2 Pearson Dental Mobile Purchasing Application General How do I find the Pearson Dental APP? You can find the FREE Pearson Dental Mobile App for smartphones and tablets at The GooglePlay or Amazon.com websites. Locate the search engine and type in Pearson Dental. The FREE Pearson Dental App shows up for you to install. You can find the FREE Pearson Dental Mobile App for iphones and ipads at the App Store Inside the itunes Store. Click itunes Store on the left hand side of the itunes window. Then click App Store category in the itunes Store window. You can use the itunes Store to then search for the Pearson Dental App. Simply click the install button to download the FREE Pearson Mobile App. What is the Pearson Dental Mobile Application? The Pearson Dental Mobile Application provides existing Pearson Dental customers with an easy and secure way to purchase goods through their mobile devices. Who is the Pearson Dental Mobile Application for? The Pearson Dental Mobile Application is available to anyone to use. However, only existing Pearson customers may actually order from the application. What are the requirements for using the Pearson Dental Mobile Application? The Pearson Dental Mobile Application is available on both devices and enabled devices using ios 5.0 or higher and 2.1 or higher, respectively. What features are included in the Pearson Dental Mobile Application? The Pearson Dental Mobile Application provides the following features: An easy and intuitive method for ordering products away from the computer. Search functions that include a feature that turns the camera on your mobile device into a barcode scanner, and voice dictated searches ( only). View your personal discounts, if applicable, on item per item basis. Easily discern products with specials or promotions from those that are not. Stay up to date with upcoming events. 3 Getting Started How do I log into my account? Tap the Options button on the bottom of the home screen. Tap the User Info button. Enter the same Pearson account number and password that you use for online ordering through Pearsondental.com. Tap the Log In button You are now logged into your personal Pearson account! Tap the Account button at the bottom of the home screen. Enter the same Pearson account number and password that you use for online ordering through Pearsondental.com. Tap the Log In button You are now logged into your personal Pearson account! Do I need a Pearson Dental account to use the mobile application? You do not need a Pearson Dental account to use the application. However you will not be able to make any purchases without being logged into a Pearson Dental account. Do I have to sign into my Pearson Dental account to use the application? You do not need to be signed in to your Pearson Dental account to use the application. However you will not be able to make any purchases without being logged in to a Pearson Dental account. Do I need a new account to use the Pearson Dental Mobile Application? No! You do not need a new Pearson account to use the application! Simply log into your existing Pearson account using the same account number and password you use for online ordering through Pearsondental.com. How do I get a Pearson Dental account? 4 Searching Pearson Dental Mobile Application How do I Search for an item? Tap the Add Item button on the slider bar at the top of the home screen. Enter in a search term either by product name or Pearson part number (1 letter followed by 6 numbers). Tap the Search button. Specific items will be displayed in the search screen, while product lines will be expanded into a larger, scrollable window. Tap the Search button at the bottom of the home screen. After searching for an item, your price will be displayed. This number represents your price including any added discounts, if applicable. Discount pricing will only be displayed if you are logged into your Pearson account. How do I know if there is a special or promotion? After querying a search, if there are any specials or promotions for that item it will be displayed on the Specials or Promotions fields. If there is a special or promotion, a new button will be visible which by tapping will enable you to view the special or promotion. If you are searching a whole product line and have the expanded search window with multiple products, a green S or P will be displayed next to the Pearson part number. To view the special or promotion, start by tapping that item. Scroll down the page and tap the Special or Promotion button. After querying a search, if there are any specials or promotions for that item, a green S or P will be displayed next to the Pearson part number. The manufacturer part number can be viewed on any item after a search query has been made. 5 Searching (Con t) How do I use the barcode scanner? Tap the Add Item button on the scroll bar at the top of the home screen. Tap the button that looks like a barcode on the top right of the screen. The camera on your device will be turned on. Tap and hold the Scan button located at the bottom of the screen so that the grey bar in the center of the screen turns RED. Point the device at a Pearson barcode. You will hear a BEEP sound. If Multi-Item is turned on, the item will be added to your shopping cart. If Multi-Item is turned off, the item will be displayed in the Add Item tab for review before being added to the shopping cart. Start by going to the shopping cart screen by tapping the Cart button at the bottom of the screen. Tap the camera button located in the upper right hand side of the screen. The camera on your device will be turned on. Tap and hold the