload credits you have received from other organizations View course materials View CME calendar of upcoming events

4 Option # 2: Text your attendance via your cell phone 1. Add a new contact for CME attendance (828) Send a text message with the activity code your presenter gave you to (828) If your phone number is recognized by the system, you ll receive a confirmation text message 4. Otherwise, the system will ask you for some basic information to create an account in eeds (for instance, the LGH zip code 17604) 5. Note: You must sign in within 24 hours of event to get credit

5 Option # 3: Download Free Android App 1. Go to the Google Play Store 2. Search for eeds 3. Choose the eeds mobile App 4. Tap the Install button

6 Option # 3 Android instructions (continued) You ll only need to log in to the Android App once Choose the first option Log in with your User ID (also called eeds PIN). This is the log in that you use for Epic. (Disregard the mobile number and address options). If your User ID is found, you ll be asked to select your last name. Otherwise, you ll need to create an account. If there are events to sign in to today, there will be a Sign-In to a CME Event button Enter the activity code provided by the CME speaker. Review the activity information and click Sign-In (must be within 24 hours of event to get credit)

7 Option # 4: Download Free iphone App 1. Tap the App Store on your iphone 2. Tap the Search icon at the bottom of your screen 3. Search for eeds 4. Choose the eeds mobile App 5. Download the App (you ll need your itunes password)

If your User ID is found, you ll be asked to select your last name. 10 FAQs Q: What is eeds? A: eeds (Electronic Education Documentation System) is an online CME credit tracking company. You may recognize eeds (rhymes with needs ) as it is the same organization used by the Pennsylvania chapter of the American Academy of Family Physicians, Crozer-Keystone, Hershey Medical Center, UC Davis School of Medicine and Tufts University School of Medicine, just to name a few. Q: Why is the eeds system better than the old paper system? A: This system is better because features are available faster, respecting providers valuable time. Signing in online with a computer or app or by texting ensures your attendance is tracked accurately (not having to interpret signatures). Certificates are available immediately as are online evaluations and course materials. Q: How can I be sure the online system is accurately tracking my attendance? A: For a limited time we will be collecting paper sign-ins just to ensure we are capturing your attendance accurately online. You can also check your attendance by going to your account and looking at your transcript. Q: Will my old CME credits still be available under the new system? A: Yes we have already moved your credits over to the new system so you will be able access all your records. There is no loss of data from the old to the new system. Q: Isn t it possible to "game" the system by giving others the secret activity code? A: Yes, but so is every other sign in method (including paper sign in). In the end it is all based on the honor system, but either way we are providing "record of attendance" by the fact that unless you cheat you have to be in the room to sign in. Q: Why is the eeds app asking to access my photos? A: This is because the app allows you to take a picture (or upload a previously taken picture) of a certificate when you enter a self-declared activity. You can always say no, but it sure is handy to have all your credits and certificates logged in one place. Q: Is my information secure in the eeds app? A: There is actually very little data stored on the app. Most of the information is sent to the eeds server which resides in a compliant data center. Furthermore, SSNs or other sensitive information is not stored in the eeds system. Q: What if the system goes down? How can I log my attendance and access my CMEs? A: The eeds system is located on a secure server with multiple redundancies and backups so there is rarely downtime. That means your availability to CME information in eeds is far greater than if it were only accessible from the LGH CME office during office hours. Your CME information in eeds is open online 24/7.
