4 The main dashboards have numerous features, namely: Full wellness display for all athletes based on todays values Acute to Chronic Charts and Slicer % Weekly Change Chart for Individual Athletes with Slicer Individual Weekly Load By Activity (displays the same week as selected in the slicer for Load, Monotony & Strain Chart).

5 Inserting Raw Data & Modifying Raw Data The wellness and workload raw data tabs drive all pivot tables and charts. Pivot tables are an easy way to organise and subcategorize your data. However, they do not take too kindly to headings being changed.

6 Watch what happens to any of the workload based tables when I change the name of the activity column to session type, and the load column to total load. As you can see below I ve lost all my visual charts and data.

7 Pivot tables identify and separate data based on headings. If you change or modify the raw data headings to suit your needs, you need to reconfigure the pivot tables to recreate the charts again. To reconfigure the data, simply click on the pivot table and select the field list option. You can see there is no data in the values area. The newly labelled total load field is also not selected. Just click and drag this field into the values column and your data will appear again. Once you have dragged it into the values field, make sure it is sum of total load you have selected, and your data will re-appear once again.

8 Follow this step whenever you customize any of the wellness or workload headings, or add in your own variables. Before you do so, it is a good idea to click into the field items list to see which variables are in each either the filter, column, rows, or values areas, as this will dictate how the pivot tables and charts present.

9 If you get this error message pop up, it will mean that if you hit ok the pivot table will expand and overwrite some of the formulas beside it. Try to avoid this if you can, however it may pop up if you copy your own large bulk of data in the spreadsheet. Notice in the picture how all 6 weeks are selected in the slicer, this will overwrite the data in the load working tabs as the set up only allows for 4 weeks of data to be selected. It may be unavoidable for you though, so If this happens click cancel, then make a note of, or even copy the calculations you another area of the spreadsheet for safe keeping, then insert your data, narrow it back down using the slicer and then copy the formulas back in. This is the easiest way to do things, everything is set up, it s just a matter of either undoing your action to see what happens and accounting for it, or trying to make sure it doesn t happen. Trial and error is always a good learning tool.

10 The wellness pivot table is based off a series of data which copies the wellness raw data and converts it into number format, so the pivot can display it properly. Pivot tables cannot display words, which is why I have set up this range, as I like to keep the words in my questions to athletes for ease of use, and just convert to numbers for my own display. If your own data only uses numbers, then you could just create a pivot table based off the raw data instead of a helper table. Changes made to the raw data headings will coincide with a change in this copied data. Once you have changed your data, you can copy the field items template I have made, and place your new items in those areas. Remember, if you add in more rows of data you will need to make sure the data table is resized. I have named the range for my workload data Wrkload

11 If you add more columns of data, for example, you may add in some gps markers, then you need to resize the table Wrkload if you want your pivot tables to take this data in. Apply these method to all pivot tables when changing any headings or expand the data range (workloads and main wellness pivot on the dashboard).

12 Weekly Load and Acute to Chronic Charts The data that drives the weekly load and acute to chronic charts, uses a combination of pivot tables and equations outside of the pivot tables. This is because pivot tables cannot calculate certain variables and as such, the pivot tables collect the data and then the calculations must be made manually. You ll find these tables in the load workings tab. This means when the number of athletes increases, you need to copy these formulas down and drive the charts of a wider range of data. If new data is added, simply click on the chart, and change the data source. If you select the athletes and total load, then hit and hold the ctrl button whilst you select the monotony and strain values, then you can select these variables without selecting variables you don t need, like standard deviation etc. You can expand the range to include the new athlete 11 for the weekly load chart by dragging it down. This process is the same for the acute to chronic charts.

13 The chart below now accommodates the new athlete.

14 Modifying Week Labels The week labels, categorize individual days into week numbers to drive the weekly slicers. This allows you to pick weeks of data to analyse and use to look at acute to chronic workloads. This is a series of data in the workload raw data tab. All you need to do here is change the top date to a start date of your choice. If you are running a Monday to Sunday week then it is a good idea to start with a Monday, even if you have no data for that date. Once you enter a new start date all the other dates will adjust accordingly.

15 Modifying Wellness Headings Some of the variables in the wellness dashboard run on equations outside of the pivot table, which allows you to display text and not numbers. Be wary that if you change the headings in your wellness data, the illness, injury and injury location equations will cause an error If you wish to add in your own variables, be sure to change the headings on the main dashboard to coincide with these new headings. Otherwise an error will show up. The formula for these wellness headings must also match the right columns in the wellness raw data tab, especially if you have modified it. The formula for hours slept is below. =INDEX('Wellness Raw Data'!K$1:$K$3000,MATCH($B$9&$C7, 'Wellness Raw Data'!$C:$C&'Wellness Raw Data'!$D:$D,0),MATCH(I$8,'Wellness Raw Data'!K$1:$K$1,0)) You need to make sure that the date and athlete name, match up with the date and athlete name columns in the wellness raw data. You must also ensure that cell I8, looks for Injuries in column K, if this heading moves to column J due to your modifications, then you need to change the formula accordingly. If your headings go past column K in the wellness raw data tab, you must change the green part of this formula accordingly.

16 % Weekly Change Chart & Labels The % weekly load column works by displaying the total load for any week, for a given athlete, but displays the % change between each week. If you wish to format this chart and display more data, for example weekly load, or expand the selection to display more than 41 weeks of % change, then you need to format the data labels. If you right click on the column value and open this menu, you can click value from cells and select the range you wish to use. You will be prompted to highlight a range for these data labels to be based from. I ve unchecked the value and leader lines boxes so that only the range of cells that I select is on display. The formula =IFERROR(B45/B44-1, "") drives the percentage change between two weeks for this chart. I ve dragged this formula down to cell C85. The equation will not display values if there is no

17 data to work from, but it means that once the pivot table expands, the calculations will be automatic.

18 Team Monotony and Acute: Chronic Speedo The monotony and acute:chronic speed is based off ranges of data in the weekly load and acute to chronic tabs. It is important to modify this total number to accommodate an increase in athlete numbers and expand the range of the formula. In the images below, you can see the ranges from which this formula works from, for each speedo.

20 Injury Database The injury database displays all the injuries that have been accrued in the wellness raw data. I ve hidden columns A and B where the formulas work from. The injury database will need to be updated once 198 injuries have occurred, as the formula stops at cell 200. Once this occurs, simply unhide columns A and B, and continue to drag the formulas down as far as you need them to go. You must also ensure that the headings match up with the same column in the wellness raw data tab. I.e the formula for injury location is: =IF($A1>$F$2,"",INDEX('Wellness Raw Data'!L1:L3000,$B1,0)) You must ensure that the injury location heading is in cell L of the wellness raw data tab, and recognize that once you pass 3,000 rows of data, then this formula will need to expand i.e L1:L5000, if needed.
