The ordiace will accomplish this i two ways: Reducig the total sig area for o-site sigs Reducig the size ad umber of o-site sigs Removal of ba o murals: The ordiace removes the 2002 ba, ad allows murals as wall sigs. This type of broad gratig of exceptios (termed by oe judge as willy-illy ) has gotte the City ito legal hot water. Uder the ew sig ordiace, eligibility is restricted based o objective lad use criteria. Sig Districts would be allowed oly i areas where commuitybased log rage plas have called for the most commercially itese lad uses. This would represet about a 90% reductio i eligibility for Sig Districts citywide (see map o bottom right). 5
