5 HARTING MICA Firmware 20 2 New features 21 Supprt fr new MICA hardware Supprt fr MICA 2 and ther new MICA with dual cre CPUs Supprt fr MICA Wireless and ther MICA with built-in GSM, LTE, GPRS, WiFi cnnectivity 22 Extended RPC functinality The MICA RPC functinality has been extended and unified RPC calls are dcumented at and respectively 23 New installer and universal package frmat The Install functinality f the MICA nw handles installatin and upgrades f cntainers and firmware The MICA script frmat has been extended t supprt installatin f multiple packages and dcumentatin in a single archive 24 Supprt fr multiple Ethernet interfaces Users can set up additinal netwrk interfaces n a HARTING MICA and cnfigure varius cntainer types as gateway cntainers t let applicatins use these additinal netwrk interfaces as default gateways When using a secnd netwrk interface and default gateway, the netwrk needs t be cnfigured inside the cntainer by the cntainer develper, r the develper needs t prvide user-facing functins fr the end custmer t perfrm this cnfiguratin Please review the applicatin nte in the dcumentatin sectin f 25 New Exprt and Merge functinality 26 Other new features Exprt nw saves the base file system and the verlay withut merging This means that exprted cntainers behave identically t duplicated cntainers and reset t the riginal state f the exprted cntainer n executing a cntainer reset Yu shuld use this functin t create backups f cntainers Use first Merge and then Exprt achieve the ld Exprt functinality f exprting a cntainer with merged base file system and verlay Yu shuld use this functinality t create cntainers fr distributin Redesign f the SSO Service The ld functinality has been deprecated and will be remved in a future versin after 20 Miscellaneus security and stability enhancements HARTING MICA Wireless User Guide 5

6 HARTING MICA Firmware 20 3 Ntes 31 MICA Wireless fallback mde If a MICA Wireless cannt cnnect t a wireless netwrk within ne minute after being switched frm access pint mde t statin mde, the MICA resets itself t access pint mde and IP address t allw a recvery This mechanism nly applies nce after changing t statin mde If yu d nt want the MICA t cnnect immediately after changing t client mde, turn it ff within ne minutes f making the switch 32 Secndary netwrk interfaces 33 MDNS addressing 34 RPC Gateway functinality fr secndary netwrk interfaces is nt supprted fr MICA Wireless in statin mde Gateway functinality fr secndary netwrk interfaces is nt supprted fr IPv6 Cntainers need t implement their wn mdns respnder t allw accessing them by name frm ther cntainers in Firmware 2 and higher Fr lder cntainers, it might be necessary t use IP addresses t access them If a cnnectin between tw cntainers stps wrking after the upgrade t Firmware 2, try replacing the mdns name with the IP address f the cntainer being accessed Firmware 2 cntains a majr redesign f the JSON RPC interface Deprecated RPC calls will be disabled in a future firmware versin after 20, s develpers shuld migrate their cntainers t the new RPC frmat within the next 6 mnths New JSON RPC calls are nly available via Websckets These are get_base, set_base, get_cntainer, set_cntainer, changepasswd, sign_in, get_clients and set_client If yu want t use Deprecated RPC via HTTP make sure t als use ld SSO authentificatin via get_auth_tken Keep in mind, that it is nt intended t use Deprecated RPC via websckets The fllwing RPC are nly reasnably available via websckets: update get_cntainer set_cntainer get_base set_base if yu want t use ld RPC API methds with websckets, pass auth tken as an empty string (d nt frget t sign_in() befre) Using RPC via HTTP requires t use deprecated SSO authenticatin via get_auth_tken() transfer_chunk is nly available via HTTP due t webscket perfrmance issues with uplading files transfer_chunk, reset_cert and sme ther calls are pssible withut authentificatin Old Busybx based Cntainer Web-GUI that use webscket SSO service (eg GPIO, Pythn Dem, Mbile) smetimes might nt cme up, restarting the cntainer reslves 6 HARTING IT Sftware Develpment
