That the Board of Police Commissioners APPROVE and ACCEPT the donation of electronic equipment to Commercial Crimes Division. DONOR INFORMATION: ITEMS: AMOUNT/VALUE: Los Angeles Police Department (#286-10) Commercial Crimes Division Supporters Mr. Burton Merrill Marina Del Rey, California (310) DVRM6-4 camera mobile $4, DVR's with remote view 6-Ultra mini color CMOS cameras 4-Mini super high gain microphones 8-25' video audio cables 10-pre-wired 12volt infrared led bulbs DISCUSSION The donated equipment will benefit Commercial Crimes Division for the purpose of supporting the Department's auto theft prevention efforts. The electronic equipment will be used to equip bait car vehicles that will be utilized city wide. Please see attachment for details. Information Technology Division was contacted and approved the equipment. Administrative Services Bureau has reviewed the donation and determined that it has been submitted in accordance with Section et seq. of the Los Angeles Administrative Code, which provides for the receipt and acceptance of donations to the Police Department.

Commercial Crimes Division (CCD), received a donation of electronic equipment from the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD), CCD Supporters for the purpose of supporting the LAPDs auto theft prevention efforts. The electronic equipment will be used to equip bait car vehicles that will be utilized citywide. The equipment donated includes the following: (2) DVRM6-4 camera mobile DVR's with remote view (6) Ultra Mini color CMOS cameras (4) Mini super high gain microphones (8) 25' video audio cables (10) pre-wired 12volt infrared led bulbs 2. Date donation received: November 5, Was the donation solicited? Yes The CCD Supporters have assisted CCD in its efforts to combat crime in the Los Angeles Area. The above listed equipment was donated to CCD on behalf of the CCD Supporters to help reduce auto theft related crimes throughout the City. 4. Have all possible conflicts of interest associated with this acceptance been researched? Yes. There are no conflicts of interest associated with this donation. 5. Total Donation Value: $ 4,718.60

Senior Management Analyst II Wade Nakakura, of ITD was contacted and given the specifications of the electronic components needed to complete the bait car. Wade Nakakura consulted with Electronic Technician Martin Rodriguez of Motor Transport Division regarding the building of the bait vehicle. Wade Nakakura and Tri Nguyen were satisfied with the specifications and will be available for consultation during the bait car building process. 7. Is there an ongoing maintenance or administrative costs associated with acceptance of the donation? NO Once the equipment is broken the City of Los Angeles will not be obligated to pay for repairs of the donated equipment. 8.
