Park-and-rides provide access to transit from outlying, auto-oriented suburban areas Most effective when buses have travel time advantage over autos Important tool in congestion mitigation Can serve as transition zones for future Transit Oriented Development

25 REGIONAL PARK AND RIDE INITIATIVE capmetro.org May 8, 2015 Board Worksession Capital Metro is coordinating with TXDOT & CTRMA to fund and implement six high priority express bus routes & park-and-rides as alternatives to drive-alone regional commuters 1. Howard Station 2. South I North South MoPac 5. Four Points 6. Manor Next Steps include refining capital, bus and operating costs and pursuing funding Supplemental funding is needed to advance these in near term!
