6 SolidCitric How it Works Acid cleaning of different subsea interfaces has up until now been performed by mixing acid on deck and transporting the acid to the worksite by means of hose reel from deck or a compensator fitted on the ROV. This is a very inefficient way of doing things for expensive vessels /rigs. Furthermore, the loss of acid to the environment is known to be great, making the acid cleaning less effective. The patented Jupa SolidCitric TM is a completely new way of attacking the acid cleaning task. The SolidCitric cartridge, containing citric acid in solid form, is simply brought to the worksite with the ROV. Here an adapter tool, for the interface to be cleaned, is installed and the SolidCitric cartridge is then fitted to the adapter tool. The ROV, vessel or rig is now free to perform other tasks while the SolidCitric is being dissolved by the seawater creating a localised and efficient acid cleaning. When the acid dissolves it will flow downwards and displace / saturate the raw seawater which is entrapped in the adapter tool. The acid should be allowed to work as long as possible, and for a few hours as a minimum. For this reason the cartridge should therefore be installed as early as possible in the campaign when entering the field with ROV. After the cartridge has been removed it should be sufficient to merely water jet the subsea asset in order to achieve the expected clean end result. Put simply, it is an install and forget way of doing things. A number of adapters for common interfaces are presented on the following pages. For other applications Jupa can assist with designing and fabricating adapter tools, or the Client may choose to make these tools themselves to fit with the SolidCitric cartridges which Jupa will deliver. 7 SolidCitric Cartridge Jupa currently have 4 different standard sizes of SolidCitric cartridges: 12kg (P/N ) 6kg (P/N ) 1,3kg (P/N ) 2,5kg (P/N ) The 12kg and the 6kg cartridges comprise a Ø150mm Polycarbonate tube which contains the SolidCitric acid (patents pending). These cartridges must be used in conjunction with the Handling Adapter (P/N P016) and a polymer end cap (P/N ). The 1,3kg cartridge comprise Ø90mm Polycarbonate tube which contains SolidCitric acid and must be used in conjunction with the MINI Handling Adapter (P/N P037). The 2,5kg cartridge comprise Ø90mm Polycarbonate tube and is made to fit the SCM guide funnel cleaning adapter. Other cartridge dimensions can be delivered on request. Standard cartridges of all sizes are normally immediately available for purchase.

8 SolidCitric CARTRIDGE Handling Adapter This tool is used to handle the SolidCitric cartridges with the ROV. The tool comprises a D-handle and a flexjoint which is mounted on a closed end pipe section. The SolidCitric cartridge is inserted into the handling adapter and is fastened by tightening a number of set screws. An internal neoprene seal in the handling adapter ensures that no acid becomes washed out. 9 SolidCitric CARTRIDGE Mini Handling Adapter This tool is used to handle the 1,3kg SolidCitric cartridges (P/N ) with the ROV. The SolidCitric cartridge is inserted into the handling adapter and a dedicated nose adapter for the interface to be cleaned is then mounted to the mini handling adapter. 10 SolidCitric NOSE ADAPTER FOR Tronic 4-7pin receptacle This nose adapter is designed for acid cleaning of Tronic 4 pin or 7 pin receptacles. The nose adapter must be used in conjunction with the mini handling adapter (P/N P037) and 1,3kg SolidCitric cartridge (P/N ). A parking receptacle for bolting onto the ROV or basket is included with this tool. Length: 153 mm Diameter: 116mm P/N: P023 This product is available for both purchase and rental. 11 SolidCitric NOSE ADAPTER FOR SLC Receptacle TechnipFMC This nose adapter is designed for acid cleaning of Single Line Connectors. The nose adapter must be used in conjunction with the mini handling adapter (P/N P037) and 1,3kg SolidCitric cartridge (P/N ). A parking receptacle for bolting onto the ROV or basket is included with this tool. Length: 142mm Diameter: 116mm P/N: P013 This product is not normally stocked, but is available for purchase. 12 SolidCitric NOSE ADAPTER FOR Moffat Receptacle These nose adapters are designed for acid cleaning of 2 and 4 Moffat receptacles. The nose adapters must be used in conjunction with the Mini handling adapter (P/N P037) and 1,3kg SolidCitric cartridge (P/N ). The tool is fitted with two SolidCitric cartridge slots if a large volume is required to be saturated. The valve rubber adapter is fitted around the SolidCitric cartridge on deck in order to provide a fit into API 17H Cl 1-4 valve buckets.
