Welcome and Agenda Review Cathy Alper welcomed everyone to the meeting and reviewed the CompTIA antitrust statement, purpose and agenda. Doriana Allyn thanked the 2014 AWIT members who stepped down and introduced the 2015 AWIT. 4 II. AWIT Community Business 1. Creating IT Futures Foundation (CITFF) Charles Eaton, CEO, Creating IT Futures Foundation provided an overview of the services and directions of the foundation with emphasis on the ways in they are collaborating with AWIT. CITFF produced a set of videos, Test Drive an IT Career, which highlights a day in the life of many technical jobs. AWIT is collaborating with ITSS on a program to promote the videos especially to schools. 2. AWIT 2015 Charity Nominations Hilary Gadda and Nancy Alm provided information about the 2015 charity program and asked community members to nominate charities for consideration. 3. Living our Mission Doriana Allyn described the three parts of the AWIT mission and how we are working/providing services for each part of the mission. Empowering women with knowledge and skills necessary for successful IT careers Inspiring girls and women to enter the IT field as a career choice Supporting businesses in creating cultures that promote a diverse IT workforce Webinars Presenters at live meetings Career Resource Center Dream IT Webinars Presenters at live meetings Future Initiatives 4. AWIT Webinar Series Michelle Ragusa-McBain provided information about the AWIT Webinar Series. 5 III. Creating Welcoming Cultures 1. The Future is Now Janet Schijns, Vice President, Global Enterprise, Government and Channels Marketing, Verizon Enterprise Solutions presented information about leadership, how leaders see the future unfolding in the present and how creating a positive company culture is an important part of leadership. 2. Impacting Culture Facilitated discussion Kim Miner VP HR, Brother Americans guided the participants in a facilitated discussion to explore the issue of how company culture is related to women in IT. IV. Dress for Success Wendy Lyn Phillips provided an overview of the AWIT 2014 charities, Dress for Success with emphasis on the charity mission and how AWIT community members can get involved. V.
