1 Industry Notice: US-33 Smart Mobility Corridor Ph Upcoming RFQ Request The Ohio Department of Transportation is announcing an upcoming Design-Build Opportunity to design and construct the LOGUNIFRA-33-Smart Mobil Phase. This project will complete a redundant loop network connecting to the Dublin, TRC, and, the Marysville Fiber Network. Upon completion of the project the State of Ohio will assume ownership of the network allowing it to be used in any manner deemed appropriated by the State of Ohio. This project has a preliminary estimate of $ 6.6 million and will be delivered using a Two-Step Design-Build procurement. This specific project will require the nd installation of the two major fiber optic routes completing a network loop structure along the US-33 corridor. The two routes are designated as the US-33 Route and the Local Route. This second independent fiber optic ultimately ties-in to the recently constructed US-33 Route project. The Local Route must be designed and constructed to fully integrate with the newly constructed US-33 Route Fiber. This project will complete a final ring configuration by connecting to the initial US-33 Route phase. The final ring configuration, with the completion of the Local Route, allows for diversity in network design and lower cost access for future laterals along Industrial Parkway while providing the necessary network path to support the AutonomousConnected Vehicle System. This local route will be constructed partially within the City of Marysville business district and along old US-33 between Marysville Ohio and Dublin Ohio. The termini of the Local Route will be the Dublin and the recently completed telecom building near the Transportation Research Center (TRC). The DBT will be required to make all necessary connections, testing, and verifications required to validate installation. The Department intends to post a Request for Qualification March 3 8 to shortlist the 3 most qualified Design-Build Teams, focusing on a team s ability to demonstrate ) an acceptable understanding of the of the Project and the Project s primary tasks by providing an effective management approach to the tasks, ) Ability of the Offeror to demonstrate a qualified DB Project Team relative to the requirements of the Project and 3) the capacity and ability to design, install, test, and splice fiber optic networks of similar size and schedule of Fiber Optic Cable Networks for use in the Communications Industry. A Pre-SOQ submittal meeting will be held Date: Thursday, March 9, 8, : AM, ODOT District 6 Headquarters, 4 East William Street, Delaware, Ohio 435 Conference Room: nd Floor Construction Conference Room. SOQs will be due April, 8. Upon announcement of the Shortlist, the Department will be issuing bidding documents to the shortlisted teams requesting a bid for the design and construction of the project. The announcement of the best apparent bid would be July 8. There will not be a stipend.
