WebSphere Transformation enables: Consistent data transformation across the enterprise, independent of data structure, data location, infrastructure, and operating environment Reduced application development and maintenance costs with increased application deployment speed by reusing transformation assets Increased application quality by working in a code-free environment for transformation and validation of highly complex data Faster standards compliance and improved data quality with automated data validation using industry and regulatory standards Multiple execution options to support right-time, right-style transformation batch, real time, or embedded Standards-based transaction support for unique industry transformation requirements such as X-12, EDIFACT, HIPAA, HL7, SWIFT, and NCPDP Four new programs available through Passport Advantage extend the value of WebSphere Transformation by simplifying integration with leading enterprise applications. WebSphere Transformation Pack for PeopleSoft, WebSphere Transformation Pack for SAP R/3, WebSphere Transformation Pack for SAP XI, and WebSphere Transformation Pack for Siebel are all now available for use with WebSphere Transformation V8.1 (fix pack ) to validate and transform information moving to or from key enterprise applications (refer to Software Announcement , dated July 25, 2006). This transaction-oriented solution automates the transformation and validation of high-volume and complex data without the need for hand-coding. WebSphere Transformation can deploy the same transformation, validation, and routing in virtually any infrastructure or operating environment. It supports the following interfaces: A WebSphere Transformation plug-in that enables calling WebSphere Transformation Maps from within XI Scenarios. It supports global and per-scenario configuration parameters and a user interface to build configuration files. A WebSphere Transformation IDoc adapter that enables inbound and outbound integration between WebSphere Transformation maps and the SAP XI IDoc adapter. WebSphere Transformation Pack for PeopleSoft includes connectivity to Component Interface. This application integration interface enables access to the PeopleSoft business rules and data associated with components and for Application Messaging, an application integration feature based on subscribing to and publishing XML-formatted messages. WebSphere Transformation includes a business service plug-in designed for use within Siebel s Workflow Processes to execute WebSphere Transformation maps. It also includes a Siebel business object importer that obtains metadata from the Siebel application and generates a corresponding type tree for the business object.
