Vernon, Indiana, have officially begun pasturing the Carmi Church of the Nazarene. The Robinsons retired and was on staff at the Point Township Church of the Nazarene for the past two years. Prior to that, the Robinsons pastured there for 35 years. Rev. Robinson brought the Point Township thru six major building programs, to build one of the largest congregations of the 82 churches of the Nazarene in Southwest Indiana. Rev. Robinson has traveled in 18 countries on 37 work and witness trips and is planning to go on a trip to Belize, Central America in February Rev. and Mrs. Robinson have 4 adult children, 9 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. ANNA ERECTS FLAG POLES Anna Church of the Nazarene recently erected two thirty foot flag poles in honor of all veterans in the surrounding communities. This project was made possible from a local businessman who generously donated funds to Veteran's Committee Chairman, Phil Ray. On display will be an 8' x 5' United States Flag and an 8' x 5' Christian Flag. The MIA-POW will also be flown on designated days. A sincere thank you is extended to all who brought this dream to reality. SHELBYVILLE HAS LIVE NATIVITY Shelbyville had over 1100 people come through their live nativity. STEELMAN RECEIVES DSA Mrs. Betty Steelman received a Distinguished Service Award from the Olivet Church of the Nazarene for her many years of faithful service to the Olivet Church. All five of her children and their families were present for this special presentation of the DSA. MISSIONS AT WORK On December 10, the Fairview heights Parkview Church hosted their LINKS missionary family, Phil & Denise Anderson and daughters Makenzie and Morgyn. The Andersons presented a wonderful service after which the church held a reception in their honor surprising them with an early Christmas. Church members generously provided Christmas gifts for each member of the family; enough to load their entire van. The Andersons left for the Dominican Republic in early January. This will be their first assignment since accepting their position into fulltime service for the Church of the Nazarene PASTORS HONORED Pastor Jim and Chris Blue was honored on Pastor Appreciation Sunday by the Olivet Congregation after completing 14 years of service to the Olivet Church. The Blues were presented many personal gifts, including a week at Hilton Head Island and a bonus of a week s salary. Dr. Spruce conducted the annual pastoral review with the Olivet Church Board which extended Pastor and Chris Blue a unanimous 4 year extended call. Anna took Rev. & Mrs. Bobby Brewer from Omaha out to O'Charley's and gave them the Love Offering that was taken up for them on December 10. Our church family is always giving when there is a need. They will be doing general maintenance, clean up and painting. The team leaves February 26 and returns March 10, This is Dave s sixth annual trip to the Village. Please remember the team in prayer. Our W&W trip to Juchitan, Mexico has been put on hold, however the District NMI is helping with a project to put a medical clinic in Georgetown, Guyana. The team is leaving March 3 and returning March 14, Some are going early and some are staying in country longer. The effort is a combination of the Pittsfield Church, the Michigan District and the Illinois District. Three team members are from Michigan, three from Kankakee, five from Pittsfield, Three from Springfield, one from Taylorville, one from Chrisman and one from Florida. The team is lead by Rev. Joe Techau and assisted by Dr. Jim Reader and Tony Deal. The Illinois District, under the guidance of Rev Joe Techau has been involved in several trips and projects to Guyana assisting with the construction of a District Campground, a sawmill and computer support. Please remember this team as it travels.

7 FAMILY CAMP 2007 Illinois District Church of the Nazarene Family Camp / Conventions & Assembly ~ July 16-22, 2007 Room Rental Information & Application ==================================================================== Note: Reservations will only be accepted AFTER April 1, 2007 Special consideration will be given to those with certain medical needs who apply early. Otherwise, rooms will be filled on a First Come - First Served basis. Linen Service - $10.00 per bed. Each Linen Set includes: mattress pad, 2 sheets, blanket, pillow, pillowcase, 2 small bath towels, hand towel, and 2 wash clothes. More towels are available midweek. Kelly & Reader - $ For The Week. Each room has two twin beds, a built-in closet/chest and vanity. These rooms are carpeted and have central A/C. There are two full baths in each building. Family Dorm Rooms - $ For The Week. Each room has eight sets of bunk beds, a large counter with mirror, and central A/C. No bath facilities. Family Rooms - $70.00 For The Week. These are small cottage rooms. Each room has one full size bed and one chest. Rooms 1-10 have window AC units. Rooms have central A/C. No bath facilities. Girl s & Boy s Dorm Rooms - $20.00 For The Week OR $5.00 Per Night. These costs are per person. Each room has eight sets of bunk beds, a large counter with mirror, and central A/C unit. No bath facilities. He served two years on staff at the Harrisonburg Church of the Nazarene as youth pastor and seven years with the Woodbridge Church of the Nazarene as pastor of youth and administration. Buddy began his ministry at Salem Fields on March 5,1995. His primary responsibilities include preaching, vision casting and providing leadership. his daughter, Jodi. Buddy is madly in love with his wife and best friend, Gaye. Together they strive to follow God and lead SFCC as co-leaders. They have a daughter, Jodi, a son-in-law, Jason, a grandson, Christian a granddaughter, Gracie and another grandson, Jackson. His hobbies include traveling with his wife and playing golf. His favorite singers are his wife Gaye, and Buddy's passion and purpose is to Become a whole person in Jesus Christ, to be a successful husband, father, fatherin-law and grandfather and to reach unchurched people for the glory of God. Ministry focus topics will include: starting new churches, compassionate ministry, strategic evangelism, and community development. This process is designed to help churches and districts become more aware of their contexts, more attuned to headquarters resources, the needs of people in the urban community and more focused on the specific mission and ministry they are best suited to carry out as a district. The goal is to encourage, organize, and help develop strategy to minister effectively. The workshop will be held at Collinsville Good Samaritan Church of the Nazarene. It will begin at 4:00 pm on Friday and concludes at 12 noon on Saturday. Headquarters participants are available to speak at congregations on Sunday morning. The District Urban Initiative is for Important Dates: everyone. The skills developed and topics discussed will help February M7 Conference every pastor and key layman even though they may not February 24 th Team Day at Decatur 1 st minister in an urban area.
