Transfrmer Page Click n Edit Recipe n the Recipe r Wrangled Dataset icns t navigate t the Transfrmer page. In the Transfrmer Page, yu identify the data that yu need t wrangle and build yur Recipes n samples that Trifacta has taken frm yur currently selected dataset. When yu make changes t yur transfrmatin Recipe, thse changes are immediately applied t yur sample, s that yu can preview the results f yur recipe befre yu run it against the dataset at scale. This allws yu t quickly build and iterate n the transfrmatins applied t yur data. 2. Data Quality Bar Just belw the clumn name is a hrizntal band, which identifies data quality issues amng the sample values in the clumn. Each clr band identifies the relative number f recrds that fit the fllwing data quality definitins: Green Valid value Red A value that des nt match

2 Black N value present Validity is based n whether r nt the rw value matches the data type f the clumn (i.e. if the clumn is a integer type, and a rw value is a date, it will be invalid). 3. Histgram Belw the data quality bar, a clumn histgram displays the cunt f each detected value in the clumn (fr string data) r the cunt f values within a numeric range (fr number data) by simply hvering ver the bars. Yu can use this histgram t identify unusual values r utlier values, which shuld be remved r crrected. 4. Clumn Menu T the right f the clumn header, there is a drp dwn buttn t access the Clumn Menu. The Clumn Menu allws yu t quickly initiate actins, transfrmatin templates like prmting the clumn t prper case, replacing all symbls within a clumn, renaming a clumn, etc. 2

3 5. Panel The Panel n the right f the transfrmer page huses yur Recipe, Suggestins, Builder, and sampling methds (Enterprise Editin nly). 6. Suggestins Interacting with data in the Transfrmatin Page generates Suggestins using Trifacta's Predictive Interactin. Based n the interactins with yur data, Trifacta will infer the best step t apply. These suggestins will appear in the panel and yu can chse frm the ptins listed. 3

4 7. Builder Builder aids yu in building and custmizing steps beynd what generating suggestins r using clumn menu actins can prvide. Builder cntains a set f parameters fr each Transfrmatin Verb and prvides visual aid t cmpleting transfrmatin step. 8. Clumns View In the Clumns view, yu can quickly navigate thrugh the clumns in yur dataset, select multiple clumns fr multi-clumn Transfrmatins, and perfrm Clumn Menu actins. 9. Clumn Details The Clumn Details prvides mre detailed prfiling n clumns in yur dataset. Yu can access the Clumn Details thrugh the Clumn Menu, and yu ll be given clumn statistics, histgrams, and ther visuals f the clumn data. Additinally, yu can access the Patterns page. 4

5 10. Transfrmatin Step A Transfrmatin Step cnsists f transfrmatin verb and parameters specific t that verb. A Transfrmatin Step can be initiated by: Predictive Interactin: By highlighting data in the grid, clicking n the data quality bar, brushing ver the histgram, clicking the clumn header, etc. Trifacta will prvide a suggestin fr hw best t prceed. Clumn Menu Actin: By clicking n an actin within the clumn menu, Trifacta will prmpt a template step in Builder fr which yu can accept r custmize t yur liking. Builder: Yu can initiate a builder step by clicking n the + in the bttm right and manually filling ut builder. 5
