2 The Campaign for McMaster University The Campaign for McMaster University Welcome This user guide demonstrates how to set up users iphone for access to the Research Awards Business Intelligence dashboard and reports. If you are interested in learning more about features of the Business Intelligence tool, please refer to the Research Awards Business Intelligence User Guide Part 1: and Part 2: The Research Awards Business Intelligence module was developed by in close coordination with stakeholders across the university and contains reports on research funding applications and awards. In addition to this user guide, the Research Awards dashboard includes a definitions tab as well as explanations within each report of the rules and definitions applied. We hope you find the content of this guide and the dashboard relevant, useful, clear and easy-to-use. 2

4 Download the BI App 1. Tap the App Store icon on your iphone's Home screen 2. In the Apple Store, do a search for oracle bi 3. Select the Oracle Business Intelligence Mobile HD and tap the GET button to download 4

5 Run the BI App 1. Tap the Oracle Business Intelligence Mobile HD icon on the iphone home screen 2. Read the legal terms and tap Accept 3. Swipe on the screen to view the First Time Help slide 4. Tap Got it to end the guide 5

6 Login to McMaster BI Server 1. Tap the + in Connections page to add a new server 4. Tap Save to return to Connections page 2. In the Server Settings page, input Name with any name you want, Host with bi.mcmaster.ca and Port with Tap to switch off the SSL and SSO (button on the left) 6

7 Login to McMaster BI Server (Continued) 7. Input your MacID and Password 5. In the Connections page, tap the newly added server 6. This box will appear 8. Switch on Save Password (optional) and Tap Login Note: If there is a issue logging on, make sure the mobile device is connected to Wi-Fi through MacSecure. Use VPN to connect to McMaster University network if the device is connected through a different domain (at home or though faculty specific domain). 7

8 VPN Settings on Mobile Devices To connect your mobile device to McMaster University network through VPN, you need to install another mobile app. Follow the instructions in the following link to download the Cisco Legacy AnyConnect app and set up the VPN connection to McMaster University network on mobile devices _iphone.html Note: Switch on AnyConnect VPN before you run the Oracle BI Mobile app, if you were not connected to Wi-Fi through MacSecure. 8

9 1. After logging in, tap the Dashboards icon in the bottom strip of the screen Access to Dashboard 2. When this Dashboards page appears, tap the Custom tab 3. In the Custom page, tap the Research Awards Dashboard 9

10 Access to Dashboard (Continued) 4. The default dashboard page will appear. 5. Tap this icon to display a list of dashboard pages that can be accessed. 6. Tap any page in the list to view it Note: you will only see the dashboard pages which your security level gives you access to. 10

11 Mobile App Settings Find Settings 1. To get to Settings, tap the arrow icon in the top left corner to return the to Dashboards page The Mobile App has settings related to General and Share 2. Tap the Settings icon in the top right corner of the Dashboards page 3. The Settings page will appear 11

12 Mobile App Settings This setting enables switching between mobile layout and original (computer) layout. The default layout is mobile layout, in which the dashboard have been adjusted to fit the mobile devices. The first box under Share brings up the Format page where you can set the format when sharing dashboards The second box under Share brings up the Connections page where you can make changes to server connections 12

13 The Mobile App enables users to forward an entire dashboard page in the format selected in the Settings discussed above Share Dashboard 1. To share the dashboard page, tap the share icon in the bottom part of the phone Note: Apps that are available to share the dashboard page may vary on different devices 2. Tap to select how you want to forward the dashboard page, i.e. via Message, , etc. 13
