1 Intuv 9000 GC Installatin Checklist Thank yu fr purchasing an Agilent Instrument slutin. This checklist is used by the installing engineer t ensure that the instrument and assciated systems are crrectly installed, upgraded and functining as designed in yur facility. This checklist will be cmpleted at the end f the service and prvided t yu as a recrd f the installatin. Custmer Infrmatin Custmers shuld prvide all necessary perating supplies upn request f the engineer. Service Engineer s Respnsibilities Only cmplete/printut pages that relate t the system being installed. Cmplete empty fields with the relevant infrmatin Cmplete the relevant checkbxes in the checklist using a X r tick mark in the checkbx. Cmplete Nt Applicable check bxes t indicate services nt delivered, as needed Cmplete the Service Review sectin tgether with the custmer. Additinal Instructin Ntes There are separate checklists similar t this ne fr each majr system cmpnent installed with the GC. Make sure that all checklists fr the system are available prir t beginning the installatin. User infrmatin is available frm the tuchscreen interface and the web server built int the 9000 GC. GC, ALS, MSD and accessry user manuals, the GC Firmware/PID Update Tl, Parts Finder and ther tls are included n the " GC and GC/MS User Manuals and Tls" DVD set. These will be installed as part f this GC Installatin Prcedure. Refer t the fllwing Intuv 9000 User Manuals as yu g thrugh this checklist prcedure. 3 Intuv 9000 GC Installatin Checklist General Preparatin Unpack/verify the cnditin and cmpleteness f shipment. Fr discrepancies, use the table belw. Prduct r part descriptin Observatin Actin Discuss any specific questins r issues with the custmer prir t starting. Discuss any cnfiguratin ptins with the custmer prir t starting Check fr required service nte applicability and firmware updates if cnnecting t instruments. Update as needed. Upgrades nly Ensure with custmer that instrument cntrl settings, data, methds etc. have been prperly saved r archived prir t starting any installatin prcedures. Cnnect cables and plumb gases Place the GC n the bench. Verify line vltage, GC Line pwer cnfiguratin, and pwer crd match. Cmpare GC Cnfiguratin vltage range frm label n the unit with actual vltage at custmer site. Recrd the numbers in the table n page 2. Plug in pwer cable and pwer ON the GC. Cnfirm Pwer ON successful. Use the Intuv 9000 GC Setup Wizard t setup the GC: Remve shipping clamps,caps and tape. Remve the tail brace. Install the side plate. (If n MS r secnd detectr) Install the trque driver n the GC dr. Remve the the clumn shipping ring. Install the Inlet Flw Chip. Install the Guard Chip. Install the bus dr. Set the date and time. Set the pressure units. Cnfigure the netwrk settings. 4 Intuv 9000 GC Installatin Checklist Cnnect the gasses. Install Tank Regulatrs and purge ut the air as required Install the pre-assembled TEE s prvided with yur GC t the GC EPC mdules. Cnnect tubing t the tank regulatrs r huse gas supply Install gas traps - purge each with carrier befre cnnecting the next trap r the fitting t the GC Cnnect supply gases t the GC and Leak check/pressure Test all gas cnnectins. Install and cnfire the ALS. Run the Intuv 9000 GC feature tur frm the frnt panel f the GC. If a Intuv 9000 GC is being installed with a 5977 MSD, cnfigure the MS. Refer t the GC-MS Features sectin in the Intuv 9000 GC Operatin Manual fr instructin. Cnnect the external cables, including LAN, signal utput, and/r remte cables. If GC includes Electrn Capture Detectr, cnnect the exhaust tubing t a prper vent r fume hd. If GC includes crygenic cling, cnnect crygenic clant: Fr LN2 use ¼ Swagelk and insulated cpper PSI; Fr CO2 use 1/8 Swagelk and Stainless Steel PSI. If GC includes valves, cnnect valve actuatr air using 1/4" plastic/ptfe - 50 PSI clean/dry Air. If included, headspace, r ther sampler per the specific Installatin Checklist. 5 Intuv 9000 GC Installatin Checklist Install User Manuals and update Instrument firmware Frm the "GC and GCMS User Manuals and Tls" DVD set, install the fllwing: 1. Instrument Manuals fr all mdules installed n the GC system - i.e GC, 7693 ALS, 7697 Headspace Sampler etc. 2. "GC Firmware Update Tl" - Update the Firmware n all instrument mdules as required - Befre perfrming the updates, check with the custmer and check that firmware is cmpatible with all cmpnents in the system 3. "Parts Finder" - Demnstrate hw t find and rder parts fr maintaining the custmer's system 4. Install the "Methd Develper Tls" as applicable t the System cnfiguratin. Perfrm the Inlet Leak Check frm the GC Frnt Panel Set the gas flws t the Detectr and Set t Operating Temperature. Light the Flame r Turn n the TCD Filament etc. Bake ut inlet, clumn, and detectr. 7 Intuv 9000 GC Installatin Checklist System checkut Lcate the inlet/detectr checkut methd. (Operatin Manual). Install the syringe in the Aut-sampler and cnfigure as required. (ALS User Manual) Transfer the Agilent checkut sample fr the detectr being tested int a screw cap vial r ther sampler vial. Lad slvent and waste vials int the Aut-sampler turret. (ALS User Manual) Use the Agilent Data System t enter the checkut cnditins. Save the "Checkut Methd" Create and Save a System "Bakeut Methd" - Bakeut the entire system fr 15 minutes - Split Vent flw > 100 ml/min - Inlet/Detectr degrees abve the Checkut Methd Temps, - Oven degrees htter than Methd Final Temp Relad the "Checkut Methd" When the temperatures and detectr utput is stable, perfrm ne injectin f checkut sample. Cmpare the resulting chrmatgram with the typical results dcumented in the Intuv 9000 Operatin Manual. Repeat fr ther Detectrs if installed. Review the results with the custmer. Service Review Attach available chrmatgram/reprts/printuts t this dcumentatin. Recrd the time/date f installatin r upgrade cmpletin in the custmer s recrds/lgbk. Cmplete the Service Review Cmments sectin belw if there are additinal cmments. Review the installatin/upgrade with the custmer. Explain Agilent warranty fr instruments. Explain hw t use manuals, guides, nline help. Explain hw t get self-help, FAQs frm the web. Explain hw t lg an instrument service call, supprt services available. Advise the custmer f additinal instrument training ptins. If the Instrument firmware was updated, recrd the details f the change in the Service Engineer s Cmments bx belw r if necessary, in the custmer s IQ recrds.