Scan button located at the bottom of the screen so that the grey bar in the center of the screen turns RED. Point the device at a Pearson barcode. Your device will vibrate (iphone only) when an item has been successfully scanned and added to your cart. What is the voice search feature? The voice search feature is only enabled on supported devices at this time. You must have a device with a microphone to use the voice search feature. To use the voice activated search option, start by tapping the Add Item button located on the scroll bar at the top of the home screen. Tap the GREY microphone button located on the upper left side of the screen Modifying the Cart How do I add an item to my order? After a search query has been made, you can add the item to the cart by tapping the Add to Cart button. After a search query has been made, you can add the item to the cart by tapping the BLUE + button to the right of the item description. 6 Modifying the Cart (Con t) How do I delete an item from my order? From the home screen, tap the GREY BAR just above where it says Cart Summery. The shopping cart will expand. Tap the item that you wish to delete. Tap the Delete button. You will be prompted whether or not you wish to delete said item. From the shopping cart screen, tap the Edit button on the upper left side of the screen. You may then push the RED - to bring up the delete button; pressing the delete button will remove the item from your cart. Alternatively, you may swipe your finger across the item description, which will enable a Delete button on the item. How do I change the ordering quantities of my items? From the home screen, tap the GREY BAR just above where it says Cart Summery. The shopping cart will expand. Tap the item you wish to change the ordering quantity of. Change the number in the Quantity box and tap the Update button. The ordering quantity and price will then be updated. From the shopping cart screen, tap the box next to QTY on the item you wish to change the quantity of. Type in the desired quantity and push done. The ordering quantity and price will then be updated. What is Offline mode? Offline mode is available on supported devices. Offline mode allows you to store items in your cart either by entering a Pearson product number or using the barcode scanner. Your device will automatically go into Offline mode if there is no internet or Wi-Fi connection available. Make sure to validate the cart after an internet or Wi-Fi connection is available in order to update item descriptions and pricing. To enter Offline mode, scroll the top bar on the home screen to the right until you see the Online button with a GREEN BAR below it. Tap the Online button so that it changes to Offline with a GREY BAR below it. You are now in Offline mode. When in Offline mode, you will not be able to view item descriptions or pricing. 7 Submitting an Order How do I submit my order? Tap the Submit button at the top of the scroll bar on the home screen. Enter in a PO number, if applicable, Enter a valid address. This is only used for sending you an order confirmation. Select your shipping address. Enter any shipping instructions (IE Leave package by front door). Tap the Submit button. Your order has now been submitted! Tap the Checkout button located on the bottom of the home screen. Tap the Begin Checkout button. Choose your shipping address. Enter a valid address. This is only used for sending you an order confirmation. Enter in a PO number, if applicable. Enter any shipping instructions (IE Leave package by front door). Tap the Complete Purchase button. Your order has now been submitted! Do I need to have a Purchase Order (PO) number? You do not need to use a PO number. PO s are for your records only. If you do not wish to use a PO number, leave the PO field blank. What does the Validate Cart button do? By tapping the Validate Cart button, all items in your cart will be updated to show you the most current and updated price. If you are adding items to the cart without an internet or Wi-Fi connection, IE working in Offline mode, pushing the Validate Cart button will update all items with correct description and pricing. How do I pay for my order? After submitting an order using the Pearson Dental Mobile Application, your Pearson account will automatically be billed and charged as if you were placing an order through pearsondental.com. Can I pay with a credit card? At this time, only Pearson dental accounts that are marked for as a credit card account can use their credit card to place an order through the Pearson Dental Mobile Application. 8 Other Features How do I view upcoming events? Scroll the top bar until you see the Events button. Tap the Events button to view all upcoming events. Tap the More Options button located at the bottom of the home screen. Tap Events to view all upcoming events. How do I view Pearson publications? Scroll the top bar until you see the Publications button. Tap the Publications button to view all of Pearson s publications including special catalogs and flyers. Tap the More Options button located at the bottom of the home screen. Tap Publications to view all of Pearson s publications including special catalogs and flyers. Changing Settings How do I log out of my account? Tap the options menu located at the bottom of the home screen. Tap the User Info button. Tap the Clear button. You are now logged out. Tap the Account tab at the bottom of the home screen. Tap the Log Out button. You are now logged out. How do I change my shipping address? Changing your shipping address through the Pearson Dental Mobile Application is not aloud.
