Using their Web browser, distributed teams can add new requirements and create traceability links for impact analysis and traceability compliance. Overview Web Access provides an alternative way to access an database. It allows wider adoption of requirements management across your organization. With DOORS Web Access there is no need to physically move data around globally and synchronize databases. It gives globally distributed stakeholders view/edit access to requirements and traceability relationships. With DOORS Web Access, training costs for tool deployment can be kept to the minimum because users are not required to install any software on their desktop. They can simply use their favorite Web browser. Web Access V1.3 enables organizations to improve the way their requirements-driven development teams contribute new requirements, analyze or elaborate existing requirements, and validate a specification. Development time can be reduced as distributed stakeholders (analysts, developers, testers, and QA) who need to review and add new requirements to the database faster. Development teams can now create bi-directional traceability, for example from system requirements to marketing needs. Analysts, developers, and testers can access requirements and identify gaps or missing information. This way they can avoid potential errors later in the development life cycle. Web Access V1.3 also provides the ability to use the requirement-change indicators that help project teams to easily analyze changes, thus save time and reduce rework. Furthermore the increased user concurrency support enables additional team members to work simultaneously and optimize productivity. 2 Key prerequisites To download and install V9.2, your organization must have a license with valid maintenance and be running IBM Rational License Server TL V1.3, V1.4, V1.5, or V2.0. For information about how to obtain a license and about the IBM Rational License Server TL, refer to the product's user documentation. You must be running Directory Server V4.3 or V5.0. For information about the Directory Server, refer to the supplied user documentation. The computer on which you install the database server must be running TCP/IP. If you want to use FLEXnet licenses, the computer on which you install the FLEXnet license server must be running TCP/IP. Your monitor resolution must be at least 800 x 600 pixels. At least 1024 x 768 is recommended. If your display card supports only 256 colors, you may experience unusual color effects. Although this will not affect underlying data, we recommend you use a display that supports more than 256 colors. For additional details, refer to the Hardware requirements and the Software requirements sections. Description Web Access is available for two types of user roles: Requirements reviewer Requirements editor The requirements reviewer has full access to read, analyze, and discuss requirements held in DOORS, while the editor (in addition to the reviewer capabilities) is allowed to directly create and modify requirements in the same DOORS database. The release of Web Access V1.3 extends its editor capabilities to improve collaboration across the entire life cycle with minimum training effort and cost, reduce rework, and enhance quality: Decreasing development time/effort and improving quality by simplifying the way additional members can contribute and validate requirements Web Access V1.3 allows users (who have an editor role) to quickly adopt an easy Web-friendly method of adding new requirements (objects) to an existing requirements module. For example, marketing team members can identify missing requirements and add them directly to the DOORS specification. 7 Charge metrics definitions Authorized User Authorized User is the unit of measure by which this program is licensed. An Authorized User is an individual (named or unnamed) within or outside of your enterprise. 11 Program technical support Technical support of a program product will be available for a minimum of five years from the general availability date, as long as your Software Maintenance is in effect. This technical support allows you to obtain assistance (via telephone or electronic means) from IBM for product-specific, task-oriented questions regarding the installation and operation of the program product. Software Maintenance also provides you with access to updates, releases, and versions of the program. You will be notified, via announcement letter, of discontinuance of support with 12 months' notice. If you require additional technical support from IBM, including an extension of support beyond the discontinuance date, contact your IBM representative or IBM Business Partner. This extension may be available for a fee. Money-back guarantee If for any reason you are dissatisfied with the program and you are the original licensee, you may obtain a refund of the amount you paid for it, if within 30 days of your invoice date you return the program and its PoE to the party from whom you obtained it.
