1 Recmmended Minimum Requirements fr Cisc Meeting Applicatin Web RTC Use Fr the best experience the fllwing requirements and recmmendatins shuld be fllwed. Requirements: External USB web camera capable f at least 1280 x 720 reslutin r higher, Or Built in laptp web camera capable f at least 1280 x 720 reslutin r higher. External USB micrphne (usually part f an external USB camera), r built in laptp micrphne. Recmmended cnnectin speed: Wired cnnectin and bradband service recmmended (Wireless carriers and satellite service NOT recmmended) 768 kbps minimum must be maintained bth uplad and dwnlad 2Mbps recmmended Test yur Internet Speed by ging t: Recmmended cmputer specificatins: Windws 10 Highly Recmmended Mac OS (Ysemite) minimum Quad Cre 4 GB RAM Minimum Other Recmmendatins: Use the latest versin f the Chrme brwser (at least Versin r higher) Have NO ther apps r prgrams running while using CMA/Meeting Server upn cnnectin (if Skype, Ggle Hanguts, r ther applicatins that may be using yur web cam are running this will cause issues) It is highly recmmended that students use a headset with micrphne fr the best audi experience. Recmmendatins fr having the best experience: Use a headset instead f built-in speakers and micrphnes. This will imprve yur audi and help prevent eches at ther lcatins. Mute yur micrphne when yu are nt speaking. This prevents thers in the bradcast frm being distracted by backgrund nise at yur lcatin. Other internet cnnected devices/services can significantly decrease yur netwrk speed (e.g. Gaming Cnsles, ipads, Netflix, etc.). If yur netwrk speed is near the minimum required speed, ensure these devices/services are nt in use n yur netwrk t ensure a mre reliable netwrk cnnectin. IMPORTANT! It is highly recmmended that yu pre-test yur cnnectin and cmputer capabilities befre yur first scheduled event. Please cntact the UEN Operatins Center t cnduct an audi and vide cnnectin test by calling , ptin 1, then ptin 1 again. Please nte that using a desktp vide cnferencing applicatin is cnsidered a best effrt cnnectin. There are many variables in cnnecting dependent upn the individual s cmputer and netwrk they are using. There are many issues in cnnecting that technical supprt might nt be able t reslve fr yu.

2 Cisc Meeting Applicatin Web RTC cnnectin trubleshting tips and help guide Please nte: Chrme is the recmmended brwser t use fr jining using guest links. The fllwing sectins will prepare yu t cnnect as a guest t the UEN IVC System. 1. Cpy and paste the prvided guest link int the address field f a new tab (see fig. 1.5) and hit enter (r if Chrme is set as the default brwser, just click n the link), but be sure yu are in the Chrme brwser. Belw the title f the event enter yur full name in the NAME field and click the JOIN MEETING AS GUEST buttn. Fig If yu get a message in red indicating Culd nt jin meeting, please click n the Jin meeting as guest buttn again and it shuld get yu t the next step. 4. Yu shuld nw be at the page where yu will need t validate yur web camera, micrphne and speakers as well as allwing CMA t send yu ntificatins while cnnected t yur event/c-space. (cnt. next page)

3 IMPORTANT: Befre prceeding, ensure that a web camera and micrphne are cnnected t and enabled n yur cmputer. Please nte that yu must click ALLOW in the fllwing steps. If yu accidentally click BLOCK, yu will need t refer t the additinal trubleshting sectin belw labeled ISSUE 2: I am unable t select r validate my camera and micrphne. 5. A pp up windw will appear asking yu t Shw ntificatins, click the ALLOW buttn (see fig.1.7). Fig Next, yu will get a secnd pp up windw asking t use yur micrphne and camera. Click the ALLOW buttn in the secnd pp up windw t allw yur camera and micrphne t be enabled (see fig. 1.8) Fig. 1.8

4 7. Yu shuld nw see the screen belw (see fig. 1.9). Under the Use this cmputer tab, select yur desired Camera and Micrphne frm the drp dwn list. After ensuring yu can see yurself thrugh yur camera and yur micrphne meter is mving when yu speak CLICK the JOIN MEETING buttn t be cnnected t yur event. 5 ADDITIONAL TROUBLESHOOTING STEPS ISSUE 1: I m being asked t enter a meeting ID. - If at any pint during the jin prcess yu get a screen that is asking fr a Meeting ID (fig.1.10) please try the fllwing steps: a. Refer t yur riginal jin link that shuld lk smething like this: xlgug2a&id= b. The meeting ID is the string f numbers (usually nine numbers) fund at the end f the link as highlighted abve. c. Enter this string f numbers in the field in the windw that asks fr the Meeting ID as shwn belw (the number will be different fr different events). Leave the passcde field blank. d. Click Jin meeting. Fig ISSUE 2: I am unable t select r validate my camera and micrphne. 1. Ensure yu are using a web camera that is capable f 1280 x 720p reslutin. 2. Try resetting the brwser settings/cache and enabling allw/deny pp up prmpts fr ntificatins/camera/micrphne a. In Ggle Chrme, pen the "Clear Brwsing Data" menu by clicking n the three dts at the tp right, selecting "Mre Tls and "Clear Brwsing Data."

6 b. Select the "Advanced" tab and change the "Time range" t "All time." c. Check the bx next t "Cntent settings" then click "Clear Data." d. Open the CMA link fr yur event in Ggle Chrme. e. Type in yur name and select "Jin meeting as a guest." f. A pp up will appear asking yu t "Shw ntificatins." Click Allw. g. A secnd pp up will appear asking t use yur micrphne and camera. Click Allw. h. Yu shuld nw see the screen belw. Verify yur camera, micrphne, and speakers are wrking crrectly, and then click "Jin Meeting."

7 ISSUE 3: I m cnnected t the event but nt seeing any incming vide. 1. Refresh the page by pressing the page refresh buttn in Ggle Chrme. If vide still desn't shw, try refreshing the page again. If yu are still nt able t cnnect, call the IVC Operatins Center at pt 1, pt 1 again.
